Location was beautiful, the ideal place for a couple to relax and enjoy each other’s company. We had everything we needed and the best part was sitting on the couch on the veranda and the birds coming in to have a curious look.

Beautifully secluded cottage on the Blackwood River woke to the sounds of nature and the calming sound of the river.
Nothing too not like it's a perfect place.

The serenity and beautiful view .. The 4 poster bed was very comfy
The heating was inadequate .. we were cold most of the time.. Glad we took an extra blanket from home

Location was exceptional, clean, facilities beautiful. Rained the whole time and loved every minute, only down side to leaving a 5 star review is the opportunity for getting to stay again. You will not be disappointed.
A little cooler in cold winter days but manageable once you got the heaters going.

I loved the cabin. It was located in a beautiful spot near the river and was so quiet and peaceful. We saw kangaroos and so many little birds. I loved the four poster bed, it really added a romantic feel to the accommodation.
The owners were so friendly and helpful when unfortunately the power had failed. I would like to mention to others that this cabin is off grid. It has hot water and electricity but be mindful that it is a compost drop style toilet and when the electricity isn't working there is no hot water for your shower.
It has a mini fridge and toaster and kettle. A BBQ on the balcony is fantastic if you want to cook for yourself whilst there. We didn't have the opportunity to use it but I am glad there was the availability. There is crockery and cutlery and pans for cooking on the BBQ. I loved that the owner left fresh fruit in a bowl for us to enjoy. Coffee and tea and milk in the fridge.
I highly recommend this accommodation if you want to get off-grid and escape the city.
There is no Wi-Fi availability at the cabin and phone reception is minimal to none. So, if you know that and are happy of the freedom of technology this is a great get away spot.
Only 15 minutes to the town centre of Nannup. Just be mindful it is approximately 2km of dirt road driving to get to the cabin and don't use Google Maps, follow the owners instructions when they send them to you as it will get you to the right location.
If you are interested in Hemp and products that are made from it - the owners have a Hemp Farm and are happy to give you a tour and talk about the benefits. They also make products from Hemp which you can purchase from them.
All up despite the power failure we had on the weekend we stayed we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barrabup Sanctuary - BirdHide and definitely recommend it if you want to go off-grid and enjoy the peace and quiet of the country.

Great spot for holidays in summer and very particular facility
Not suitable for business trip. Very cold in winter and heating not enough to warm up the room. Bathroom did not have any heating and was outside the room.

This is a down to earth Aussie experience with a little luxury, secluded amongst nature with kangaroos, birds and even a possum, great for destressing from city living.
Overwhelming room freshener, had to put it outside. The bed creaks a lot when getting in and out of it. We don't mind that it is a bit back to nature in that it has a drop toilet and were happy to cook our meals on the BBQ, might not suit some folks.

Breakfast not provided but lovely fresh fruit and tea and coffee facilities. A quiet place in the forest with a peaceful view of natural bush land and fauna. A few minor maintenance issues with the doors but certainly a very pleasant spot for a quiet time away.
Stronger lighting inside

very peaceful, clean and a very comfortable bed!
only thing I would Métis rest in inclement weather it could get damp on the veranda and you would be inside. Otherwise it was very cosy.

The perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle wish I could stay longer.

Out of our 2 weeks stay in various hotel and farmstay in perth, this place is the most memorable one, it's by the lake, quiet, wooden house yet have everything we needed in the room, heater, mosquito net, toilet, hot water, nice soap, smal functional kitchen, nice BBQ and cooking place. The night was quiet and the stars are beautiful, away from the city. Car parked right in front of the room. In the evening, you can see groups of kangaroo moving across the field in the distant. Bed is comfortable, glass windows and doors made the whole place like sleeping in the wood. The only downside is the night visit to the toilet, we have to get out of the comfy room to the cold toilet.
Toilet to the bedroom have to pass through the open, so you are expose to the cold air and possible insect attack. But it's a small thing compared to the experience.

Liked the boho vibe. Comfortable bed. Bonus points for having a teapot. Lovely being on the creek and nice to see lots of birds.
The outside access to the bathroom and toilet was a bit of shock in the early hours and chilly weather. Kitchen facilities were a little basic. A better heater in the colder weather might be an idea.

Washing dishes was a bit tricky with only one sink to hand

The serenity, peace and quiet. Waking up to birdsong and the flowing river. The disconnection from technology. Giving you time to reconnect with each other. The different bird species is an absolute treat. With no other campers and people around they all come out to play. As bird and wildlife photographers, it was magical. Will definitely be back! Thank you for trusting us to make payment. I would maybe suggest that banking details be sent, when they send the map and other details on email. Or instruc to bring cash. With no reception in the area, it makes bank transfer tricky. But overall an amazing experience, thank you! Can't wait for the next visit!

The cabin was fantastically placed to watch the local kangaroos and the abundant bird life. There were quite a few kangaroos on the way into the cabin and, the next morning, 2 small ‘roos right near the verandah.
The shower in the morning was cold. It was lovely and hot the night before. I have lived on a farm so am used to rough tracks however a metropolitan or person not familiar with the Australian bush might have found the entry track a bit scary.

everything about the stay was lovely, amazing location
Not a huge fan of the drop toilet

very peaceful and a complete getaway with the limited phone and no wifi

Comfortable bed.
Power cut from 02:30 until 08:45. No one offered an explanation in the morning, after encouraging us to keep the heater on all night, as it was freezing. Never saw a member of staff at all. We had left a verandah light on as the long drop toilet and hand basin was outside, and there was no other lighting. The power cut didn't help. This after paying $195 for one night.
