Clare and Duncan are two of life's brilliant people. They exude kindness and warmth. Anyone who comes to stay here will not want to leave. It was such a pleasure to come back after so many years.
Leaving!

The Lodge is perfect - just everything! Claire and Duncan make you feel at home from day one and you'll be a part of the Lodge-Family. You'll have a nice kitchen to cook with other same-minded guests from all over the world. A living room for relaxed evenings is right next to it. The place is very clean (gets cleaned daily) and well organized.
Highlight is ofc the surf-lessons with Duncan and Dane; ideal for Beginner-Intermediate Surfers who really want to improve. The best lessons I've ever had!
Thank you Claire, Duncan and Dane - see you soon!

Great location, close to the coast. Hosts were very friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable. Equipment and transfers for surfing was available for a fair price. Other guests in the hostel were lovely.

Claire made sure I had a room that accommodated my need to work remotely. Daily surf trips were great as Duncan and Dane were both knowledgeable and enthusiast guides. Great for solo travellers.

Claire and Duncan were very kind, helpful and the whole atmosphere was familylike, in its best meaning. I got some useful tips for surfing as well, felt all the time that i'm important here and not only my money. The hostel was nice and clean, the rules clear and acceptable.
Thank you guys, i want to come back asap!:)
I cannot say anything bad.

After arriving at the lodge, we found a clean room, the check-inn was done by ourselves. That was fine and for us totally ok.
The host contacted us after arriving and told us that it is not well seen if we do not want join him to the surf camp or rent something somewhere else. We were irritated, as we wanted from the beginning of our stay in Peniche join our friend who has his own boards and stuff in the city. After telling this to the host, he told us that he and his family business is in a bad situation due to corona crisis and therefore we should join him and support his business. But: who is not in crisis in 2020? Most people are, maybe even his clients are.
As clients in the lodge we felt not very comfortable to argue even twice that we have different plans and do not want to join to the surf camp.
After a good sleep at the first night in the lodge we woke up and wanted to have breakfast. Unfortunately, there was no real breakfast, only some musli which would be ok if there was milk. But there was no milk for us that morning. We contacted the host and told him, he promised to deliver milk and excused. So for us there was no real breakfast even though we paid for it. However, at the last day we could eat musli with some milk.

The location of the accommodation, the condition of the rooms and the included breakfast was very good. I particularly liked the enthusiasm and dedication of the hosts which resulted in a good team spirit of all guests and made my stay unforgettable.

Great hospitality! The setting was really relaxed and very welcoming.
Check-in was a little bit unclear. We missed a short briefing about how everything works, surfing and appartement/lodge wise. But at the end nothing to complain!
