About this villa rental
Casa Villa del Sol in Sayulita is a 4,500 sq ft 3 level home offering 3 private spaces, two 2BR/3BA Villas and one 1BR/1BA Studio Casita. Views and ocean breezes are a constant from almost every room. Each Villa and veranda is large enough to host the entire group yet the private spaces affords an opportunity for members of the group to hang back and relax.
Highlights:
-Quality hilltop home
-Expansive ocean, mountain and jungle views
-Large outdoor terraces all 3 levels
-Spectacular ocean breezes and sunsets
-Tranquil and safe setting yet very close to everything
-Large pool with ample deck space to spread out in the shade or sun
- 3 privates spaces. Ideal for multi-family groups.
Casa Villa del Sol is on the coveted north end of Sayulita on a quite and safe hilltop location. It is within 5 minutes walking distance to the beach and 15 minutes to the town plaza.
Access to the house is via Calle Sabalo. Calle Sabalo is a very steep cobblestone road and can be a challenge even for those that are in shape. We highly recommend either renting a car from PVR airport or renting a golf cart in town. Golf carts are the primary form of transportation in Sayulita and they are readily available to rent. We recommend the 48V Club Car (vs 36V). Both will make it up the hill but the 48V Club Car has more torque.
Villa I is located on the upper level. Villa II is located on the middle level. The Studio Casita is pool level. Each master bedroom has a king size bed and a large in suite private bathroom. The guest bedrooms and Casita has a queen size bed and a large in suite private bathroom. There is also a half bath off the great room and the pool area.

The house was cozy and had amazing views. The host was very nice and quick to respond. The reviews about the steep hill were accurate; golf carts can't handle it with four people on board. There's construction next door, so don't expect a quiet, relaxing time at the pool, although the pool itself was very nice and relaxing. Space is perfect for accommodating 8-10 people. We were disappointed to find no shower products provided, which was inconvenient for international travelers. Additionally, some bedrooms had full windows without curtains—a small detail that could have made the stay more comfortable. However, the landscaping around the house is beautiful and staff was nice and cleaned during your stay.

Property is so beautiful with incredible lush grounds. Lots of great restaurants. Definitely get a golf cart. Recommend Gaby as they delivered them so they were waiting when we arrived. The breezes up on the hill made it so relaxing.

We had two families stay here and felt well accommodated. The house is above the town with a great view, but just a couple minutes from the town center by golf cart. Also, the nicer (less crowded) beaches are just at the bottom of the hill. Unfortunately, the pool was a little less inviting than it would have been with warmer weather and less rain/wind. The only drawback to the location was that we were sandwiched between 3 construction sites, so the noise from those projects was continuous during our stay (obviously out of the control of our hosts)

The villa was the perfect spot for a long holiday weekend. It had everything we needed and the view was incredible. Epic sunsets and fireworks every night accompanied by the occasional whale pod.
Be sure to book golf carts in advance because the villa sits on top of a steep hill. But it’s a quick ride into town with a ton of great restaurants and bars. Check out Cava, it’s a unique mezcal bar. Pizza Venezia is a great pit stop for good pizza and the tacos at El Itacate are unreal!

Our stay at Villa del Sol was fantastic. Priscilla was great and always responsive to our questions. Thanks again.

We rented this property over a year before Thanksgiving for our family and to renew our vows. We loved having the Casita on for our daughters and their baby. The middle and top floor were perfect for the family to have their own spaces. It can be windy, so make sure Reuben secures them if you stay there. There is construction from 7am until 6pm, but that is Sayulita. The fountain in the pool helped with the noise.

Just as great the second time
We had such a great time when we came with friends in February 2020 that we returned for New Year's with some of the same friends, plus our college-age kids. The climb up to the house is as steep as we remembered, but the house offers amazing views of the ocean and the town of Sayulita.
On weekends and holidays (we were there for New Year's), you need to get to the beach early to rent chairs and umbrellas before they run out, but after Jan. 1, we pretty much had our section of the beach to ourselves. It's a short walk to the center of town where all the bars and restaurants are, but renting a golf cart or two to get around (and to climb back up that hill) is recommended.
After two trips, including a week-long stay this time, there are still hikes and other excursions we didn't get to. This house is a great place to relax and recharge.

Highly recommend staying at this property especially with a larger group up to 10 people!
Very clean, comfortable, and Priscilla is easy to work with & responsive to any questions you may have! Be sure to rent golf carts which will make your stay much more enjoyable!

