beautiful location & friendly staff, probably one of the nicest hotels on the island, good food & they have bug spray in the rooms

Niente

Unique rooms and lovely location. We met the owners and so much love went into the place. The staff were fab too.
The government want to close down the current resort and build huge hotels in its place. So so sad as it will ruin the island.

Helpful welcoming staff, clean room, beautiful view.

Staff was very kind and hotel was located further away from the busier bars and restaurants, so it was quiet in the evenings.
The hotel was covered in graffiti, which appeared to be related to a dispute with the land owner. Also the distinction between “beach front” and non beach front domes appeared to be in price only, as they’re all basically in a row and not really different in any way. Plumbing leaked and many of the lights were non functional. At a cost nearly three times that of other hotels nearby that looked just as good or nicer, this place really isn’t worth it. It seems very common on the island for things to be built to look nice but the facade rapidly falls away, recommend sorting reviews from newest to oldest when looking for a place to stay here.

Perfect location in the secluded part of Saracen Bay, exquisite beach perfect for a midnight dip romantic ambiance, swimming pool and bar service, extremely friendly staff. Sincere thanks to dearest Tola and Theary for all their help and recommendations for the island. Breakfast was very nice with great selection of food choice and beach dinner. The architecture of the resort and dome rooms were amazing. The rooms included all essential amenities. Would definitely return.
Everything was perfect

The resort has a really nice location for swimming, you don't need to walk around on other beach front. The staff is always around as well, and easy to request things from them.
Nothing much

The staff were lovely.
The food was really good.
The room was clean and very beautiful.
Amazing beachfront location.
Peaceful and quiet.
Loads of places to sit on the beach and on the hanging beds
Slightly limited menu, some things not available.
Lots of insects on the beach / at dinner but not in the room.

The beach and grounds were kept really clean by the staff. Dinner on the beach was really nice. The food was excellent and well priced. Breakfast is limited and not up to much. The domed dining hall is a bit depressing. Unfortunately the Cambodian government are trying to evict the owners of this hotel and other hotels and bars and come around spraying massages with eviction dates on the buildings, so they can sell leases to developers, so this island will be spoilt and never be the same again. We wish the owners and brilliant staff well in the difficult situation that they find themselves in.
The spray painted graffiti by the Cambodian government making visitors feel unwelcome.

location right on beach but Cambodia government have a massive building project and are demolishing the end of the island property’s
breakfast was very poor

Nice localization, big house, white Sand, Very good a la carte meals
Very dirty and neglected rooms, there was no hot water for washing throughout the stay. Jacuzzi not washed, cold water. Lack of staff - one person does all the work from being a receptionist to being a waiter. The hotel is having some legal issues, the scheduled demolition of the hotel was at the time we were there. We woke up with fear that we would not be kicked out that day. We were a bit like hostages of the hotel problem.poor breakfast on dirty tables, flies, no butter, no squeezed juices (because the blender broke down)

Quiet. The architecture is a strange but it works. Fantastic staff
No hot water and a bad working air on. We were offered a different room. Just behind the hotel is a water dump where a lot of waste goes into. That brown water runs into the ocean.

beautiful beach front table from evening meals
this side of the island is exposed to high winds and storms. tree roots had been left exposed on the beach. beach was full of litter either side of the resort but the resort cleaned it’s own sections up.
4.0
aesthetically pleasing and good, quiet location on the beach for sunbathing in the day but not far from the other restaurants and bars. they also made the effort to clean any rubbish which had washed in on the tide from their section of the beach which made it even more pituresque
Overall quite disappointing for the price paid. The staff are the opposite of proactive; they never seem ready to help or even say hello (except for the gardeners). For example every day at breakfast there would be either no plates or no cutlery or no coffee or no orange juice and they would just be standing there and wait til you asked then you had to wait (sometimes so long you weren’t sure if they had forgotten) thenor they would just bring one glass of orange juice so then i would have to ask for another for the rest of my family as I assumed they would just fill up the buffet juice dispenser. Similarly they do bring drinks to your sunloungers during the day, but only if you can find someone to ask. We had a dome room which looks gorgeous but aside from being aesthetically pleasing it’s entirely lacking in function- the start gazing hole is small so we could only see one star despite there being amazing stars on the island, it also obviously lets in a lot of light but you can’t cover it yourself you have to go to reception to ask them to put the cover on but it’s not a 24hr reception. We hadn’t thought this through on the first night and, excited to see the stars we left the cover off, only to be woken up around 5am from the sun. The next nights we had the cover on but on one night the wind blew it off and again we were woken up at 5am. Also even with the cover on all the windows are dome shaped but the blinds are rectangular so it is always fairly light in the mornings regardless. Additionally the acoustics of the dome, whilst funny to begin with, make every noise very loud and displaced. Even birds outside the window would sound like they were coming from inside on the other side of the room, again waking me up. You also have to remember to put the sign on your door for the room to be made up, they don’t automatically do it each day which seems odd to me compared to every other 4 star hotel I’ve stayed in.

