Will book again when in Retford

The guest house is in a quiet location so we had a good night’s sleep. We had the breakfast that came in the price. We helped ourselves but everything was set out in an orderly manner in a very pleasant dining room. Plenty of choice of teas, orange juice, some fresh raspberries, lovely fresh bread for the toaster and a selection of conserves. Everything is clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The furnishings are, I would say, 1990s floral and frilly, and give a very homely feel.

I prefer cereals from a variety pack instead of plastic containers.

An excellent base for our overnight stay.

The host couldn’t provide breakfast, as our party was too big, but he researched and recommended a local establishment we could go to. This was a very thoughtful and useful service.

Although the weather was warm, winter covers were on some of our beds (we had three rooms).

Our host Chris was very friendly, such a nice man. His advice on local places to get a bite to eat was spot on, thanks Chris! If I am in the area again I will definatly stay here again.

Adequate given price paid.

I needed to stay somewhere that was low cost and central to Retford. I didn't have breakfast. I was greeted well, always nice to have a welcome. The room was adequate, I expected no more. I arrived and in short time went out in Retford, came back late and slept. No drama, all straight forward.

Great location, easy access and parking, generous breakfast and excellent value

Chris continues to provide a very excellent personal service and the score increases here as even the little bedroom wall light in room 4 was fixed, how lovely

A guest house that offers all you require.

Location very good, a walkable distance from town. The guest house is located in a very quiet setting, so perfect for a good night's rest. Breakfast options available including a complimentary light breakfast.

Maybe the addition of a hair dryer in the room.

A great affordable place to stay.

The Room was really clean and the owner was very pleasant and attentive. The breakfast was very good and I had a great nights sleep. Also decent off road parking. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We couldn’t have breakfast as we left for work at half 7 and they said it was to early

The Wi-Fi Breakfast should start at 7 as it seems like contractors stay there often

Did not stay - owner couldn't be bothered to let me in the property.

I was refused entry after arriving 10 mins late - 8:10pm!! The owner showed no concern & was more interested in checking cctv footage to pinpoint the exact time I arrived. No contact was made asking how long I would be.

Both the common areas and our bedroom smelt damp and musty. Breakfast was OK but there was no coffee machine so it was instant granules only

Host Richard really helpful and gives excellent customer service, the personal touch really obvious, room comfortable and clean, shower / etc. superb, breakfast first rate, plenty of parking and value incredible, ticks all the boxes

A night at tanamara guest house

Chris was the perfect host very accommodating nothing was too much trouble breakfast was excellent bed was very comfy room lovely and clean the new shower brill

very comfortable room and bed, place was very clean and well looked after and the shower was great... en suite and powerful... plus easy parking. all good

could have done with shower gel / shampoo in bathroom but that a very minor negative!

Convenient, very comfortable and good value for money.

Ideal location on the edge of the town. Private car park off the road. Very friendly and welcoming host, very comfortable room and an exceptional shower that was an absolute delight to use.

Lovely guest house. Clean and comfortable room. Christopher the host is really friendly. Loved the personal touch of the information in the room about the history of the guest house and how it got its unique name.