Spring Break!
This place was beautiful and clean. It has large beds, pleasant common areas and breathtaking views from the balconies.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pricilla was also very friendly, helpful and communicative.
But, given (relatively) high price of the property, I do have a couple of nits:
-The pool was cold and unusable for most of our stay. I get it. It’s a tropical environment so the sun takes care of the heating for most of the year, but not ALL of the year. I’m not sure if we just arrived at the tail end of a cool period, but the water was cooooold. Our kids wouldn’t even go in, which is saying something. Again, I don’t want to be too critical because the pool was lovely, but for the money we paid, we should’ve be able to use the pool the entire time.
-There is no washer/dryer for clothes. The staff has a washer/dryer for the sheets and towels, but guests don’t get to use it. I imagine this is because the sewer system and the ecosystem in Sayulita are both a bit delicate. They don’t want visitors doing 5 loads a night. I get it and I agree, but you should know this ahead of time and come prepared with a bit of detergent to hand-wash your essentials, as needed. Note: Pricilla did notify us of this in the pre-stay info sheet, so it’s not a knock on her communication.
-It can be a bit loud. Sound carries up the hill from town very easily. If it’s rocking, you’ll hear it late into the evening/morning. We were also during the Easter Weeks (an important holiday in Mexico) so maybe it was just extra loud for our stay. Earplugs and white noise apps can help.

Fabulous Multi-Family Getaway
The house, staff, and overall stay were spectacular. We stayed as a total of 3 families, with 4 infants and one toddler between us and we had ample space and so enjoyed the freedom of having the kitchens and hanging close to home around the pool during nap times.
The hill IS daunting, but we completely managed going up and down walking multiple times a day - taking a roughly 60 peso taxi ride back up if we were too tired or hot. By the end it felt very routine!
Rueben and his family as the caretakers were wonderful, accommodating us when we had sleeping babies in the house and associated mess that comes with little ones.
The only small downside I would note is that the wifi signal was not overly strong on the top floor and intermittent elsewhere - not an issue if you’re there to unwind and relax, but we had wifi baby monitors that were non functional for most of the trip. Our mistake I suppose!
You can’t go wrong here for a great family stay (or without family) while in Sayulita!

The ideal beach getaway for an overdue reunion
Casa Villa del Sol exceeded our already high expectations based on the online descriptions of the house. The layout of the house and its remarkable hilltop views of Sayulita's beaches suited the needs of our group of longtime friends who gathered to celebrate a couple birthdays in our group.
Beach access to a relatively quiet stretch of beach on the north end of Sayulita — much less crowded than the southern end, where during the weekend, the beach was packed — was a straight shot from the house, at the bottom of the hill. We had a great time sampling the many restaurant and bar options in town, just a short golf cart ride away.
The house's caretakers, Reuben and his daughter, checked in with us regularly to see if we needed anything, and they cleaned the house daily (except Sunday). We will definitely be looking to come back to Casa Villa del Sol again.
One note: For those looking to get some cardio work in during your beach vacation, the walk up the steep hill to the house is no joke. Renting a golf cart or two is definitely recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous!
Villa Del Sol was the perfect place for our group's week away - we loved everything about it.
- Great floorplan and loved that each room was en-suite.
- Incredible views and sunsets every evening
- Beautifully relaxing pool and communal areas
- Kept spotlessly clean
- Fantastically resourced
- Comfortable beds
- Great location for walking into Sayulita for beach/shops/restaurants
- Prompt and friendly communication from Priscilla
The only minor negative I can think of is the steepness of the hill, but... without it, you wouldn't get the amazing views, so totally worth it my opinion.
We hired a car so we could easily explore the area. It took a bit of practice to learn how to park it in the property's car port, but it was worth it. San Francisco Nayarit is a nice little town a short drive north of Sayulita, and we did quite a bit of shopping at the Mega, just south of Bucerias on the 200, so I would recommend a car, but it's not essential.
Within a day of arriving at the property, we were already talking about returning next year. A fantastic place to stay, well worth booking!

We could not have had a better experience. Villa del Sol was magnificent and Sayulita was paradise. Everything was even better than we imagined - very family friendly.

Stunning Views Awesome Staff
The beauty of this villa is amazing! The home is exactly like it looks in the photo's and even better. The 3 tiers of the home give it tons of space to spread out. Even when filled with lot's of people. Perhaps the best feature of the home is the service. The groundskeeper and housekeeping staff is amazing. Of course it helps to be able to speak a little bit of Spanish. But even if you can only just scrape by....they will go out of their way to take care of you. We had a wonderful dinner cooked at the house on our last night by Mary and many people said it was the best meal they'd had all week. And we only paid 150 pesos per person plus the cost of the food. They started cooking at 5 and dinner was ready at 8. Highly recommend Mary and her crew!!!
One thing to note. The house is on a very steep hill. You either need to be willing to hike home and be in decent shape or rent a golf cart. You will need to rent from Riviera Golf carts as they are the only ones who have carts strong enough to go up the hill. They deliver and have great service. Just make sure you know how to drive one and are confident. The hill is no joke.
Priscilla was wonderful and quick on communication once in Mexico. She text me as soon as we arrived and I had no problems getting a hold of her if needed. Thank you!!!
This villa is a steal of a price compared to other places if you can deal with the hill. Clean, beautiful, exceptional service.

Unbelievable!!
I cannot say enough about this amazing home!!! The home is very clean. Everything we needed!! The view is amazing! The caretakers Reuben and his daughter Cassandra are very kind, professional. At the home daily making sure we are cared for, maintaining the house clean, pool clean, landscaping. Beautiful! Can't wait to come back!!
The hill is very steep to walk up and in a car you should have a truck. Thank you Priscilla!!
