The breakfast was a Costa Rican typical fare. The host served the same breakfast daily. This was fine with myself and friends as we were able to cook and add things like sausage to our plates if desired ~
Not on the host but Costa Rica goes to bed early. The sun is down by 6 pm and quiet hours are observed shortly after through the night. A few times the pool and facilities would shut down early if no one was using them. This could be a bother on occasion if we didn't arrive back at the room until after things had been shut down at 7pm vs the 10pm time posted.

The hostel itself is beautifully decorated and furnished. The garden invites you to relax. A paradise in the jungle, close to the beach. The breakfast was great and huge!
The beds are comfortable. In general, the hostel was very well organized with the colors of the towels, food boxes for the fridge for each guest and things like that. But…
First of all, I didn’t like that I paid more than I had to according to booking. I paid in colones and not in US dollars (as USD is not Costa Rica’s currency…). When I asked what the price would be in colones, they made me pay something between 10-15 USD more (I don’t remember the exact amount). Unfortunately, I realized that later on when I calculated my expenses.
I slept in a dorm with 4 beds. There were ventilators for each person but the room is definitely way too small for 4 sweating people. It smelled bad and was everything but comfortable.

good breakfast- decent size
Maybe start breakfast at 7am. If you rise early, 8am is a long wait.Maybe has a bowl of fruit also as an option instead of the same meal everyday

The atmosphere and attention to details, as well as the breakfast and cleanliness were second to none. The beach is only 150m from the property.

Come to this cozy, colorful jungle where breakfest was excellent, garden and relax areas were so good that CasaJungla will be a place you imagine from now on then you think about retreat. :)))
3 komplete bathrooms, beautifully decorated like rest of the accomodation, always clean, and they put new towels on your bed every other day. Thank you, you are excellent example on how to run a hostel! :))
Air conditions in the rooms will help people rest more from the heat.

The location is off the main strip and more quiet. Great breakfast and traveler company. Not a party hostel and helpful staff.

Breakfast was amazing. Big portion too. Lovely garden to relax in, friendly dog if you want companion. Owners were lovely. Amazing shower. Bungs had proper steps not ladders
Only problem I could find was the pillow abit lumpy but bed so comfy didn't notice after a short while

nice garden, landlady is pleasant
very unfriendly and unwelcoming housekeeper who bosses guests around (just ask nicely!)

I really loved this hostel. It’s about a mile from the main part of jaco, which I enjoyed as it was a little quieter. They have bikes you can borrow to go downtown but also walking distance.
The kitchen area was stellar!! Super clean and organized, was so refreshing compared to other hostel kitchens.
Cute dog <3
Garden in the back was so lovely. And bonus points from me for the outside shower option!
Lovely hosts who spoke very good English.
Breakfast and coffee was yummy and super filling.
Overall loved

This was a very pleasant experience. the owners are very nice and they are easy to talk with. very informative on anything you need.
Rooms: We stayed in a private room. very spacious with ceiling fans.
Beds: very comfy and 2 pillows/person
Common areas: a variety of different areas snd experiences. living room in the front with couches and chairs. kitchen +dining area very spacious with large table. Garden has a few hammocks and garden furniture under a tent so you’re not in the sun/ rain.
Kitchen: Well equipped.
Fridge: Only one fridge but it’s a small hostel so we all managed.
Extras: There are a few bicycles which are free for the first hour then they charge 2,000 colónes if you take additional hours. Surf boards available.
Breakfast: Coffee is prepared early in the morning and they serve you breakfast at the table. Typical Tico breakfast.
Very safe hostel as most places in CR.
10-12 minutes walk to downtown by road. A few minutes less via the beach. 5 minutes by bicycle.

Incredible place, at the border of Jaco. Super tranquila vibes, a wonderful garden, comfy rooms, and the most beautiful decoration and kitchen area I have ever seen in a hostel. Clean and tidy, without a doubt, the best hostel we have stayed in CR sofar. The breakfast is also delicious, best gallo pinto sofar (btw I would love to have the recipe of that)
Everything was fine 🙂

Away from the noise of Jaco, but still within 15-20min walk from the center, the hostel is perfect for anyone looking for tranquility and proximity to the beach. The hosts are super welcoming, they make you feel at home immediately. Some reviews mentioned the rules being to strict, to which I clearly disagree. They are necessary to ensure cleanliness and comfort of all the guests, especially in “party town” places like Jaco.
For anyone looking to socialize, there is a garden space and a big kitchen table where people usually take breakfast together. The common spaces are really cosy, and the kitchen is decently well equipped if you really want to cook.
I had a double bed room, it was small but cosy, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, I really enjoyed my weekend there! Thank you Casajungla.
Nothing, but some suggestion:
- Breakfast could be a little more diverse. Gallo Pinto is fine if it’s your first time traveling in Costa Rica, but it gets a bit old if you’ve been staying here for some time. Perhaps pancakes, French crepes or something really simple to do could be good, especially for people staying for several days.
- Tea is available at every moment of the day, but coffee was only for breakfast, which I found a bit odd considering we are in a country that is known for its coffee. A simple coffee maker would have been good to have access to.

I enjoyed the large complimentary breakfast. The rooms were tidy and the bathrooms were always clean. Surrounded by nature it has a nice calm vibe.

The location of the hostel is good, close to the beach but a bit outside of Jaco (+- walking distance to Jaco centre). The place was clean.
It was quite noisy (I know it's a hostel) as the rule of no noise after 10 pm wasn't really reinforced with the other guests.
The hospitality seemed a bit forced, not natural.
The breakfast is only being served between 8 and 9 with is very restrictive I think.
The fact that you can only pay in cash is not normal in my eyes (we didn't know at the moment of booking and would have probably chosen another hostel as we have fees with every money withdrawal).
For me the price was too high for what it is.

Very good breakfast, much better than typical hostel one

Very close to the main beach of Jaco and a short (10-15 min) walk into town, so the location was great because it was both convenient and quiet. Cute garden with nice places to sit. Breakfast was the best free one we had in Costa Rica. Rooms are secure and there is a gate out front so it feels very safe.
Beds were a bit uncomfortable, and the rooms could use more hooks to hang towels and stuff. The showers didn't have hot water which is not ideal.

Good location, friendly staff and yummy breakfast. Lovely garden out the back too, just make sure you put insect repellent on!
Our room was a bit stuffy, but not unexpected without air conditioning!
