Over-all the place is very nice. My only concern is the slick floors throughout the house. Going out onto the deck upstairs, the mat slid our from several members staying at the house including a 7, 4, and 3 year old. I slipped going down the stairs inside and fell down 8 stairs, causing me to have to go to the emergency room and stay upstairs for the next 2 1/2 days. Mat in the kitchen had no backing on it also causing several members of my family to slip as well. Like I said, enjoyed the house with the exception of the slick floors. Unfortunate that I lost spending three days at the ocean with my family and my grandkids. Looking at contacting my attorney to discuss next steps.

As this was our first Thanksgiving after the loss of our father, we decided to take our 89-year-old mother to the beach for the holiday. On short notice, we were lucky to find this home available. The home was clean and ready upon our arrival. The home was in a great location, at end of the island with beautiful views of the sunset and sunrise. We enjoyed having a living area on each floor with its own balcony. The kitchen and dining areas were a great size with plenty of room. Compared to other VRBOs we found the home to be well equipped with supplies! The owner was extremely responsive and so very nice! She took the time to resolve the concerns that were shared prior to our visit. She messaged to ensure the home was as expected when we arrived and even reached out on the day of our departure to wish us a safe trip home. We look forward to staying here again

The furniture in the main family room is so dirty and old that we did not really want to sit on it. Time to replace. Also, the painting on the inside stairway railing between top floor and lower level really needs a clean fresh coat of paint. Otherwise, it is a nice house and the manger responded to us quickly.

My family spent the week at this house and had such a great time. We typically go to Ocean Isle every year for our beach vacation, but had never stayed this far east on the island. We loved it as it has to be one of the widest beach areas on the island now since the jetty/beach rejuvenation project has been completed, and it is not nearly as crowded as the rest of the island. The house has phenomenal views, great amenities, and very convenient access to the beach. You can also walk from the house all the way to the Intracoastal Waterway.
Heather was very nice and communication with her was great. We would highly recommend this house to anyone and hope we can stay there again in the future.

This house is in a phenomenal location. The layout of the house is quite nice. However, for the cost of the weekly rental, we were shocked at how dirty and worn the living room furniture was. I didn’t even want to sit on the couch or chairs in the living room because they are covered in dark, grimy stains. The rugs throughout the house are also very dirty and need to be replaced. The trash can cabinet in the kitchen was filthy. I would not rent here again.

In 30 years vacationing at OIB this house had everything! Shaded deck for the grands who could watch all beach activities! A first for us to have bathrooms stocked with shampoo,etc. we missed having an enclosed outdoor shower but that seems to be in the works. Loud host was so responsive ! We will be back!

Our Family of 5 had a great time at the property during our Christmas break. The ocean views, specifically the Sunrises and Sunsets are something we thoroughly enjoyed from the upper deck. Heather was very responsive and had the frozen water pipes fixed even on the Christmas Eve. We certainly would like to come back.

This house was perfect for our family - 4 couples & kids. The rooms give you private space, the upper floor kitchen & sitting area have a spectacular view, it was well stocked with essentials. It's near the end of the island so the beach is not crowded. We will come again!

Lovely Beachfront Home
We were really pleased with this vacation home. It suited both of our families really well—even cooking for 13 people. We had people in our group with allergies and mold sensitivities, but no one had any reactions in this home. The view and the beach were absolutely amazing! The home is so light and airy! The decks were redone. Come to find out the beach was even recently reconstructed. It was amazing. We found out that first and second streets had been wiped out from a hurricane, so this house, which sits on third Street, is now beachfront. What a find! We loved how there was shade even on the 3rd floor deck off the kitchen and dining room. The second level deck was shaded also. And the lower level deck has shade as well! We’d never stayed at a house so convenient to the beach. It really makes a huge difference! I highly recommend this home!

