Betsy and Charlotte were wonderful hosts! Everything is well thought out and prepared for arrival. Our favorite part was enjoying the sun rise over the California hills while enjoying our morning coffee poolside. The place was simple to get to and a little slice of heaven. We came for a family wedding and loved having some downtime to relax. The hosts also assisted during our stay with any questions and lending other amenities we found ourselves in need of. The town has a farmer's market on Saturdays and we picked up some fresh goodies. We will be looking forward to our future travels taking us near Sutter Creek again. famer

This is a wonderful place. The pictures undersold this place! Amazing pool! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves. The host was very responsive and occationally text us with ideas for entertainment and restaurants. This property is very secluded and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again!!!

This gorgeous hideaway is located just up the road from Mainstreet in Sutter Creek. We loved staying here and could not get over the lovely sunset views from the pool! We actually used this as a homebase to visit the Calaveras Big Trees state park (`1.5hrs drive) and surrounding outdoor spaces. It was great to be able to have breakfast in town and then make the quick drive the park.
The only critique we have is that while the bed was large, it was super firm. Otherwise, we could not recommend this place more and we plan to be back, if not just to have another opportunity to take a sunset dip!

We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Hills Ranch! The property was so peaceful and relaxing! The pool was incredible! The house had everything. We hope to stay again!

This property was EVERYTHING it was promised to be. We spent four blissful days enjoying the grounds in privacy and luxury. The hosts were accommodating, attentive and flexible throughout our stay. We explored the charming towns and nearby trails of the area. The mountains up Highway 88 were just over an hour away, where we were treated to beautiful landscapes and spectacular views. It was an ideal getaway with a perfect balance of rest and exploration!

Words and pictures cannot describe the beauty and serenity of this home! Betsy is a fabulous hostess & although we didn’t get to meet Charlotte this time, she was very helpful and answered any questions we had. The guesthouse had all the essentials you could need and was very clean! Truly could’ve stayed our entire weekend there without going out and we would be perfectly fine! The view and lounge area were perfect and the pool/hot tub were so much fun and so beautiful! We had the pleasure of talking to Betsy and both her and Charlotte recommended few areas that were fun to explore. We left feeling like it was our home away from home. She is truly wonderful and we cannot wait to come back and visit. 💕 Thank you for all the warmth and kindness.

My family and I could not have asked for a better vacation. Despite the reservation being last-minute, with some additional changes throughout the trip on my part, Betsy, Charlotte, and Patty provided exceptional service at every point. Not to mention the photos somehow still don’t do their wonderful home justice. We’re already planning our next trip back!

We visited Sunset Hills in April, and it was so beautiful. Quail were browsing outside the sliding glass door. The grass was bright green and trees were leafing out. So beautiful. Very close to Sutter Creek where the shopping is fun, and the food is fabulous. Next time I want to swim in that beautiful infinity pool and sit by the fire table in the evening. Thank you for a great stay!

This is a great place to stay. Beautiful views just a 5 minute drive from downtown Sutter Creek.
Property was very clean and welcoming and had all the amenities that you would need.
Hosts were very friendly and welcoming without being in any way intrusive. We had a couple of questions which were immediately answered.
We'll be back for sure!

Our little family (2 adults + 3yo + 6yo) had the best stay in this little cottage. About a mile from Dt Sutter creek, gorgeous pool, and sweet overall setting. Grateful for this little get away. The host was amazing in answering all of our questions and making sure we had everything we need. 20/10. Would recommend.

The property is beautiful and exactly as described. The pictures are good, but do not do it justice! It is pretty darn special enjoying the beautiful surroundings when sitting out around the pool. The comfy patio furniture is great for lounging and the fire table gives a great ambience. The bed we slept in was so comfortable and the shower was great, too.
We had a wonderful stay, thanks to the owner, Betsy, being so kind and wonderful, and her partner, Charlotte, as well. Thank you, Betsy, we are so glad we met you and very much enjoyed visiting with you.

I was scrolling on vrbo with places with a pool. I saw this pool and instantly fell in love. Not with just the pool, but because it had an amazing view. The pictures do not do it justice. It is seriously the most beautiful pool I’ve ever been in. When we arrived, we were greeted by Charlotte and Betsy. They were both so friendly and we felt instantly welcome. They took the time and made us a poster for our anniversary congratulating us. That was such a special treat. We had such a relaxing anniversary trip and can’t wait to go back to Sutter Creek!

This was a beautiful property - the kitchen and bathroom were more than fully stocked, yard was beautiful, owners very welcoming yet not intrusive, clean, lovely view by the pool and check in/out very easy. This was a great deal for the money and far better than any local hotel. Thank you for a wonderful time.

My boyfriend and I came for a long weekend getaway and it did not disappoint. Amazing property and gorgeous relaxing pool! The AC went our during our stay but Betsy was more than accommodating giving us a plethora of fans and even graciously offering to pay for us to sleep in a hotel. We toughed it out though and it cooled down during the night, so all was well. We can’t recommend this place more and we’ll definitely be back!

