La chambre est un vrai écrin à l'intérieur de la ville, la chambre avait une vue fantastique sur la ville, le restaurant gastronomique et le personnel étaient très accueillant, le parking
La climatisation plafonée aux alentours des 24 degrés

We were upgraded to a deluxe room by the very friendly and helpful concierge. The hotel was quite nice, spaces a bit larger and nicer than other hotels we stayed in in Germany. Nice little swimming pool and hot tub out back, with comfy robes provided by the hotel. Hotel is connected to a nice restaurant on the main street, where we enjoyed a really good lunch. The town of Gengenbach was quite lovely.
Dinner at the hotel though was disappointing. The staff was great, but the wait for food was too long. And the trout dish I ordered was really not good. We spent a lot of money for a mediocre meal.

Location, Design, Spa Area, Breakfast
Rooms could have been more „design-y/stylish“ touch. It was very clean and lovely but felt a bit standard rather than Design

Great hotel for couples or friends during a mellow trip through the Black forest. Breakfast was exceptional and had a great variety of food and sitting areas, as well as an information leaflet with travel recommendation, evening menu at the hotel's restaurant and updated info about the weather. Lobby and garden design were wonderful. Room was cozy but with ample space - especially the storage space -, had good air conditioning, nice view, good housekeeping, great Wi-Fi reception and a great bed. Staff were mostly lovely and pleasant. Location is great if you're not looking for a bustling city - we could eat in town every night in great restaurants, and enjoyed the view. We've met the owner and felt like he runs the hotel with great passion and pride in what he does. We'd definitely recommend this 4 star hotel which also felt like an upscale, lucrative B&B.
We arrived on a very hot day and were hoping someone will help escort us to the garage parking we reserved or assist with luggage, as well as turn on the AC in our room in advance, but it wasn't the case. The receptionist was very kind and informative but we've felt our check in was a bit dry.
No espresso machine in the room and espresso was not the best at the bar and dining room as well. No channels in English on the TV. Wasps bothered us a lot at the garden and we had a hard time dining there. Also, the décor in the floors outside the rooms is a bit outdated to my taste.
We had a great time and would come back here if given the chance, but these are just some small details that can be tweaked.

If you are travelling to the Black Forest then this is the perfect place to stay. Located right in the Center of Gengenbach and a short walk to the train station, it is the perfect place to base yourself for exploring the Black Forest. Everything about the hotel is great from the breakfast, restaurants, garden and outdoor pool area. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and you can really tell that the hotel has been done to a high standard with all the extra touches and finishes. The hosts are extremely friendly and were more than happy to help with car parking as well as helping us plan walks and activities. We will definitely recommend to friends/family and will visit again ourselves.

Breakfast was fantastic.
Had a bad experience when trying to change table at dinner time.
Overall the manager lady was not friendly nor helpful.
First there were "no tables available", then they moved another couple who arrived AFTER us. Then moved us in really BAD humour. This was the only negative asspect of our stay.

An exceptional boutique hotel! Wonderful food, pool area and outdoor terrace and garden.
Just a very small thing for the rooms without air con, ceiling fans and a fridge in the room would have been fab!

We loved our stay at this hotel. Some of the facilities are being worked on at the moment and the roof terrace was closed, which was a disappointment. However, the staff were all AMAZING and we loved hiring bikes and cycling around all the vineyards in the area.
Roof terrace was closed due to maintenance.
