L’emplacement.

Everything was great

We stayed for a week and it was wonderful, we loved the beautiful nature with an amazing amount of birds and the great view from the restaurant, rooms were nice, very friendly staff and the food was good. We worked at night in La Somone and it was great fun to drive in the very early morning back to the lodge. The sound of hyena's and jackals far away at night I will never forget, such an amazing location!
I hope we can return one day.

i liked to be in the nature, no accomodation or roads around, very beautiful surroudings, very well maintained gardens. I really liked the staff which was very supportive and on point at any time. I appreciated the flexibility I was given regardin my late departure.
I had higher expectations from the add. for example the indoors and confort of the room.
I also wished it was closer to Somone beach.
the common bathroom was very smelly.

We enjoyed our stay at the Dalaal Diam Lodge. The facilities are nice, with two swimming pools with a very nice view. Great place to relax and disconnect.
The location is quite remote, which you probably know but the road is in bad shape and we had difficulties with our rental car. Besides, I was negatively surprised that it was very difficult as a vegetarian to get food at the restaurant. There is one dish per day offered for dinner (and no lunch) and not always a vegetarian option was possible - and there are no restaurants around as you can imagine. The rooms are not bad but not well maintained. The hose for the shower for example had many holes so that rinsing off shampoo was difficult.

I really enjoyed to stay at Dalaal Diam. I love the concept of Eco Lodge and the story of Celine. I was worried at first as I read some reviews on water and electricity but we had no problem at all. There was always water when needed, and never had problem with electricity either. The atmosphere was very relaxed and quiet. I loved the location and the walk between the room and the main restaurant. Will be back soon.

Celine built a beautiful lodge, in the middle of the nature and in total harmony with it. Facilities are very nice, even though some could be slightly renovated (sliding doors), but it has a ton of charm whatsoever and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to disconnect to stay there.
We did a hike to Guéréo from the lodge, along the lagoon - then crossed the water at Chez Rasta and then walked back to the lodge at sunset, on the other side of the lagoon from Somone, that was gorgeous.
Also, the food was very very good and you could tell it was from local products - I liked the fact that you don't have an exhaustive list of options but rather Celine asks you in the morning or the evening before to check that you're good with what she's found at the market. Desserts were so good as well.
Also, a lot of activities (pool, tennis, badminton, etc.) are provided, as well as board games and lots of comic books!
Overall, communicating with Céline was very easy and efficient, which has made our stay even more appreciated.
Merci !
Our room was part of a bigger facility which was pretty noisy, in the sense that you could hear other rooms.
This is not the lodge's fault but be aware that on week end days, you may be surrounded with family with (potentially loud) kids, which reduces the "in-the-middle-of-nowhere peaceful feeling" this lodge invites you to at first sight. That being said - one day I may be one of those families and I'll be happy to be received in such places :)
The breakfast could be a bit improved, with nice fresh juice (we had to request for some orange juice - pressea - on both days as it was not brought otherwise) and maybe eggs? We didn't ask but no one suggested, we only had bread (good one!) with jam/butter and some fruit.
I'm just being picky because overall, the place is 100% recommended!

great location and service, staff was accommodating and welcoming
a bit pricey for the quality although lower maintenance may be dependant on 2 hard years with covid

The staff! The animals- dogs, cats, donkeys, horses! The remoteness! The concept! The good dinner! Fred is full of knowledge and a great host!
Nothing- the hotel is undergoing renovations which I know will enhance the guest experience even more!
