My kids loved the animals and being able to feed them in the morning was a real novelty. Basic cabins but had everything we needed - heater included which was good as it's cold in August! A good stop on our way back from Cape Reinga. Nice little coffee shop and takeaways a short walk away. Also a bike path around the waterfront to playground. We visited Hendersons Beach, as recommended by our host, which was absolutely spectacular.

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The whole camping holiday park was beautiful and clean.
Having to come home and also finding the camps duvet in our car. Very upsetting as my husband thought it was ours. All sorted, but felt really bad.

good starting point for trips to Cape Reinga, 90 mile beach etc., nice outside cooking area
4 bed cottages were really dark, not cosy, kitchen not well equipped, we've been to a lot better places for the same or even less price per night

Easy access to shops and necessities especially for long weekend (Easter), the animals were the greatest entertainment and the kids LOVED them, friendly staff and a variety of different people also, there's alot of space, even when it's fully booked, you always have a piece of land for your family to enjoy
Communal but that's me being picky, I like my privacy. And the showers were frustrating after a long day but great way to save water! And maybe another BBQ

Nice location, lovely little cabin.
Lots of insects inside the cabin and it was freezing cold at night even with the small electric heater on.

I didn’t like how wifi or duvets weren’t part of the fee of staying there.

the staff, the farmyard animals & the location to other towns, sites and excursions…
needed a little more shelving space in the kitchen, maybe an extra shelf where artwork upon entry is. definitely needs a fly swat and a dish rack dryer to get 100%, but it was blooming fantastic anyway!

The location is excellent and peaceful. Pukenui is the last place to get food and groceries in the far north. Be sure to get lots of food and snacks before heading to Cape Reinga.
