Michael and his wife were absolutely wonderful hosts, they are putting in a lot of work to make the property even more beautiful.
They were very attentive to our needs, and helped arrange excursions (best to arrange before you arrive, they fill up!)
The bungalow was lovely, clean and roomy (fresh flowers in the room when we arrived). The shared space had everything we needed to prepare meals. We indulged, and had two breakfasts prepared for us, we were so full we skipped lunch both days!
Kayaks are provided with nice snorkeling, and the huge archaeological site within paddling distance. We encountered dolphins on our day paddling. Rays are common, but we missed seeing them.
We absolutely recommend a stay here, they are equipped to host couples and entire families.
Having a rental car is highly recommended, it is 45mins to an hour from the main town where most diving and excursions are based. That said, a car is a GREAT way to see the entire island, we were very happy we had one for our entire stay.

The host waited up for us to provide keys and escorted us to our Tree House with fresh fruits from their garden.

We met with Corinne who gave us the keys to the room and gave us a tour of the property. You have access to the kitchen, which is very well organized with room allocated in the fridge and shelves. Corinne also prepares breakfast and pizzas for dinner. We borrowed very good kayaks that we used to visit a motu nearby, it has the best snorkeling of the island. Highly recommend ! The bonus: the view from the lodge facing the bay is just magnificent.
the location is a bit remote but we were in the most beautiful bay of the island so it was largely worth it.

very nice place. remote, with a private beach and perfect snorkling spots nearby. friendly owners and very good bungalows
only 2 restaurants are within a 15 min drice

Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful surroundings. There is also a private beach.
Breakfast was good but it has to be paid separately.
It was a bit challenging to understand what the hosts would consider to be their job or not: they were very helpful booking me a car, but they didn’t do the same with other guests so I ended up riding 2 of them with me back to the village. The fact that I was supposed to do the trip regardless, and that they turned out to be extremely good people, doesn’t change the fact I was the one on task.
If you book a bungalow here, you MUST get a car also - and be prepared to do a fare share of km to get food too: there is only a restaurant nearby and it’s difficult to predict when pizza would be available at the property.
Also, I found three pieces of open soaps (Home made? Second-hand? Just unwrapped for me?) and fresh flowers in the bathroom upon my arrivals - and a cemetery of insects on the sink.
Wi-fi was poor, and the best network wasn’t accessible to us.

Cyrille, Louise and their daughter are very kind and human. They take care of their guest and treat them like a family. If you love nature, the song of birds and roosters in the morning, great vegetation and a breathtaking view of the sea, come here. We will never forget this place and the kindness of our host. Thank you so much for everything!
The soundproofing of the rooms.

It is lush and secluded, with many crabs to observe. I enjoyed interacting with family and other travelers in the communal kitchen/dining area.
The place is crawling with insects. There were flying insects on the bed and ants all over the bathroom. We had to burn incense to keep the mosquitos at bay, but it had a very strong smell. The combination of insects and incense made it difficult to sleep. It’s really far from town (1 hour), so it’s less convenient if you want to do activities like scuba diving or visit Taha’a. When I changed the dates to avoid the 2 hour roundtrip, my genius discount was not applied anymore, so for the price and location (including car rental fees), I would look elsewhere.
4.8 / 5.0
The shear beauty and quietness of the property and the friendliness of the host.
