We stayed only for one night , on our way home. We had a lovely room with a very comfortable bed. Lovely shower. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty to eat.

Very friendly staff, very comfortable room for the night, and breakfast was terrific! Very good location on the main road up to Loch Tay and Killin.
Was a bit bright in the room at night, would have been good to have darker curtains since our room was looking out onto the main road.

Excellent location for walking and touring beautiful countryside. Good value for money. Shop and pub close by.

Good location just before you enter the Highlands in earnest. Friendly staff, accomodating breakfast needs, times etc
Shared bathroom, but it was stated when I booked so no problems with that. Would just prefer a private one.

Not much
We were checking in late, and felt like it really put the landlord out. Breakfast was of a one bacon, one sausage, one egg, cold toast type like in a 70's sit-com. Bed VERY uncomfortable, I got a better sleep in a tent with no mattress the night after.

The location is great and the breakfasts was very tasty. Great coffee and veggie full English breakfast.
The entire hotel appears to be run by a single gentleman. For a bystander, the place looks abandoned or closed. The man who runs it is not very sociable and you should not expect any chit chat or hints about local attractions. We spent our stay wondering if there's been some tragedy in this place, because of how sad and closed off that man was. It's definitely not a place that lets you forget all your worries and reset. We didn't mind, but some people might.

Horrible breakfast, uncomfortable beds, freezing rooms, and no staff at night: if you are unlucky enough to need assistance for any reason, you won't find it here. The man who greets guests for check-in is also totally lacking in social skills, and made both myself and my husband very uncomfortable. Stay literally anywhere else. It'll be nicer.
Here was the owner's reply to a review that I posted elsewhere:
"There was a power cut to 80,000 people, on the customers last night she was back at 20:15 she had a torch and went to bed. The heating was stained for 8 hours, she left at the time she would have had breakfast. She wanted a that night money back, tried blackmail."
This is categorically false. No torch was provided. I used my phone to navigate the corridors. We stayed three nights, so we had the breakfast on the two days prior. We did not "return at 8:15 and go to bed," either. I don't know where that's come from, since there was no one in the hotel. The kind owners of the White Stag Inn let us sit in their warm and candlelit pub until 10pm, and shared that they don't understand why anyone would stay in the Ben Sheann. Their hospitality made the night bearable. If you need to stay in Strathyre, I'd stay with them.
Finally, it's not "blackmail" to note that this place is a dump, and that in a powercut, the hotel owner made no accommodations at all for guest safety. Stay at your own risk. You're basically paying for a large bothy.

the waitress on second and third day was willing and helpful. MAYBE this would be nicer in warmer weather. decor in bedroom and hall were nice
no heating on in room on arrival or on returning on second day. bar and lounge were closed. food on first night was the worst I have ever had. Dead leaves from a planet in dining room remained for whole stay. Door on Shower room was flimsy and not attached at bottom.

Lovely location and views. Very helpful friendly lady serving a decent breakfast.
Uninviting welcome, being asked to strip the bedding when we left. cleaner with mask hanging round her neck rather than on her face. Poor quality and very old bed, bedding, duvet and pillows. Sink not big enough to shave in. Stained carpet. leaves all over the breakfast room floor.

The hotel is based in a beautiful location for what we wanted. Nice walks and scenery.
The women who work at the hotel in the morning for breakfast were lovely and helpful.
When we arrived, check in stated from 4pm till 8pm. The owner didn’t show up till 5pm and appeared very on edge when talking to myself and my partner.
We paid for the top room, although the room was beautiful we had a few issues with the the Ben Sheann. Firstly, the room was freezing, single glazed windows which let a lot of draft in and you could hear the cars outside. The radiators didn’t get that warm which meant the room was cold most of the time. Hot water is hit and miss, I have a bath then my partner went to get in and the water was freezing cold when it come round to filling it up again.

Location was great, easy to get to. Plenty of parking on site. Checking in was easy enough, and provided with a breakfast ordering form for the next morning. The room was spacious - bed was comfortable. The bathroom was fine - towels and toiletries provided. Breakfast was amazing.
Check in was pretty late, at 4pm. And that's a definite 4pm - the front door of the hotel was locked before this... so had to wait a little while in the car (lucky we had a car, and the weather was nice!). Also, we were provided with a bin bag to place all of our bedding/towels in, prior to leaving... Little odd - but maybe a precaution due to Covid? (still, I've never had to do that before!)

The lady who did our breakfast was lovely, the man helpful, gave us all we requested.
The was no water pressure in the shower and the sink was tiny even though there was room for a big one. The eggs were terrible (other bits from the breakfast were lovely)

Host and staff were very good. Engaging , helpful and attentive. Breakfast was good with excellent service. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. COVID measures taken by the hotel made it feel safe and secure,.Although it had no evening meals service or bar service, the host offered to cook something for me. The price was very good value.
Generally the room was in a good state of decoration but a small number of areas required repainting.

it was clean, great location, breakfast was good
wasn’t happy with our room and the toilets, a box built at the side of the room then a small sink in our room, toilet door didn’t close properly, no privacy, I asked for a better room as it was a special occasion, was told the rooms pretty much the same, we saw some of them and we had the least nice room in the hotel, would have appreciated a move for our second night

Good size room. Excellent breakfast. Perfect location for exploring.

The location
The single glazed windows, the traffic noise levels are very loud. The man that greeted us at reception appeared as though he didnt know what he was doing, looked very untidy and unkept. Not a very professional way go greet guests. He also had trouble actually understanding the guests who were all checking in. All of us had to keep on repeating our names for check in.

the breakfast was outstanding amd served by the happy smiley host and nothing was too much trouble. was also in a perfect location to explore the Trossachs 👍 beautiful scenery right outside the door everywhere you look.
the only thing we didnt like really was the bar was closed but hardly their fault its coronavirus.. but they did offer to make drinks if we insisted.

The breakfast was excellent.
The welcome was a little underwhelming.
There may have been better rooms available but our toilet /shower room was tiny and the very small hand basin was in the bedroom area.
