Amazing property, a very niche hotel / Castle experience. Staff amazing, and amenities more than expected with such an old property. What an experience!!
That I didn’t book for longer to enjoy the gardens in more detail the following day.

We are a family of four and a child and we booked the presidential suite and suite. Both rooms did not disappoint and was exactly as advertised.
The staff and grounds are lovely. An ideal stay for couples or families with children.
The property is not ideal for people with mobility issues as there are steps to get to the kitchen and dining areas. There are only 5 rooms in this 16th century castle and even with the rooms on the ground level there i still the odd step involved.
The castle is operated as a guest house and not a full fledged hotel. As the name suggests the castle is in the rural area with no food options nearby hence the check in at 5pm.
Do manage your expectations and pack
your dinner and drinks for your stay or you will be living like a King but eating like a pauper, ( tap water was surprisingly undrinkable and cloudy ) and their breakfast options are pretty standard.
There is a full kitchen upstairs you can use to reheat or cook in and two dining options further up that one can choose to dine in or you may choose to eat casually in the room. Do save an apple or two for Bethalai the black horse on the grounds. She will be so happy to see you!
Overall if some improvements could be made in the comments below this would be a five star accommodation thou currently it warrants only a four. We would highly recommend the experience thou.
Checking hours are advertised from 5 - 7 pm and check out is 10am.
While a check in at 5pm makes sense, a check out at 10am is way too early.
Thankfully the housekeeper mentioned we could stay till 12pm.
While the presidential suite was was impressive, the door lock and shower on/off tap should be improved with a lot less struggling.
There is no bottled water in the rooms. Considering the tap water is undrinkable I would at least expect two glasses and a flask of filtered water for drinking.
Breakfast was no surprise if the ratings were anything to go by. Breads etc left outside the night before was a good idea if one arrived hungry.
Some cold meats/fruits in the fridge and some bottled juice options is all. Some effort here is welcome.

Stunning location and a real privilege to stay in a castle.
A little disappointed with breakfast.

A random booking turned out to a wonderful stay! This is a true castle and we were treated to an awesome experience in an awesome place!

This place is absolutely unique ! and we traveled all over Europe. Wonderful historic castle with modern facilities in room but still interior of room has very old style, historic mood. In our room we had the most beautiful historic bed in great shape. Perfect modern bathroom. There is wonderful patio and beautiful flower garden, also unique old olive trees orchard with chapel. That place was great but we think it is a pity that there was no place to sit outside, like bench near garden or in olive orchard or in patio. We wanted to drink wine outside in the evening but there was no place to sit... There is safe parking place ... you feel like in paradise, not worrying about anything just enjoying your time there. Breakfast is not served by staff but you can easily serve yourself as there is all you need, drinks, juices, cheeses and ham in refrigerator, many different kind of breads. We are so amazed with that place that we started to think about weeding of our daughter in there :)
We only missed place to sit outside in the evening, maybe a bench and a small table at patio or in front near the garden would be great idea.

We were completely abandoned after we checked in and were shown the facilities. No body appeared anywhere in the property after the agent left at 5.30pm. The next morning we had to find the dining room which had been left with yesterdays food left out all night. Then we found the kitchen which had plenty of food but nobody to prepare or serve anything. We left the keys on a reception desk and drove away. We could have emptied the fridges and freezer and cupboards full of wine and spirits and nobody would have known.
NO SERVICE!!!!!!!
