Perfect location in the heart of Shanklin Old Village.
Nothing. It was perfect.

Exceptional attention to detail in giving every comfort to our stay with lovely owners and friendly staff on hand. We felt looked after but privacy was also respected, under no pressure if we wanted to remain in our room during the day. Very clean, light and comfortable room with ensuite, complete with every bathroom luxury. On site parking in front with proximity to shops, restaurants and the sea front. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
I cannot think of anything that was missed out!

The Birkdale far exceeded my expectations. It was immaculate and looked as if it was freshly decorated. All the extras provided in the bedroom and bathroom were what one normally finds in a good class hotel. The breakfast was excellent and served in an attractive room with beautifully laid tables. The proprietors, Lesley and Colin were very friendly and helpful.
Nothing really, just the stairs up to the room - though Lesley and Colin help with luggage - and possibly more flexibility in breakfast times, though I acknowledge this might be difficult in a small establishment without staff.

The location was perfect. Right in the heart of Shanklin village. Easily accessible to the High Street with restaurants, bars and the Theatre. The breakfast at the Birkdale Guest House was the best we have ever had.
There was nothing we didn't like.

Breakfast was 1st class. Cooked to perfection. Everything spotless with the whole location. Lots of hard work has been invested and I would and will recommend to anyone who wants a lovely relaxed stay on the Island.
There was nothing whatsoever to dislike.

The rooms (with ensuite bathrooms) were perfect! Beautifully decorated, comfortable, spacious, and included every little complementary detail imaginable.
Leslie and Colin welcomed us warmly... offering a beverage on arrival. The house has a very homey feel (a genuine B&B of the old variety). Our breakfast was sumptuous! We were offered a full menu the previous evening to choose from.
Nothing!

Breakfast was superb - everything you could want. My husband was delighted that you had apricot jam
On a personal basis we found the chairs a bit low especially as my husband had recently had a new hip. We just brought our directors chairs in as we like to play cards in the evening. For me the bed was too short so my feet were hanging off the end but I still slept alright. Our stay

Nice and clean only problem I had was shower was not working on day two of are stay, so we reported it when leaving. One socket was not easy to plug in hair dryer as was a bit to low other wise very good.
Light in hall way was shining in room found it difficult to get off to sleep

The breakfast was perfect, lovely every morning, everything you could want and cooked beautifully. The location was also great for us, only a very short walk to pubs, close to the town and not far to the beach.
Our room was quite hot at night, even with windows open but once we got the fan out, it was no problem.

This B&B is excellent value for money. Our room (Number 5) had a 4 poster bed and was clean, light and well maintained. The breakfast was plentiful and a wide range of choice available. Colin and Lesley were friendly and helpful. A place we would highly recommend.
