A stunning surprise.

The staff is really friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely spotless and really spacious. The bathroom was really comfortable and with a nice shower. The view from our room was superb. Breakfast is nice. We had dinner two times. The first night was really delicious. We were not really happy the second night, but anybody can get wrong sometimes. But we really appreciate that the staff acknowledged the mistake and found a way to fix it.

We love everything about Northgate House. The temperature in the room was also really comfortable. The only advice is to arrange the windows to better maintain the temperature without heating all day long, and to be more respectful of the environment.

An excellent hotel in a lovely tranquil setting at Buckfast Abbey.

We stayed in a superior guest room which was very comfortable and spottlessly clean. The room was on the first floor and had a balcony and table and chairs and lovely views over the abbey grounds and the hill beyond. Excellent breakfasts were served in the hotel restaurant. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

A perfect stay.

Friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable staff and a beautifully clean and comfortable room. My wife and I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, exceptional food and value, great service. Overall, a perfect stay and all set in the grounds of Buckfast Abbey.

A wonderful relaxing weekend at Northgate House

As soon as we arrived at Northgate House we were made to feel very welcome and this continued throughout our stay. The hotel was very clean and peaceful and in a beautiful location.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful hotel.

We love Northgate House, it is so peaceful and it really recharges the old batteries. The rooms are beautiful in a simple way and offers everything you could want or need, the staff in the hotel are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on site which is very good and offers a good choice of menu including vegetarian options, the food is of high quality and presented very well, breakfast is also available and is very tasty.In short for us it is a hotel that offers everything and we love it so much we will be visiting twice next year and we are looking forward to it.

Wonderful restful stay.

Beautiful location close to the Abbey Lovely tranquil surroundings. Wonderful friendly staff going out of their way to accommodate requests. Comfortable large rooms .

No meals available in evening on certain days. Which was an inconvenience if you don't have transport.

Booked as a stopover before boarding cross channel ferry, fitted the bill perfectly.

Absolutely wonderful and we’d recommend your hotel to our family and friends

There was plenty of choice. The cooked breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The location was brilliant.

We didn’t find a sitting room. However we found six beautifully comfortable armchairs - 2 in reception, 2 outside the bar and 2 at the top of the stairs, but with people passing by it wasn’t very quiet. We would suggest either the signage to the hotel is improved or perhaps the fact that the hotel is in the Abbey grounds is mentioned in your advertising.

A great choice for a quiet, restful break.

Very clean, beautifully positioned next to abbey and close to the moors. Woodland walk next to the River Dart close by. Great buffet breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff. We will happily return as there is so much to explore nearby.

Outstanding place to stay.

The hospitality was amazing. We felt welcomed and cared for. The setting is stunning, facilities fantastic 👏 Outstanding feeling of peacefulness and opportunity to rest. Breakfast was amazing and our daughter said the BEST vegetarian sausages she has ever tried.

The bed squeaked. And the room was hit but these things by far outweighed by how stunning the venue was. Having to leave!

Never heard of Buckfastleigh before but it is well worth a visit. So pretty, lovely Abbey.

Spotless! Cleanest place I have ever stayed. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice. The evening meal was delicious with plenty of choice and also filling. Buckfastleigh is beautiful

The Abbey and grounds were amazing. Good parking

Only one chair in our room. The bar was terrible, understocked, no draft Guiness, lemonade, coke etc. Gantry/spirit choice was very poor. Staff were very good. Not there fault. No Jack Daniels. 2 draft pumps: cider and Devon lager. Needs a total revamp.

Friendly, excellent location for exploring the area.

First, the staff were all friendly and welcoming making it a joy to stay. We had a superior room which provided a very good sitting area. The bed was very comfortable and the shower excellent. Breakfast and evening meals were also very good. The location is well positioned for getting to all the main coastal locations in under an hour.

Excellent accommodation for adult visitors to Abbey.

Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were scrupulously clean. Good size room - lots of storage - and lovely bathroom. Peaceful location, ideal for adults and very close to the Abbey. Breakfast was amazingly good as was the evening meal in the restaurant. Perfect few days away.

A lovely place to stay… a real treat!

Such a lovely place! We loved our room, especially the wet room. the food was delicious. The staff were outstanding in their friendliness and care. The grounds and the opportunity to visit the Abbey were such a wonderful bonus. the food was delicious too.
