Amazing private getaway place in the “jungle”.
7.0
location and layout
looking a little tired and the hot water shower turned to a dribble at times. Also the wood burning stove chimney was partially blocked.

Rachel is a superhost. She makes sure everything is alright at the cottage before we checked in and during our stay. The cottage is extremely well managed, with attention to details, spacious with a terrace, the bed is comfortable and we did have good sleep after long hours drive. The kitchen is fully equipped and clean. The location is ideal for us for trips both to Brecons Beacon and Tenby. I highly recommended the Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages.

Liked that the cottage was in it's own grounds with 120 acres to wander through with dog. Liked the stylish decor and level of comfort. I found the bed very comfortable and slept well.
The only disappointment was there wasn't a bath which Booking.com listing included

Super clean facility including the bathroom and toilet, best judges are always my 17 and 12 year old who are extremely picky about where they stay. Easy to find, convenient to park and property was warm and toasty when we arrived ready for us. The babbling brook nearby welcomed us first, the weather was rainy but balmy so we were able to explore the various nooks and crannies around the property as well. The information manual was meticulous, much appreciated! Overall excellent stay! Thank you!
Would have liked a selection of board games and puzzles etc to keep teenagers and adults busy. Although there were some for toddlers.

Everything. Yr Hen ysgol is an absolutely beautiful house, that had everything we needed for a family holiday.
The ability to light a fire in the evening in the living room was lovely.
We loved the stunning gardens and surrounding countryside.
Honestly, nothing.

This cottage is beautiful, we loved the setting and the feel of the place.
Comfortable beds and lovely bedding.
The cleaning lady we spoke to was lovely.
The main bathroom was disappointing, filling the bath even to half way took ages, and the shower was very temperamental.

Everything about these cottages are BEAUTIFUL. Spectacular area with beautiful surroundings. The owners are wonderful and nothing is too much for them. Thank you so much for the most amazing little stay for our little family. We will definitely be back in the future.
There was nothing that we did not like about the property. Everything was perfect.

The cottage has been been beautifully refitted in a modern style with enough original features to maintain a rustic country feel. Very comfortable all around. We were met on arrival by the owner who was very welcoming and explained everything well. The view at the top of the farm trail was amazing.
Unfortunately the walking trail around the farm land has not been well kept, and in places the path was clogged with nettles, or went through very muddy ground.

Cottage was brilliant, well equipped, warm and comfortable.
Location amazing, lovely countryside enjoyed great walks.
Especially loved the steam flowing by the cottage.
Road leading to the cottages could do with some lighting at night.

Great location. Really pretty and the standard of accommodation was great. Found the itinerary and useful info book (it was extensive!) really helpful. Also loved the constant sound of the river.
Your quite close to/overlooked by the other properties but that wasn’t a bother really. It’s all very peaceful and quiet.

We felt as though we were away from everything in this beautiful cottage with the soothing sounds of the stream in the background, stunning grounds and breathtaking Manor House to look out on. Our stay was very comfortable in this tasteful and well furnished accommodation. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly thus making my special birthday weekend a huge success!
The historical book of Plas Farm (written by the owners) made an interesting read. Our beautiful dogs were delighted to be able to join us too and enjoyed walks around the surrounding areas, especially the beaches close by.
Thank you for everything!
We struggled using the Rayburn oven on the first morning but the helpful owners saved my birthday breakfast!

Fantastic location, quite and rural, but close to the main towns and roads too. The estate was picturesque and charming and the house was very comfortable and as big cooks the kitchen was very well equipped. We met one of the owners as we arrived who was very friendly, helpful and was very happy to help with anything we should need. Also we loved everything was eco friendly, we will be back for sure.

Self catered
It may have been due to Covid but the areas around the cottages looked a little tired and uncared for. ie, weeds and grass were evident.

Beautiful stream outside the cottage. Cottage nice and bright and well equipped and lovely deep bath.
Blind shut on the skylight above bed and cob webs on ceiling
