We picked this location for a number of reasons. It has access to one of the best fishing Mecca’s in Florida. Fish are in abundance: Red fish, Snook and Tarpon. We had a great time! We actually got upgraded to a larger villa in the same area as this one was having work done. Different villa but everything I expect from a Florida rental, lots of space, clean, well equipped and a really warm swimming pool!

The owner is very rude. He never gave us the address to the rental, it was his address. We showed up there, he gave the right address after arguing that I didn't sign his application. He sent codes for the doors. The place was nice. Lots of ants and no-see-ums. The power knocked the garage door opener and fried the TV. When I called he didn't answer. After 2nd call, he picked up the phone, "I am in the middle of a project and don't have time for this, who is this and what do you want?" I explained. Well it had taken out the air conditioner as well, I didn't know at the time. I called in the morning, he wouldn't answer. I call his son. He was nice and had repairman out that day. The no-see-um bites we received at this property was awful. I definitely would not recommend.

Port Charlotte South Gulf Cove Rental Home
We’ve rented several vacation homes through VRBO prior and this by far was one of the worst experiences.
Many of the outlets in the home did not work, there was an extreme ant problem throughout the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms.
Also, the location was very remote and many miles from any type of services (Grocery stores, restaurants, etc.) not to mention, the landlord sending me an email asking me when I was planning on vacating when our agreed-upon exit time (per Contract) was 11 AM eastern.
Fortunately, we had an early flight out, so we vacated the property by 6 AM.
I would not recommend this home or this Landlord and am seeking to hopefully have some of the cost refunded, as the above referenced problems were NOT pointed out prior to our arrival.

The house was great, mosquitoes bad.
The booking process was very easy.

The house itself was very nice and clean.
Two things that upset us. First the property manager was very difficult to talk to and very rude. Second thing was the terrible bites all over us from inside the house. I will be contacting you by phone. And who as a property manager, he never clears his voicemail box, it is always full, how can you run a successful business if you don’t make yourself available when the clients need you the most, There we’re times before and during trip that he never returned my emails. I will never rent from him again

The only thing we didn’t really care for is distance you had to drive to go to stores and dining

Best summer vacation home we have ever rented!!
The house was amazing, you don’t need anything but your clothes and food. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed plus more. My family loved the pool and to be able to fish right off the dock in the backyard was wonderful too. Location was perfect it wasn’t to far from multiple beaches or shopping. The owners were easy to get ahold when we arrived at the home. We would recommend this home to anyone and yes we will be back.

wonderful florida home
This is truely an Amazing Home, the pictures dont do it justice ! Shopping Stores about 10 mins down the road, with lots of delicious restaurants! Our kids loved the pool and the baby gate was amazing for safety . We Caught some beautiful fish off the dock right out back, saw plenty of lizzards, enjoyed quiet dinners watching the sunset on the canal from the lanai ! Our family can not wait to plan our next trip to this house again !

Me, my husband and my 18 year old granddaughter came down from NY for some R&R and a pre-college bound vacation. The house was beautiful and clean. The pool was wonderful. Shopping and beach was close by. We really enjoyed ourselves and would defifinitely visit again. Thanks Lou:)

Needs improvement
The entire time we stayed here we could not get the TV set up, after talking to the owner for 2 days he finally emailed me the WiFi password.. it was NOT where insisted the password was for 2 days. Unfortunately after hooking WiFi up the tv still didn’t work so we used my cell phone hotspot and my Netflix. Also both propane tanks were empty and were not refilled for 3 days he did offer us to come to his house to pick one up on the second day, however on my vacation that I payed good money to relax I don’t feel that should have been my responsibility. So we had family bring their tank until the owner refilled one tank. Also the pool had a heater but, could not swim much for the pool never reached 70 degrees. so not sure if the heater even worked? We were left no trash bags or dish soap which we picked up from the local store but, Iv stayed in many cottages, vacation home in Florida and never had to buy these. The Dock that sets over the canal was nice but had only one working light so couldn’t really see. it was unfortunate.. probably would have been beautiful to set out at night and fish. When we checked out at 11:00 a.m. I called the owner he didn’t not answer also his voicemail was full. So I emailed him to let him know we had cleaned and left. I’m currently on my way back home and have still not heard back. Which is frustrating because after we had left we realized, we accidentally left a towel and were wondering if my family member could come by and get it... no response. We will not be reaching out to ever stay in this vacation home again.

Miserable
This property was advertised as having a garage and the photo in the listing was of a two car garage. I needed the space as I am in the middle of a move with a husband and four children. A boat occupied half the garage and not only took up space but blocked the electrical box. Not only was this a safety issue but the breakers kept flipping. I would then have to climb into the boat to flip the breakers back on. I am nearly 60yrs old. The closets and storage cabinets in the house were at least half full in every room. The kitchen cabinets contained lots of old spices etc. The bedroom closets contained everything from multiple bedding sets to a cat tree, to children's toys, to some very discolored and stained pillows. One of the master bedroom walk in closets was locked for owner use. The other walk in closet contained workout equipment and a gross old robe. The property manager stated that he'd come and reset the breakers. I complained that the breaker popped and sometime the next day he let himself into the garage which I was storing my property in and reset it. Another time he let himself into the garage and knocked on the utility room door where I was standing in my pajamas. Several other times he let himself into the garage to reset breakers because he figured out that the breakers for the pool, lanai, and master bathroom outlet popped every time it rained. It rains allot in Florida. No matter how loud I yelled he kept letting himself into the property without notice until it was time for us to move. I complained about the lanai fan being broken. It was replace. I complained about the millions of ants and that I needed an exterminator....the exterminator never came. I spent lots of money on ant spray, drops, and containers for my food because they kept getting into my food. At one point the pool was growing some sort of fungi that looked like rust. The pool company shocked the pool. We waited 3 days and used the pool. Approx a week later, they shocked the pool but no one told me. Someone should have advised the lady with four kids of the toxic condition of that pool! Then there's the absolutely horrible service I received from HomeAway/VRBO. The customer service agents could barely understand my complaints. I called repeatedly for help. Finally, I was put on a 3 way call with the property manager where I felt bullied into accepting the situation.
