Fantastic Apartment in San Luis!

A great place right by a beautiful beach in a quiet little part of the island. Close to some lovely little bars and family run eateries. The staff and owner were very kind and helpful. We felt completely at home here! The AC is strong, which was nice considering some of the hot days. Beds were comfy. The bathroom had 2 showers. The kitchen was fully stocked, full fridge and stove. Cool back garden with a variety of fruit trees.They gave us a late checkout (1:30 PM!) and arranged for transportation to the airport. The owner even gave us some amazing breadfruit snacks for the road! Quality place run by people who care. And great value for the money. Would definitely stay here again - and for longer next time!

Great place to stay.

It was really near from the beach and the bus stopped right in front of the property.

The deposit amount had to be paid in cash and we didn’t knew so we had to go back to the center and get that money.

We would absolutely stay here again, it was a great set up for our family of 5 and ask the staff were great.

The accommodation for our family of 5 was perfect. It's an easy 2 minute walk to the beach. It has hot showers, which was very nice, the a/c worked great and it was very clean. All of the staff were lovely. When asked, they directed us to Anthony for help arranging a cart and tours. Anthony and his wife were fantastic. All they helped us with worked without issue. I fully believe if there had been any issue they would have fixed it. I accidentally overpaid for one of the activities and I didn't notice. A few hours later when the payment went through they alerted me to my overpayment and refunded me. I highly recommend connecting with Anthony and his wife for arrangements outside of The Chalet. The Chalet staff were so helpful too. I needed some sewing done on a broken floaty and a dress and they were able to have that done in town very easily. It being close proximity to the beach also means it's close proximity to residences and businesses that play loud music. You can say that for almost all of the rentals but, we were able to sleep perfectly fine as the Chalet is well built.

The electricity went out after our first day and the internet never worked again. That isn't their fault, they called the technician to come out to fix it. Before it went out it seemed to work very well.

Where is My Refund?

Proximity to the beach. The a/c. The taxi driver recommended by the hotel was great, met at the hotel and transported me to a new accommodation, but he charged double the normal taxi rate, FYI.

No hot water. Freezing cold water. Very tiny room. The proximity light outside of window came on every few seconds for the entire night. Zero internet. I had to leave after the night. For almost $300 for 8 days w/o those facilities, it wasn't worth it. Initially the host was cordial, but after 9 days of not having my money refunded, I have my character insulted, slandered and had my integrity challenged. THEY did not send the refund through the proper Booking.com channels, so Booking.com refuses to do anything but apologize over and over again. In no way should a simple refund take over a week in 2022. Zero. This is tying up possible emergency money needed on a credit card, and possible interest. To be told that it's MY bank, and accepting no blame for their mistakes is even more enraging. I wasn't going to leave a negative review, but after last evening when I flat out told the host that I trusted them, she comes back screaming at me, as if I've done something on purpose to hurt her childlike feelings (typical Colombian response of horror). I WANT MY REFUND. But when I do leave a negative review, it's always backed with facts and the truth.

Disappointing

It was very clean and well equipped. The woman that runs it was very friendly and welcoming.

Very poor location. The wifi is only available near the office. It was very loud and they reused the bar soap in the bathroom.

when you book with this property they don’t show you the photos of the room you have actually booked until after you have reserved, and if you do this on a non refundable basis, as we did, and then don’t get the room you thought you were getting then it is obviously too late. the photos of our room were buried amongst the 45 of the total property. as we had no Wi-Fi we did not see our actual room until we arrived. it was tiny with only 15 cms between each bed and between the bed and the bathroom. it was also missing features that we assumed wrongly we were getting such as a safe and bedside lights. we also found that 3 new rooms were in the process of being built directly above ours which we think we should have been informed about before booking. this also meant that the back garden, which was our view, was basically a building site. so when booking at this property be very careful to ensure you get the room you want. check your emails after booking for exact details of your room.

tropical paradise & accommodation made it for us!!

lovely appartment in great location.. few steps from beach.. Ingrid was amazing and so helpful.. did our laundry and helped us with everything we needed.. everything was spotless and nice cooking area.. highly recommend this accommodation, I wil definitely be back here next time I visit the island! Ingrid also has a beauty salon on the island if you need some pampering 😍 I could stay here forever☘️

Not the best accommodation in San Andres

the kindness of the staff

Too far from the center, no cleaning service, construction work on the property so a lot of noise and dirt, no cleaning offered, mattress horribly hard.

Inconvenient. Abusive management. Isolated location. No transportion options.

The ladies that work on the property are excellent. Management is very confrontational and do not do enough to communicate with their abusive neighbors. Our neighbor was aggressive and management had zero discussion with all parties. Only threats. We asked to be moved, and management would not negotiate a refund. We were told the money is theres, so we ended up moving out and paying for 8 days, only stayed 1. Also the reviews are not accurate, I would not be surprised if the were fake. This location is quite isolated. There are very few restaurants or tiendas. There is one tienda nearby that sometimes has bottles of water. Sometimes they do not. Transportation is non existent. Taxis rarely pass by. There is the bus that goes downtown, but that will take 30 minutes. There is no Uber. The hotel does have a list of taxis, but obviously they are usually busy with other things, so it is not reliable. Taxi to downtown is around 30K pesos each way. For the same price, we stayed in downtown with an ocean view, 2 bedroom luxury apartment with pools, gym, and many restaurants and bars. If it is your first time in San Andres, do not make the same mistake I made and stay at this location. They are confrontational, aggressive, and abusive to their tenants. They are happy to keep your $800US for the week once you find out the location description is not accurate.

Great Value in an excellent location

The location was great. Very clean. Secure. Kitchen well-equipped. Two minutes walking to the beach. Good seafood at restaurants along the beach. Try the lemon pie at Lydia's one block north of the apartment. Great place if you're looking to chill, swim, and drink.

Good quality for the price in San Andres

The space in the flat, the hot water, the AC, the bed was comfortable and it was close to the sea, furnished kitchen was really good. Kathy was really professional and available for any need.

Wonderful

The location is very good, a few steps from a nice beach, supermarkets around, some open 24 hours, bus from the airport will stop right by the entrance, same bus just in front of the hotel available to San Andres, the airport and anywhere on the island. The administrator Ms. Nubia is very kind and helpful, always available and ready to resolve any questions one may have. The kitchen is very functional with all utensils needed for 2 guests of the studio. A clean, friendly, comfortable and welcoming place, highly recommended.

Restaurants in San Luis will not be open after 5 PM, so you either cook or go to for dinner to San Andres town. The bus runs until 8.30 PM.

Such a pleasant place

The sensation of feeling at home thanks to the amazing attention of the housekeeper Nubia. Literally 1 min walking from the beach Quiet, safe and clean place. Just perfect !

Wonderful apartment, very close to the beach - 3 minutes walking distance, very kind and helpful staff. Great value for money. Close to restaurants and stores. Great service, very clean. I liked that place very much.
