Lovely place, great breakfast and wonderful hosts.

Nice old house
The room was up under the roof. It has only a tiny window and no view. Not worth 130 franks a night!

The hotel was charming and a perfect location.

Ideal location with terrace on lake… Room was excellent value and accommodated us well. Restaurant really good as well. Will return!
Stove didn’t work in kitchen, so that was unexpected but all worked out. Enjoyed having kitchen with nice size fridge since we were there all week.

The apartment was roomy and clean, exactly as presented, with plush towels and toiletries. The restaurant was also perfect and both the owners and the waiters were extremely kind and pleasant. The food was also delicious, do not hesitate to dine there!
We technically had what we needed to cook... However, the stovetop would not turn on, so we couldn't even boil water. Luckily, we had brought cold items for our morning breakfast, as we would have otherwise wasted our food - we are hikers and cannot carry too much from place to place.
As an aside, there is nothing to make coffee even if you brought your own grounds, which is somewhat of an inconvenience. The ferry departs at 8 am, but it is not possible to have a coffee before then as pretty much nothing is open before 8:15 am. This is worth nothing if you are hiking the Trans Swiss trail and want to get to the last stage on the early ferry (departing at 8 for Brusino Arsizio Lago) instead of waiting for the 11:40 one that gets you right at the treal head but has you hiking in the heat, or if you intend on getting an early start. Again, nothing major for the regular traveler, but good to know.

Perfect location
There should have been more options for breakfast.

it was very clean, cozy and the owners are frendly.

Next to excellent food in the restaurant incl. breakfast and very kind waiters/chef the awesome location and views. As tourist shops are around in case you want to stroll through the small village, you can extend the days with boating around on the lake, wander on the graveyards and above - yes, the village has a famous graveyard with spectacular graves and designs next to an impressive church etc. A MUST visit.
The bed's matraces. But as renovation is expected to take place I would assume this gets sorted then.

Good one night stop-over while walking the Via Gottardo. Clean and comfortable room with lake view from a top floor room. Very friendly staff. We didn't eat breakfast (at an additional cost) as not served until 08.00 and our boat left at 08.05.
Room was too warm for our liking. There was a portable air conditioning unit but no instructions for use. The small window opened for ventilation but let midges in. However, would definitely stay again and would recommend..

The location was great. The view from the room was incredible. The ferry station is directly in front of the hotel. The restaurant downstairs has great food. The owners are so sweet!
They pumped a powdery perfume smell in to the room which was very overwhelming, even with the windows open. Not sure what they were trying to cover up because the room was super clean.

location is great. beautiful view on the lac. friendly staff.
room is a bit basic. Quite expensive for what you get. breakfast not included.

The location was perfect and the staff was friendly.
We were on the top floor so it was a bit hot.

Fabulous setting by the lake. Lovely guys running it and the restaurant. Room had a very welcome free standing aircon unit. Dinner was very good and the service was great. Breakfast was also very good with breads, cheese, meat etc.
We would stay here again.
no parking but there is a small multi-story car park close by.

Fantastic location and wonderful view from the bedroom
The fact there was no tea making facilities in our room ..there should be for this price..and that we had to pay extra for a basic breakfast with no fruit or yoghurt etc

Al Battello is located right across a narrow road from the beautiful lake. We were given a parking card to a nearby parking garage.
We took two rooms, a bigger one for 3 and a smaller for two.
The building is old and has a charm.
View is perfect and a good swim is just a few meters away.
Upon arrival we found out that A/C is...well...not as expected. The large suite, a two rooms unit, had only a small, very noisy, mobile a/c that could not have cooled the place. A standing fan was the (far from satisfying) solution.
The other, small, room we took, also had a mobile a/c, but here it was worse: it's exhaust tube had to be placed outside through the window, therefore the window had to be kept open. It was hot and noisy.
Lifting the metres we found lots of dust, dirt and even a snack wrap.
Bed sheets and blankets were not clean and did not smell of laundry soap.
Offered breakfast was 18chf per person, no eggs, no salad, we skipped.

It is advertised as B&B, but you can enjoy excellent local food. Very friendly and you really feel welcomed. Also the flexibility to get a sandwich the evening before as I did leave early to catch the boat. The breakfast would have been served after the departure of the boat.

Amazing people working at the property and amazing views!

Can't comment on b/fast as we didn't take any. Dinner was excellent, service & staffs are friendly & service oriented. Location good too, the balcony is a plus point in summer especially. As we were there during the low season, traffic were less, thus, the noise was bearable. Assuming during high season, it's more noisy.
The accommodation, our room does need some renovations, new furnitures & lightings.

Very nice place, located in a very cute traditional borgo. Perfect if you want to stay for few days and are looking for a simple place to sleep. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. I very much liked my stay and appreciated the place. Quite romantic.
Breakfast was fine but a bit expensive (15.- CHF) and not very varied (some gipfel and bread with butter, jam, cheese/ham). It would be nice to have breakfast included.

We love especially the location of the hotel, the lake is just opposite so the view is excellent. The food was really good and very friendly hotel personals. We only stay one night so the noise from outside did not really bother us. The room was clean and cosy.
Absolutely nothing to complain :). The price is well matched to what was offered.

Perfect location and great rooms. We also ate at their restaurant and we really enjoyed it. Hotel right across from the harbor where the ship for Lugano leaves.
Nothing comes to mind.

The location is just as advertised. We stayed in the family suite which has a terrace with a beautiful view. The family suite is spacious and we had most of what we needed (except coffee/espresso if you don't want to pay extra for breakfast).
I expected more hospitality at a bed & breakfast. They weren't welcoming at check in and upon arrival, we were told we couldn't have dinner at the restaurant. We were told parking, an apertivo, & breakfast were included, they were not.

Nice attentive staff

Beautiful view from the room, perfect location, close to the lake and to the restaurants, restaurant as part of hotel with tasty food & great local wine, stuff was very friendly, can only recommend. Thank you.

The hotel has only a few rooms available. They are located in the old city of Morcote and therefore quite small, but located directly at the lake. You can swim in the lake just over the street (some steps on the right), or take the floating beach 200 m away.
The hotel also has an own restaurant under the same name. It is very good, and easily outperformed all other restaurant places we found in this city. We highly recommend eating there.
As the rooms are small - and ours was just under the roof - they get very hot in summer. Fortunately, the owner installed an air conditioner, which efficiently cooled down the air. However, this equipment is noisy and therefore we shut it down during the night.

Nothing!
The staff could barely say a few words in English. That was so difficult communicating with them. The toilet was so stinky. Uncomfortable beds. Certainly a waste of money. In a nutshel, super poor quality for such a high price.
