The waitress that served our dinner.
The bottle of wine.
The garden.
Where do I start! Hardly got any sleep.
The bathroom window did not open and the shower and sink taps only had cold water.
It was the hottest day of the year and there was no fan, the bedroom window only opened about 9 inches, the bed was so uncomfortable. When we asked for a fan we were told they were all out. Our breakfast was very average and the egg was dripping in grease. I wish we had gone a few yards down the road into the little cafe and eaten there.
I would not recommend this place for staying or eating, even my Butternut and Quinoa salad was in large clumps and oil dripping from it. A nearby couple ordered Sea bass and that was undercooked. My husband thick cut chips looked and tasted liked they had been re cooked from the day before.

Well located for walking into Brockenhurst and the New Forest but on very busy and noisy A road which several of the rooms in the main building overlook. The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of free on-site car parking.
The room that we were allocated did not live up to our expectations that had been set by the information and images on the Huntsman's website and Booking.com. There was no walk-in shower in the bathroom that the website said was standard for this level of accommodation (Deluxe Double). When we queried this, we were told that this was an upgrade option.
Generally, the room was not well maintained.
8.0
The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The shampoo/body wash was actually really nice. I don't normally mention the toiletries, but had to on this occasion. The pub also served really nice food and had a great atmosphere.
Nothing

Tired looking room. Flush didn’t work. Room right next to pub garden so curtains had to be drawn to maintain privacy. Tables right outside window. We felt rushed at breakfast and at check out
5.0
very dismal, no cereal on offer or toast with marmalade etc cooked breakfast was ok
found carpets dirty , could have had a light that worked over the wash basin as bathroom rather dark as was the bedroom
6.0
Staff were on the whole friendly.
Food was good, decent beers (minus the Guinness).
Located in the middle of the village, ideal for us.
Expensive for the rooms. Room advertised on booking.com was nothing like what we got. Very dated, shower was extremely grubby, didn't drain, and the bathroom window didn't open, it had been sealed and painted over.
10.0
Great pub great food great location
4.0
It has great potential but staff weren’t great or overly helpful.
Bath spouted water everywhere
Bed was on casters that moved
Paper thin walls
Staff were unhelpful - we couldn’t eat in restaurant and yet could see free /unmade up tables.
Impatient in the morning when went for breakfast
Nobody about when we wanted to check out and leave feedback

We ate lunch at the Huntsman when we arrived and this was very good.
The cleanliness of the room. Very dusty, mirror, bedside light fittings etc. Water in both the kettle and coffee maker which is a no, no. Key for return to facility by gate rather than through the pub, did not need to work and gate was unlocked at all times - gate needs to be lifted to fit the lock latch - unsecure.
5.0
It was an ideal location for where we were going.
Check in could have been more pleasant,

Ideally situated as a touring or walking base for this area of the New Forest. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Rooms located in a courtyard area away from the road. Food available all day. Would stay again.
To be helpful: bring your own mug if you like to drink lots of tea/coffee as the cups in the room were a bit small. Need to put lampshades over the 'Edison filament' style bulbs used. Their brightness caused some discomfort to our older eyes, but we did enjoy our stay none-the-less :-)

Food was good
Staff a bit aloof
No info on area
Room was noisy overlooking road

we upgraded to a family room and it had some lovely touches
both order fillet steak, one med rare and one medium both came out the same and were very chewy for a fillet! maybe they weren’t left to rest after coming out of the fridge?
9.0
The room was very large and tastefully decorated - lots of attention to detail.
The complementary toiletries were not as stated - but that is the only criticism! Everything else was spot on!
7.0
Location. Clean room and bathroom.
Not enough towels. Not enough tea, coffee, milk. wanted to charge extra for milk. staff not very friendly. Breakfast was adequate.

location was amazing. Room clean and really comfortable bed perfect room for somewhere to sleep. Staff were all so so lovely and helpful
Pillows were really flat, and breakfast was ok but pricey for what it was.
9.0
Excellent location for exploring, friendly staff, spacious and nicely decorated rooms, very comfortable bed & a good selection of vegetarian options in the restaurant - all in all I was very pleased with my stay.
The bathroom was a little bit tired and could do with touching up however this would not stop me from returning.
6.0
Great location, good parking, nice decor, excellent service, lovely food in the evening
The blind in the room could not be opened - we were told not to touch it as it had been pulled off the wall by a previous guest. The noise of the kitchen extractor system is constant which as we had the "outside" room disturbed sleeping, as did the banging from a gate or similar in the neighbours garden right outside the window. We were given no choice or menu for breakfast which I found odd. we were served a pre-prepared full English breakfast without anyone asking if that's what we actually wanted for breakfast.
5.0
nice area comfortable
over priced and some things need to be repaired
soap dispensers didn’t work
big gaps under front door allowing wind in
needs a bit of decorations done
bathroom fan noisy

The location was great. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the staff very friendly and efficient. Our room was attrative and lovely and warm. Delicious breakfast.
The room was badly lit and needed a few maintenance issues sorting out.
5.0
Staff were very supportive.
Toilet and bath were in poor condition.
6.0
Great breakfast.
Bar shut very, very early, and you can't put anything on the room.
Rooms in the former stables, ie. not the main house, have wafer thin walls, you could hear everything (and I do mean everything).
7.0
very nice pub and great location
just the room got too hot and there was a drone noise all night .. maybe a boiler ?
4.0
It was a nice place and although we did not eat there the evening meal looked ok.
Although there was an issue on booking in the lady was understanding and helpful and was able to sort it out, however adding an extra cost. We were provided with extra bedding but that was jut put in the room and told us to make the bed up. Breakfast was cold and minimal, the vegetarian option was full english with no sausage or bacon added, little poor. The waitress, an Irish oldish lady was extremely rude, thought it was just us but witness her manners with others, not what i would expect.
8.0
Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were excellent and very polite.
Limited evening meal menu due to staff shortage. No heating on in the room making it seem cool at night.
