The hotel was lovely and welcoming. It had a nice atmosphere
Nothing

Characterful hotel in very central location; comfortable room with excellent shower; enjoyed the breakfast with good choice (did not have dinner); pleasant and helpful staff; car parking facility.
With limited space for clothes storage, a small chair would be handy for this purpose, as well as being something other than the bed to sit on.
4.3
Centrally located. Tasteful decor
There was a lot of noise after 11am for a few hours outside but not to do with the Bull Hotel and pub so nothing the could have done
4.3
Well located. At parking is free. Is busy so has a vibe. Live music.
Mould in the bathroom. 204. Slimy. Terrible breakfast. Eggs were hard boiled not poached. Raw mushrooms. Defrosted not cooked hash browns. Weird veggie breakfast. Uncooked black pudding. Odd.

It is in a great location with parking. We were two ladies of a certain age( older)! We found all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, from the delightful Emma on reception who went out of her way to find us a map of the local area through to the kind and thoughtful restaurant staff like Jack who was very helpful regarding the menu and gluten free options. The cocktail barman was also very helpful. All the staff we met were super!
The food was delicious both at breakfast and at dinner and we ate there both nights although we hadn’t planned too but changed our minds after enjoying a first rate meal the first night! Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff!
Our twin bedded room was very clean well appointed with everything we needed including Bramley toiletries , bottled water and lovely tea tray. We were there on one of the very rare hot nights this summer and very grateful for the potable room fan.
There is a lovely courtyard garden with plenty of seating should the weather be fine!

Reception staff are pleasant and welcoming, good location . And nice breakfast included.
The room looks a little tired , carpet was threadbare in one area. The bathroom floor squeaked and creaked which was quite annoying ! There’s a lot of clutter on the dressing table , so not much room to put personal things.

room decor was great
excellent location in the high street
good varied menu and not pricey
court yard had a nice vibe
staff very welcoming and friendly
would certainly go back there
the tv kept loosing the bbc signal but no big deal
4.3
Beautiful large room and bathroom and attractive, floral outside space. Very good breakfast which included fresh fruit salad.
Window was stuck open so we had a lot of noise disturbance from the bar/patio below.
Unfortunately the hotel (Fuller's chain)was spoilt by muzzak blaring morning to night in all areas- they adhere to this belief that music="atmosphere", even at breakfast. They turned it down but refused to consider that the customer might be right!
4.3
quirky but comfortable
stairs, no lift

We loved the location, breakfast, room decoration, and pizzeria!
I feel I should mention there was a used tissue behind the bedside table and a little clipboard under the sofa. The sofa cushions were also pretty stained, but everything else was great!
4.3
excellent hotel and pub! breakfast was impressive. And staff exceptional!
noisy back garden, but earplugs supported by staff. ok after all.
4.3
Great building, large ground floor bedroom with nice decor and toiletries. Staff friendly and efficient.
Did not sleep well. Duvet thin so quite cold. Didn't look for more blankets in cupboard as when arrived and opened door, moths flew out. Kept clothes in our bags. Room on ground floor so every noise heard from room above. They were up from 6am and decided to walk a marathon and cover every inch of floor for next hour! Food was also not that great. Had to hunt for the fish in the pie to find any and scrambled eggs at breakie overcooked. But easy to improve faults I mention.

The staff were excellent. Always helpful. Sophie in the dining room very polite and attentive. Nothing too much trouble.
Breakfast very good and lots of choice. Thought the pizza barn excellent, some of the best pizzas we have ever had. Service there good too
Had problems finding the car park. A different sat nav code to the hotel would have been helpful and maybe a map with directions how to access it.
Our room was good but would have benefitted from having a wardrobe with coat hangers. As we were staying 4 days somewhere to hang our clothes would have been nice. We had a sort of rail but no coat hangers
4.3
The room was cosy and the food was delicious
Room was quite dusty as were the corridors to the room. We had a kettle in the room and tea bags but no coffee and no teaspoon
4.3
everything. The building is fantastic. lots of different indoor and outdoor space, bars, restaurant, it’s own pizzeria. Well maintained, warm, cosy, welcoming.
Nothing

Breakfast was great, the bedroom suite was more than we expected.
Just great.
What’s not to like. There were building works going on at the time, but they have to happen at some time so you just take that into account.
4.3
We enjoyed our visit to the Bull, staff were very friendly and good location,
A poor shower in an otherwise good bathroom. Dogs in the restaurant so we didn’t go in there
4.3
I stayed in a deluxe twin room with two double beds. The beds were incredibly soft and comfortable. Nice duvets, premium amenities (coffee, shower items, etc). The bathroom and shower were large. Very clean and comfortable. Hotel has a nice bar for the evening and tasty breakfast.
4.3
location and price
sticky front door. could hear kitchen staff talking in the morning from my room
4.3
Staff were wonderful, friendly and professional.
There was nothing I didn't like, very much enjoyed my stay.
4.3
Nice rooms
Poor lighting in the bedroom - you couldn’t read it was so poor. The dinner was expensive for what it was. Better good and value at the Olive Tree opposite.
4.3
Everything. Cleanliness, staff, breakfast and location as relatives visiting live in the town. The room was unexpected with a wow factor modern and traditional with iron , ironing board, tea & chocolate drinks, bottled water. The artwork in the room was lovely as well as in the corridors. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to. Nothing to not like. The building was old which made the rooms etc a surprise
Nothing, although being picky would have liked somewhere for my towel but not really an issue
4.3
