Excellent breakfast! Nice view of Shanghai.
Cheaper would always be better, but for that location, the price feels fair.

Great Location in the heart of the Business Center and panoramic view over the Huangpu river and the old part of Shanghai. Nice big room with different commodities.
The fact that they charged me for breakfast but when arrived for checking they told me it’s not included. Even with the confirmation presented at the front desk they wouldn’t offer it and still charged me. That’s low.

Bedroom. Breakfast was very well arranged. Fantastic.
Some things in the bedroom were a bit too old or there were scratches in the furniture.

I chose the hotel because it was an international brand (american 5 star) because on previous trips that the 5 star hotels , the staff can communicate in english. This hotel, the only person who I could have a conversation with was the Front office manager. The rest of the staff they did not understand english - it was so frustrating! For me to order anything I had to show them the menu and point to what I wanted. Then the breakfasts were very poor for westeners.

Exellent location, great view to the CBD area of Shanghai- Lujiazui. Walking distance to Shanghai Center and Financial Center.
The staff were polite and helpful.
Overall value of money is quite good with this location.
The decoration is aging, renovation is in need.
Breakfast is to be improved, overall below 5 star level, quality of coffee is unacceptable, the view of restaurant is great though.

You ask me to rate my stay? Which stay? The one you ask me to cancel due to the fact you were not able to deliver at check in. Paid for a Diplomat Suite with club access. Mentioned through chat I booked the room to celebrate a birthday and show somebody the skyscrapers of Shanghai. Had you on the phone in the morning and on the chat several days before. On checkin you still don’t mention anything until I see the 2 papers on the desk telling me the swimming pool and fitness is closed, the club room is closed, and there is also no club breakfast! Not to forget next day no power from 7AM! What a mismanagement and what a shame for 5 star hotel in Shanghai China. Not only did you let me down but you also let me loose my face.
The management and the people who absolutely don’t care their customers!

great location, the food is enough western for China and the building is just a piece of art
4.0 / 10.0
Beautiful room in a corner of the building, great 270 degree views of the river and Pearl Tower. Great large bathrooms with a view.
1) the floors of the room upon arrival were quite a mess as their were seeds and hair over most of the carpet.
2) there was a miscommunication of when the pool and gym were open. Originally before the green cancellation date I was informed of the facilities being open. but when I arrived, hotel staff stated everything was closed. This is why I paid more.
3) the shower head spray can bruise or damage the skin if not safe.

excellent location, beautiful building and impressive lobby
The check in process was really bad organised, it took us over 2 hours to get the room, we were herded from one place to another. Really not up to the standards of what a Grand Hyatt experience should be.

the location of the hotel and the view from the room was great - the room size also - all the staff is very professional, and always try to find solutions - but ...
I guess it is due to the chinese new year period, but the hotel was full and absolutely not organized to welcome, as it may , the customers- wait everyday a minimum of 30min to get your breakfast, wait 20min to check in, hopefully i had the option " lounge" but even over there, it was needed to wait outside to get a seat ( but it was faster ) ! the swimming pool' access was limited - ( but not the gym ??) -

facility is good
doesn’t really feel staying at 5 hotel. It was too many guests and waited around 20 min for checkin ,club lounge was full of people like family restaurant… It used be a nice 5 star hotel but this time feel like a very general family hotel.

The room is a decent size and looks nice inside. The location is on the bund and can get to other parts fairly well.
The restaurants and bars inside are lacking. If you don't book in advance, you won't be able to get a seat in the restaurants. The spa only does facials. I couldn't believe you can't get a massage there. The location is on the bundnin the finance district, which means there's nowhere to get food late at night, not even a convience store. The hotel bathroom was dirty in the shower area with that orange mildew all over the floor. It's also poorly built so that the shower isn't concealed. The water goes all over the floor.

We enjoyed the location and view.
The condition of the hotel, although clean, was outdated and a bit run down. For a 5 star hotel, it was disappointing. Also, every contact we had with hotel staff was disappointing. They were not very customer attentive. The restaurant food quality was not worth the price.

Really comfortable stay and wonderful helpful staff
AC made some noise one day at 5am for about 5 minutes. Luckily it ended soon after. Some noisy neighbours one weekend night too. But overall very satisfying stay.

Well, I was going to leave a good review, as the hotel itself is quite amazing, the view, the room. The night here was my surprise to my husband on our 10 years anniversary. I met a super nice lady at the reception, who gave us a free upgrade (it’s actually the reason why I’m giving it 5 points instead of one). But the breakfast ruined everything
I’m actually still in shock about the situation during the breakfast. So we were having breakfast with my husband, and it was actually quite good compared to Marriott and Sheraton where we stayed last week. And then my husband was like “look a cockroach!” I firstly thought it’s a joke. Our baby daughter was siting on my laps and only that made me not to make a scene as I wouldn’t want to scare here (and all the people around). That time a kitchen worker was passing by, who apparently noticed a shock on our faces. My husband pointed to the cockroach, and the guy started to catch the insect. But the cockroach was faster, it jumped down to my baby’s sling that was on a chair, but after all the guy caught it with his barehand (a kitchen worker!!!) and the cockroach was taken away.
It took us a couple of minutes to realize what has just happened. We called a waitress, who didn’t understand us, she called another guy whose first question was “did you take a photo of it” (yes of course the first thing I do when having breakfast with my baby daughter and husband on the first breakfast after our 10 years marriage anniversary is taking photos of insects in my food), and when he learned we don’t have a photo prove he said “ok thank you for information!” and almost ran away.
We were speechless. My husband had to leave to work quite early, so I finished the breakfast alone with the baby, thinking about our ruined experience. at the very end of the breakfast I asked the waiter if he told to a person in charge what had happened. only after that a manager came out, assured me that they are gonna inform the cleaning company (thank you very much), and gave me some candies.
Actually, a still kind of in shock, not only because the situation itself, but also of the reaction of the hotel. It felt like it’s absolutely ok to them, a cockroach on the table. cmon guys, you call yourself a five star hotel, you CANNOT have a cockroach in your restaurant.
