Building ist big, there were cold areas in the house. But the room and the kitchen were warm.

Perfect introduction from house-owner

The atmosphere is unique, both the building and the surroundings are stunning. We spent just two nights unluckily, we didn't want to leave! Mathieu, Ingunn and Frederik (especially him!) are the best hosts possibile: warm, welcoming, fun, willing to explain about the history of the place, patient to answer all the (maybe stupid) questions. Mathieu gave us a tour of both the castle and the farm nearby where they live, and he's also a kayak teacher and guide: we didn't have enough time to try a kayak tour (also I was a bit afraid/lazy) but we will next time for sure!
There's a big and beautiful kitchen for guests with everything you need to cook. Definitely a place to be!
Everything was more than perfect for us!

Frendly staff. Cosy athmosphere. Good beds.
Corridor sounds were loud in room becouse there weren't no doorsteps. It was difficult to darken the room.

Very nice people that are always happy to help. It is not a five star hotel but it is a charming hotel with a lot of very interesting history that the owners of the hotel will be happy to show you. Great stay!

Great hotel.
very nice owner who is happy to help you.
the room was perfect.
good beds and a nice view.
beautiful dance hall where we made various dances.
in short, perfect.
we were alone in the Hotel during our stay.
The building needed some maintenance but the owner was working on this.
Wasn't a problem.

Idk
The whole house was cold, but otherwise everything good.

The owners were very helpful. The rooms were warm comfortable and recently refurbished. The drying room is big with enough space for all your equipment.
There could have been more equipment in the self catering kitchen.

Nice kitchen area to cook & hang out with other travellers
Experienced hosts, very helpful with tips for activities!
Great location, short drive to many ski touring mountains
Overall rather cold given the large space of the building, not very cosy

Large shared kitchen
It looks all abandoned, it’s cold and there is no privacy.

Very special old building, the owners are very considerate about is a during a small your they tell you all about its history. The owners are very kind, friendly and helpful. In recommending and organizing activities. We had their a lovely home cooked diner and breakfast. Even with some of the produce of the farm.
Nothing the hosts could do any thing about. It wss very cold in this old and special building. However our room was super nice and warm.

One of the best accommodations so far.
The lady of the house is super knowledgeable and she gave us a tour of the house. A part from knowing a lot about local history she's also a nature lover and an organic farmer.
The room was glorious with a view of the fjord.
It was warm and cosy, the bathroom was clean and the surrounding area very nice. The weather didn't really allow us to go explore the mountains so i guess that's for another time.

This is certainly no run of the mill hotel, it’s a unique experience. We were welcomed by the owner and she gave us an elaborate tour of the building and it’s history, which was very much appreciated by us. The building is amazing. The room was beautiful, and there were lots of shared spaces we could use: a huge communal kitchen, a sitting room and much more. We had a private bathroom on the hallway. The area is amazing. We did two hikes in the Lyngen Alps.
Nothing.

Building was a maze. Got lost a few times.
Old building has some issues with indoor air quality. But that's not a surprise.
Bringing moose in was forbidden :(

Amazing beautiful old school really like a castle.

Impressive building. Free use of kitchen. Advice from staff on where to buy supplies, ferry times, and an introduction to the building. Interesting building history.

They way they are maintaining it. It was very clean and people were so warm and nice. Very helpful.

Amazing building with lots of space, ski room, good kitchen for guests, extremely friendly and helpful owners
4.5
The combination of the friendly hosts, historic building, beautiful views and great cross-country skiing right behind the house made this one-night visit special, no matter the snow storm ... Great to be able to make your own food, too. I can only recommend it!
Some may find a winter visit cold, but the critical places were so cosy and the ambiente is just a great benefit.
3.5
Although the building was being renovated when we stayed there, Ingunn and Mathieu (owners/hosts) made us feel welcome, helped us out with all our needs and even gave us hiking advice (Blåvatnet) and where to drive to have less light pollution for seeing the Northern Lights.
It can get cold in certain parts of the building, which is understandable however, because it's a work in progress.
