Very well maintained hostel with great location and excellent on site catering and bar. We really enjoyed staying there and would recommend this to other travelers looking for economic option to stay in Nuremberg.
Room does not have air-conditioning, which may spoil the stay if there are high temperatures (above 30 degrees Celsius) outside. Thick walls in lover floors help.
4.3
Central location, short walk to the centrum, breakfast
Pain in the back from the bed, no stop contacts around the bed, no privacy in the bathroom. No parking around, high hill to climb to get to this location from the centrum

The staff is friendly
4.3
Great location for exploring the old part of Nuernberg as it is right next door to the Imperial Castle plus 15 minutes easy walk to the U2 underground station at Rathenauplatz, which links straight to the airport. The staff were really helpful, the rooms functional and clean, and the breakfast offered a great choice. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or visit again.
There was a bit of noise from the floors above, but nothing we didn't expect as we were staying in a Youth Hostel.

This was an amazing youth hostel!
We loved the breakfast area that was high ceilinged stone walled great room with a huge fireplace and was just a wonderful space. Even reception has an ornate carved stone staircase which is a lovely change from some of the more utilitarian places we've stayed.
The building itself is one of the highest points in Nuremburg so the views from the rooms are amazing.
Breakfast was very good.
The room was quite small and the bathroom in the room was also extremely cozy. We did have a lot of luggage but still when you're sharing with friends it's hard to maintain privacy when there is not room to dry off and get some undies on outside the shower. It wasn't an insurmountable issue though and I'd definitely recommend the hostel to anyone.
The hostel is at the top of a hill, not so bad for the fit and healthy but we needed a taxi to and from the station with all our luggage.
4.3
Bit pricey compared to other hostels I've been to but it's very nice and there's the novelty of it being a castle. Facilities very clean and there's a dining area that's open all night if you want to stay up and have a chat.
It's at the top of a large hill. Most of it was cobblestones on the way up and down so you have to gently manoeuvre your luggage.

A unique experience - a hostel in a castle. It was the first time we were in a hostel. The experience exceeded my expectations. Good breakfast!
4.3
Exemplary accommodation - it should be renamed "Youth and Family Hostel"
Excellent location, beatiful setting in the old Imperial Castle of Nuremburg. The stairways and some of the halls are old, old, old and the kids love it.
Excellent reception and personal attention - they responded by email to our request of a 5 Person family room (not visible on booking.com)
We saw a lot of happy families and children there, playing games and using the hang-out places in the lobby. The rooms are kept simple in the "hostel" ethos
Plentiful breakfast was included
10 min walking from U-Bahn to the airport (every 10 min service, 10 min journey)
We would stay there again.
Initially we were slightly put out by the price for a "hostel", but well worth it. It is hard to find reasonably-priced family accommodation in Germany.
4.3
The opportunity to live in a real castle - kids and parents were really excited.
Affordable prices for food and drinks.
Really beautiful surroundings.
The sustainability trend is great - but without air-conditioning and even a simple fan ib the room, it is a torture to sleep - the windows cannot be open fully, so in many rooms and the windows and the doors were open during the night to ensure a proper airflow - but even with that it is extremely hot and you can feel lack of oxygen.
Maybe it is applicable for the summer time only, but this is a serious disadvantage.

Beautiful castle, amazing location, lively, clean room, good food and good value for money
4.3
the facilities were excellent! the beds were very comfortable.
you have to walk up a very big hill to get to it
4.3
very cool building
very hot and no airflow
4.3
The kindness of the staff, the location and how the showers show your water consumption.
It was hard to get up the hill with our luggage
4.3
It’s a real castle 800(?) years old that you can stay in! Facilities inside are modern and clean.
No parking (but you can find parking not too far away), and you have to walk back up the hill to get back to the place anytime you leave.
4.3
Clean, easy and great staff!

What's not to like about sleeping in a castle tower looking down on a beautiful city? We had the penthouse room at the top of the tower because we needed four beds and wanted a private bathroom. This room did not disappoint. It was so spotlessly clean and new we felt like we were the first guests ever to stay there! The beds, the decor, the lighting, the storage space was perfect and so was the bathroom. The hostel lobby and guest areas were beautiful. Free breakfast was excellent! Next time I hope to stay longer.
4.3
The toilets in the rooms had an odour ( a pungent smell) especially the bathroom.
4.3
Staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite!
4.3
It was easy to find and the check-in was easy as well. Lovely room with a nice view. It was a very environmentally friendly hotel! The breakfast was vegetarian.
There was no soap in the dorm room so you could not properly wash your hands. It was mentioned that there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms but the Wi-Fi in the lobby was strong enough to reach the room I was in.
