Our stay at the Hacienda Guamag was both relaxing and adventurous (e.g. walking the Smugglers’ Path), only to be topped

The location is truly extraordinary. The hacienda is located next to a nature reserve amidst beautiful vegetation and impressive landscape. The hacienda can only be reached with a tarabita, a cable car crossing a canyon with spectacular views onto a waterfall. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay special. They also prepared local food, including the trouts that we could fish in a pond right next to the restaurant.

calm and beautiful place in nature

Hacienda Guamag is set in a calm and beautiful place that has no road access and can be reached by tarabita. by crossing the gorge with a beautiful view over the waterfall you leave hassle behind and enter beautiful place run by a super host Marcelo and his family. We traveled with two kids and they loved everything about the place - tarabita ride, trout pond to fish own dinner, swing under the tree. The room was also very nice with two big comfortable beds. excellent stay! highly recommended.

Enjoy Baños from a great place to stay!

My room was amazing! Wonderful views, spacious, high ceilings, and beautiful huge glass and tile shower. Also lots of channels on the satellite TV but I didn’t watch much because there is so much to do. Besides all the fun tourist stuff to do in Baños this place is located at the convergence of two protected natural areas and there is as much good walking and hiking as anyone might want to do with beautiful trails starting right outside your door. The property is also a plantation with fruit trees and beautiful landscaping leading you along well maintained trails into the surrounding protected natural areas. The family that runs the hacienda, as well as there staff, were wonderful. They went so much farther than any guest could expect to make my stay enjoyable. They have a restaurant onsite and have wonderful options for your meals which you can eat there or have brought to your room. I can’t say enough about how well I was treated there. You won’t be disappointed if you trust your trip to Baños to Bosque Protector Hacienda Guamag!

I’ve stayed at the hotel 3 times in the last 4 months, once with friends, second time with my wife and now with my daughter. The location is perfect if coming or going to Amazon. The hotel is quiet, clean and comfortable. I always have the local trout for dinner

Gorgeous location with scenic views and natural trails. The owners, Marcelo and Carmita, were always on hand to help out and make delicious food. Really unique experience in a family run Hacienda.

Great and unique position near two falls in a naturalistic reserve. Silent and peace were so appreciated.The owner was extremely kind and useful helping us to organise tour and advising us for the best in Banos. Highly recommended!
