Great week at this cottage in Charlevoix. We felt lucky to score a week during the Venetian Festival. Easy walk to town, easy drive to three beaches, great for day trips to Petoskey and Mackinac Island. Owner was easy to get in touch with, the house was clean, full of fun antiques and lots of extras. Would gladly stay again.

Our extended family of 8 enjoyed the Craftsman Cottage. The two air conditioners on the top floor were welcome in the August heat. Walking into town for dinner was easy, but we had several meals at home - the kitchen is well-supplied and has some modern updates. The host has anticipated what might be needed. The single shower was not a problem, even with 6 active young adults. Charlevoix is a lovely town with a variety of activities and restaurants but centrally located for day trips to Petoskey, Sleeping Bear, and Mackinac Island. We had a great vacation and would stay at the Craftsman Cottage again.

Our family stayed at the Craftsmen cottage the last week of June. We had a wonderful time.
The cottage is very nice and well decorated. There were 10 people and 1 German Schnauzer in our party (6 adults and 4 kids between the ages of 12 and 6). There was plenty of room. The large kitchen and dining area worked out great for us. When not sightseeing we spent time on the front porch putting together puzzles, playing board games, or just plain relaxing. There are 4 bedrooms and the beds were very comfortable and the 2 full baths worked well for our group (we never ran out of hot water). The fenced in back yard is very spacious and the kids had a great time playing lawn games.
Charlevoix is an amazing town on Lake Michigan. There are many sights to see, great restaurants, and beautiful scenery. Mackinac Island is an hour away and it too is worth the visit. The town's beaches are very nice and well kept and the kids and adults spent much time looking for the infamous "Petoskey" rocks.
The Leitner's have succeeded quite well making their cottage comfortable for their guests. Thank you for sharing it with us.

The Craftsman Cottage is such a charming place to stay!! The furnishings and décor are so cottagey and charming... you truly feel like you're "up north". The home is very well stocked and there is also plenty of space to put away your own things while visiting. The owner was very helpful with information about the cottage and the area in general. I also can't say enough about the location... it offers something for everyone whether you like to walk to town for dinner and ice cream, go to the park to see all the happenings, walk to the pier or the very private Lake Michigan beach with a cup of coffee in the morning or an evening sunset. Perfect! We can't wait to go back!

The Craftsman Cottage location and an opportunity to bring our dog with us instead of boarding him attracted
us to this property. It was our first visit to Charlevoix, so we were not aware how busy Petosky Avenue is at all times and especially at night. Another surprise was the absence of air conditioner and the size of the two bathrooms, which were tiny, and only one having a shower head. The corner lot is huge and fenced, so it is perfect for families with children and pets, very safe. Since we were two couples in our fifties and early sixties, live in Ohio, where humidity in summer months mandates having air conditioner, it took us two days adjusting to having hot nights with fans going, and noisy street outside.
Everything else was absolutely perfect inside the house. Kitchen and all appliances were new and very good quality, good beds, linens, towels and variety of supplies in the kitchen, bathrooms and closets. When we had questions, Gary was responding immediately. House has
a garage with extra fridge, two bikes, a lot of beach chairs, hammock outside and finished basement with extra TV and entertainment set, and great variety of board games. Beach accessibility and downtown are in such short walking distance. And of course having 4 bedrooms with three queen and king size beds, and one with three beds for children makes this house outstanding for the family vacation. We love Michigan. Thank you, Gary.

For more than ten years we have made an annual trip to northern lower Michigan with repeat stays in Charlevoix. This year all of my kids and grandkids were able to make he trip. This Charlevoix Craftsman Cottage was absolutely perfect to very comfortably accommodate all of us (10). The front porch was a nice escape for morning coffee or reading. The detail of this home was incredible and exceeded our expectations. From the extremely well equipped kitchen to the handsome craftsman furnishings and decor, we couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and warm stay. The fenced back yard was a plus and the garage housed bikes, beach chairs, coolers -- all things you won't need to pack. The garage also has a refrigerator that was very handy as we spent hours in the yard. There also is a small fire pit for a nice evening fire. The cottage is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown, an added bonus. The owners were great to work with and responded promptly. It is very evident that the owner takes great pride in this home.