My adult daughter and I had a wonderful 3-day stay at Betsy's place, well beyond our expectations. The hosts were extremely helpful in resolving an issue w/ our VRBO booking, accommodating a last-minute change in our schedule, and, in general, making sure our stay was as relaxing and enjoyable as possible from start to finish. Everything about the property was perfect for our needs, the guest house was spacious with lots of character and personal touches. And the beautiful pool area and spa, along with the amazing view, gave us the feeling of having our own private resort. It was, hands down, one of the best vacation rental experiences we've had. We'll be back!

Our stay at Sunset Hills Ranch was nothing short of incredible.
From the moment we arrived, Charlotte went above and beyond to make sure that we had more than we needed. Her friendliness and generosity really stand out in a world where that’s often not the norm.
The house was clean, beautifully appointed, and had everything we needed. We stayed in and cooked several meals there and also ate at Cavana’s at Charlotte’s recommendation and that was tasty too.
The pictures of the pool and the view don’t do it justice. The home and the canyon are so beautiful! Everything worked great and we made use of the fire table too, staying out there late into the night talking. I can easily say this is the most stunning home I’ve rented and the value was incredible. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you, Charlotte!

When we arrived, we discovered the pool and hot tub were not working, the host Betsy, came down and fiddled with the controls and then told us she was waiting on a part that the service man broke, no heater, no pump. The pool was standing water and she warned us about the mosquito infestation and gave us some mosquito spray. The 10 mins we were outside we were eaten alive from mosquitos so we went inside. When we got inside, out of the swarm, we could not sign onto the wifi and there was no ice. (we had requested ice for drinks) We promptly communicated with the host and told her we did not want to stay. I have the text communication with Charlotte, property manager. She acknowledges the issues, apologizes and promises a refund, yet now refuses to give us our full refund. Why would we stay at a property that we can't use the amenities, can't go outside, can't connect to wifi, and can't even make a cocktail. This was such a HUGE disappointment to our Mother's Day weekend get away. Now I have the second disappointment of dealing with a dishonest host, challenging the payment on my credit card and VRBO. Why are people such scammers? To no fault of our own, we didn't stay at your property, why would you keep our money?? :(

We made a new friend (Betsy). Wonderful accomodations. Comfortable bed, lots of peaceful places to lounge on the deck or by the pool. Stairs would be a challenge for disabled, but no problem for us seniors. Can't wait to visit again when pool is warm. So many wildflowers this time of year.

Sutter Creek and surrounding towns are so lovely and the people are so nice an accommodating. The food in Sutter Creek is outstanding. Staying at Sunset Hills Ranch was so peaceful with outstanding views.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The pool and hot tub overlook gorgeous rolling hills. Star gazing from the hot tub at night is amazing.
The space is tastefully decorated with just what you need.
If you are travelling with children, it's a great home base for doing day trips to Kirkwood Cross Country Ski Center (1 hr 15 min) and Iron Mountain Sno Park--great sledding (1 hr)!
Charlotte is just a text message away if you have any questions and both Betsy and Charlotte are engaging hosts.
We're already looking forward to our next trip!

Very clean an amazing place. Betsy’s and Charlotte thought of everything in case you forgot anything. Home was fully furnished.. The view and atmosphere were very relaxing and amazing. The wildlife and serenity of location made you feel like you were far away even though all surrounding towns were minutes away. Charlotte made the experience that much better with her attention to detail and accessibility. We left Sutter Creek with new friends and wonderful memories. Highly recommended place.

We loved the beautiful pool and lovely king bed. We came in town for a wedding and it was a perfect time spot to relax in between events. The hot tub didn't work but the pool was a nice place to relax. The little town is awesome too.

"Come as guests, leave as friends" We were impressed by the spellbinding tranquility of this space. In my opinion, it's an absolute treasure tucked away in the hills of gold country. Absolutely going back.

I cannot say enough great things to describe this beautiful property, its gracious owner, and the thoughtful and thorough property manager. They thought of EVERYTHING and were so incredibly welcoming and accommodating!! Between the adorable apartments, the amazing view, the perfect infinity pool and the incredible people we met, we never wanted to leave!! Thank you for welcoming our family and friends, you all quickly became part of them!! We can’t wait to come back someday!!❤️

My wife and I needed a get away weekend. This was the an awesome place. Since the booking, the staff keep in contact throughout our stay. We were well received and accommodated in a truly beautiful home and short term stay location. Sunset Ranch has everything you need. The pool was great on the high heat afternoons. It was quiet, and the onsite folks help us find the best places and things to do. I give this a 10 out of 10. It truly is a jewel.

This gem is simply a dream
All the reviews and the listing photos are accurate - this home was such an amazing space inside and out! … you can really optimize your time and enjoyment at all times of day/night. It was a magical stay! Clean , modern yet classic, very comfortable, and the accommodations/bells&whistles topped the cake! The hosts were superb —-- kind, professional, welcoming, accommodating—- and local community was equally kind and welcoming. Looking forward to returning soon!

My wife and I booked this location for our 5 year anniversary. The price was a bargain for what we got. The pool was beautiful, the view from the pool was beautiful. The hot tub was great. The welcome items we received were much appreciated. It is less than five minutes from downtown Sutter Creek but you feel like you’re much further away from civilization. Would highly recommend to anyone!