Delightful Beachfront with strong communication
This house is just as beautiful *(or more so) as the pictures show. There is plenty of room, super closet space, comfortable furnishings, awesome collection of books/games/puzzles/dvds (if you can't find anything you want to watch on the streaming devices) and amazing views - perfect for a relaxing beach getaway. The home is close to the water at high-tide and has incredible views of both sunrise and sunset. The owner was incredibly communicative and helpful. I'd suggest shoes for the upper deck but there is also a lower shaded deck (and two street front balconies that provided shade/shelter from beach breezes) so plenty of comfortable options for being outside. The neighborhood was charming and provided for lovely beach and street walks.

This was our 6th year of ocean front rentals and this was the best by far. With two 12 year olds and two 14 year olds the separate living spaces was ideal. Also, the best equipped kitchen, the owner thought of almost everything.

Absolutely gorgeous!
This beautiful house is on the beach with an absolutely breathtaking ocean view. The house is very clean and well-maintained. We are surprised at how well the pantry is supplied. We love blender, coffee grinder and various of gourmet condiment and appreciate the generosity of the host. Our family had a really good time on the beach and the water is unexpectedly clean and my kids even caught some fresh shells and fishes. :)

In a word -- exceptional!
Our two month stay at The Beached House was amazing! The location is like none other, just magnificent. Watching dolphins swim by while working from the deck was just perfect! The house itself exceeded our expectations in all aspects; it was exactly what we needed for a winter down south during the pandemic. Working with the owner was a real pleasure. She was extremely responsive, accommodating, and made sure that we had a terrific stay. No question that we will be back!

This place is gorgeous and the view is breathtaking. The homeowner was very responsive and made sure we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The wood on the decks could use some TLC but being that it’s on the ocean it’s expected to have some wear and tear. Our family enjoyed the house and all of the amenities in the area. We will definitely love to come back.

I love everything about the property. There were a lot of dragon flys and water bugs. But no fault of the property, just the acts of nature and being directly on the beach. I am not a bug person, so with that being said. I will for sure book this location again. Excellent location!!!

Excellent for a Girl's Weekend Get Away
The property owner was very communicative throughout the entire process - especially since we had a tropical storm a few weeks ago. This place is perfect, having a bathroom wirh every bedroom is nice with a large group of women. Access to the beach is unbelievable, it is true on the description, it ia the back yard. We each stated we would love to rent this place again!

Wonderful Week!
Our group of three families had an amazing week. The House is well stocked and beautifully located... literally steps from the ocean. The two spacious decks gave our group plenty of space to enjoy rolling waves in the shade. There were oodles of beach chairs, a corn hole set, and even a kayak to make the trip more fun. The only downside was the crowded beach. Folks in the rows behind us cut through next to the house and crossed through our space continuously, even though it's not public access. We needed to get our chairs out early to stake out a spot. That said, we still enjoyed our time on the beach! We hope to return in the future!

Overall was a great place. Couldn’t be any closer to the beach! You can step straight off the deck to the beach. Great location at a quiet end of the island. The owner was responsive in exchanges leading up to the stay. Only criticism was that the deck was pretty well weather-worn and could benefit from replacing some of the boards.

Great week in a The best house in town!
After a week in OIB we concluded that we had somehow lucked upon THE best rental home available, in the best part of the island. The beaches were not crowded at all, and being all the way on the end afforded us peace and quiet that other areas don’t have. We’re still biking distance from the central island, without being in the middle of all the hubbub. Favorite outings were to go karts and mini golf, and we recommend Jinks Creek, the Creamery, and Roberto’s for food. There is a Publix and a Lowe’s grocery nearby, but the house pantry already had many necessities. Thanks so much for a great extended-family gathering! Loved star watching from the top deck on our last night, storm watching, and hiding from midday sun on the lower shady deck, playing tiki toss! Oh and the hot tub plus chess & bags tournament! Great time.

Made our short trip so worth it!
This house absolutely made our beach trip work. On the spur of the moment decided to visit our daughter and her 3 young kids in NC. So we flew out from Phoenix, picked them up in Fayetteville and arrived not really expecting much. Boy, were we wrong! The house made the whole trip work. Plenty of space, stocked with all the essentials including sand toys. Even without the pool, the hot tub was sufficient. Right on the Beach! I think the owner even ordered the great weather! Thanks for being there when we needed it!