The property is great the owner has a great story on how he built it and well worth a chat to.
The staff are all really nice the food was good.
The resort are constantly cleaning the beach and always friendly.
great place great people good food.
so the property it’s self is clean smart and tidy but the island is no Maldives or paradise as it is stated.
The beach is disgusting to either side of the property rubbish everywhere raw sewage floating out to sea you have to step across streams of it to walk the beach.
It’s really un-pleasant.
I am a pretty seasoned traveler but I still found this hard to take.
the Moon Light work very hard to to keep their area clean but it does not make you feel comfortable knowing that the beach is full of human and dog mess.
the rubbish is not just a little it is everywhere so much of it that you can not look up whilst walking to enjoy the view.
You have to look at your feet all the time.
I think it would be very easy for all the resorts on the beach to set up a fund and hire folk to clean along the full length of the beach rather than just out side their own front door some clean some don’t!
I loved the resort and my room but I would not go back.
as I say it’s a shame as the moonlight work so hard to make it a nice place.

The room was very beautiful and the bed was very comfortable with a great location on the beach front and it was only a 20 min walk from lazy beach which is also a very beautiful beach. The food was very nice but a little on the expensive side.
Our room did not get cleaned during our stay here even though we specifically asked for it to be cleaned whilst we were out for the day. The food was expensive but very enjoyable. It was not made clear to us before we arrived that we would need to get a water taxi over to the property as it would have been a 45 min walk along the beach otherwise. We did managed to get a water taxi quite easily but had to pay extra for this.

lovely staff, very clean, domes are very nice, nice property and well maintained
the breakfast buffet was not good. the restaurant dome is not good and lacks atmosphere/ character. the food we ordered off the menu was fine, however

Honestly - its difficult to say, what was really good - maybe the hotel own beach in front of the hotel
Clear, Clean, Closed, more is not necessary for a 4 Star Hotel
However, nothing was given.
The water was not clean, but dirty - Koh Rong Sanloem does not meet expectation at all at Saracen Beach
Clean - for sure not - neither the bathroon, not the room, not the pool - omg.
Closed - also not given. Doors are not closing completely. Sure, a lizard came in. When trying to get rid of the animal, dirt and dust above door flew up, with a terrible smell. OMG
The only thing is a high price, which they offer
Never, never again. And it has never 4 Stars.

Its was quite and the resort was not busy. the grounds were well kept. the day beds were relaxing.
walking distance to all the happening places on the island. enjoyed the free kayaks.
the place looks better in pictures, wear and tear In the rooms were visible. bathrooms were uncomfortable and slippery. dinning area is stark and not comfortable. lots of geckos in the room. 1 feel on us when we were sleeping. no hot water in taps, until we had to complain about it.

I like how unique is the dome room and the peaceful beach around the resort.. so lovely and you really realy get away from any busy life for a while.. i love how friendly the staff and their hospitality..
This is recommended!
the shores are a bit dirty and muddy..overall is okay..

Nice room, comfortable
No option to turn "off" the "moonlight window" in the dome! Once the sun comes up its like somebody has turned on a high wattage bulb!

Can not connect wifi in my room
Air conditionner not cool enough

The room was VERY comfortable and clean. The staff was very attentive to my needs and provided excellent service. Unlike many other beachfront properties on the island, Moonlight did a GREAT JOB maintaining the property and keeping the beach area clean.
I wish the lighting was better in the bathrooms, but besides that it was fine.

Very comfortable
