Coffee plantation was interesting. Food was very good.
Next to main road, which can be noisy 24/7.

An impressive Lodge nestled in the coffee fields of Arusha. Not only offering lovely cabins with luxurious bedding and bathrooms, but also a nice pool to dip in after a long day of safari - or work in my case. A big plus is their community work: Shanga workshop employing disabled and deaf people from around Arusha area is located on the grounds. And a zuri café called "kahawa" (Swahili for coffee;). You then totally realize you are in Africa when the breakfast has to be watched over by game keeper - because of the monkey families living on the premises. Definitively a stay to come back to!
Prices are obviously for foreigners - the 60min massage was 120,00USD which is expensive even in Europe.

It is a pleasure to stay here... An oasis of rest is the bustling area of Arusha... The luxury bungalows in the middle of the coffee-plantage and beautiful nature are stunning... The food in both the bistrot and the restaurant are great... and we were absolutely charmed by the social project Shanga.org that is hosted on the property, where disabled Tanzanians are working in creative sustainable jobs that are implemented in the hotel, for example all glasses are handblown bij Shanga! Big respect for the owners to implement this!
We were not very keen on the bean-to-bar coffee tour, but that might be something personal...

Elewana is well located, private, and has a feeling of exclusivity. The food is great, the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend this as a couple location.
I have no complaints.

The property was beautiful and secure. The service was exceptional and the food was excellent. I had a wonderful, reasonably priced massage.

Location stunning . Coffee tour well worth it and very interesting. Sitting watching the monkeys with their babies, drinking a cup of tea on the verandah was magical.
Most staff absolutely amazing, however just a few (and only a few), seemed to find everything all too much effort, especially one or two at breakfast. Wrong breakfast orders, orders not arriving, having to look for staff to help. The actually breakfast food, choice, taste, variety was the best we have ever had.
Apart from that, the whole place is magical and we will definitely return.
See above. Just a few staff at breakfast complacent.

the location and property are very good. The food was very good as well, definitely exceeded my expectation. The staff was friendly and helped me procure some ice at 4am!
the room felt a bit run down, and i spent the night in the company of mosquitos (the spray can provided in the room was finished)

The staff and management is exceptional and so so friendly. The food was outstanding and even though we tried going into town for food a few times, we enjoyed it better at the hotel. The room was really nice and spacious as well as clean and had everything we wanted. The park (coffee plantation) it is situated in is beautiful and the daily visits of the Vervet Monkeys is really neat. We absolutely loved it here.
If someone is staying for a longer period, more than 3 days or so, it would be great to have a simple gym for them to be able to do some training in (run, cycle etc.)

The rooms were beautiful, the food excellent….I loved the deck.

The coffee
1) The hotel forgot to pick us up from the airstrip, we waited an hour alone outside at the street. A stranger gave us his phone to be able to contact the hotel then they sent someone to take us.
They lied telling us that the car tyre had problem, knowing that the hotel is located 2 minutes away from the airstrip.
Arriving at the hotel, at the reception they confirmed this lie and did not apologize or give any more explanations.(later we spoke to the driver and he admit that the tyre problem was a lie.)
2) Our breakfast boxes were forgotten for our safari trip of the next day; we had to remind them to prepare it. We cancelled our breakfast box for the last day at 11pm the day before when they told us it was alredy ready for the next day😂
3) The service and the quality of the food was bad for a hotel of 500$/night.
4) The rooms and the hotel are COMPLITELY dark!! The floor in the room is slippery, we almost fell down every time from the stairs. The sink of the bathroom is leaking, the night lamps are broken, the plugs in the power outlet are falling in pieces, the windows are uncloseable and there is no bottled drinking water in the room. The privacy of the room is really bad, you are exposed to the whole hotel.
5)It took us 30 minutes to convience them to open the coffee shop to be able to buy coffee.
6) Our flight got cancelled so we asked them to cancel our airport transfer to Kilimanjaro, they wanted to charge us the price of the transfer (150$) saying that it was not cancelable also at check out they wanted to charge us the forgotten transfer from our first day, we had to call the general manager and speak with him for 10 min to cancel the charges.
7) Two of the waiters working at the main restaurant tried to take our paper reviews from us to avoid us to give it to the manager.

The place is quite organized with a restaurant, a bistro and a sandwich bar. Rooms are big, the suite's bathroom is really nice.
On arrival I am brought to a room, but i had booked a suite. I tell so to the lady that was with me and she retorted that that was a suite. Of course not. After i protested, i got my room.
A lot of water went on the floor out of the bathtub; i thought the fan was broken because nobody told me there was a switch near the bed too. Food was mediocre, few tasty dishes, completely tasteless fruit, except for the bananas.
While I'm having breakfast at least 2 different people came by to ask if everything was ok. The first time i tried to say that not everything was great, but they already had the answer for it: they don't want to listen, they just want to know that they are doing fine. No butter nor jam came with the toasts. A waiter comes by and asks me if coffee is ok, i say yes and he takes the coffee pot out with him. I'm not kidding. It happened!
Washbasins both in the room and in the suite are not practical at all, there is not enough room for hands and face! Rooms are dark and the restaurant is too
At the bistro for dinner i had a bill of 158.000 Tanzanian shillings but the real bill was only 58.000. In my dish there was a chapati cut in half but the two halves didn't belong together and one was clearly burned. It seemed like a candid camera, but i payed 600$ for this disaster!!
The coffee tour should have lasted 30-40 minutes maximum, because we spent at least 20 minutes walking on and trying to find other examples of what i had already seen. It is nice and informative but 1 hour is way too much.
I did not also like finding 'mozzarella di bufala' and pretzels at the sandwich bar: do they really need to make mozzarella travel all the way to Arusha? How about something a bit more local?
On the reception table there is a proud sign that they won some Tripadvisor's prize on 2012. How is it possible that they don't understand that this shows they haven't won a thing for the past 7 years?
