Home, with much of it's original woodwork, is located less than a mile from Chester Bowl and Bagley which have both running, mountain biking, and Nordic ski trails.
The home is just blocks from being on the Duluth Traverse, less than a mile from Chester, Leif Erickson, and Bagley. We are centrally located so you can quickly get to Spirit Mountain, Superior Hiking Trail, and so, so, so much more!!!
Your hosts spend most of their free time on the numerous trails and bodies of water in the area and would love to share their knowledge with you to help you plan your excursions!
Limit of 7 people, pets only upon approval, $75 pet fee.
Our home is a safe, secure, licensed rental PL20-089 .
Check in is after 3pm and check out is 10 am unless we are vacant after you, then you are welcome to stay all day, just ask us...we are super flexible if it's empty before or after! We recently updated the decor in the entire home, replaced quite a bit of the furniture, and got a new stove!

Totally met our needs for our stay! Hosts communicated well in a timely manner. Place was clean & well appointed but is definitely an older home—floors are very creaky & wouldn’t recommend for light sleepers.

We chose this house because it is a similar layout to my grandparents' former home, which is a few blocks away. This is an older house in a quiet neighborhood, all the amenities of home, definitely not a hotel. Great selection of games and books and Up North Wisconsin decor. Kitchen has more dishes than you could ever need. There aren't cabinets available to stash your food while you stay, but there is some counter space and the garage has space to put your emptied cooler and boxes or bags.

Centrally located, accurate listing details, friendly host, and clear instructions. Easy to find everything. Water temp and pressure were great. This home is great for a small family looking for a quiet, smoke-free location.

The name they have given this property is spot on. Easy access to anywhere in Duluth. Hosts provide very clear instructions for check in, use, and check out. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in town!

We were very happy with our stay. Lots room for the whole family. The kitchen was well stocked with items needed for cooking.
The floors were a little squeeky BUT to be expect with the age of the house.
We would definitely stay here again if visiting Duluth.

My friends and I stayed here for Spring Break. It was awesome! We had a great time and had lots of entertainment options. Eve and Wayne were super nice, Eve was in communication with me at all times and even offered to let us stay longer after there was a snowstorm!

Our family very much enjoyed our stay at ”The Most Centrally Located Vacation Rental in Duluth”. Communication was definitely quick and very informative. We got there nearly at midnight, but with all of the instructions was not a problem to find, even in the dark. The house was cool when we got there (outside temps were low 20’s I think?), but warmed up so fast. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed, and some nice extras too. We appreciated the Keurig (coffee maker available too). My mother-in-law loved the hot chocolate! We were able to use the decks of cards. We brought some too, and played a crazy game where basically everyone plays solitaire at once. There were some fun books, great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. My teenage daughter liked the pink toilet and had something to talk about later with her friends. We got to see the largest waterfall in Wisconsin. Check it out- it’s in Superior and not far from the road. :)
The location was super convenient, and not too far from our son’s apartment near campus. It was great to see where he lives and what’s around there too. Duluth is a beautiful city- thank you Eve and Wayne for our wonderful visit! I hope we can come back soon.

This is only our 2nd vrbo experience and the communication was excellent. Especially good for WI sports fans even tho we route for purple and gold! Our college kids enjoyed the cozy environment for our UMD family weekend.

We stayed at Silent Urban Escape as a mini get away that included our dog. The home was very comfortable and perfectly located to explore Duluth and more. We explored both the Canal park area and walked along the lake. We also took the owner’s suggestion and hiked around Chester Falls. The house was a perfect spot to also drive up the coast to Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock lighthouse. The owners were very easy to reach and were in contact with us early to make sure we were comfortable on one of the hottest days in Duluth. We highly recommend staying at the Silent Urban Retreat.

This house is exactly as described in VRBO. The location is very central for activities. The owners are very responsive and helpful in explaining how to get around the area (and answering other questions). The availability of appliances/supplies we needed was very well thought out. For instance, there was shampoo and conditioner available in the bathroom, along with plenty of towels. We had our three adult kids and the one full bathroom upstairs plus the basement toilet were both used. We rotated shower times and didn't have any issues. FYI, there is no grill or backyard to speak of (not an issue for us as we knew that was the case going in). There is no parking on the street, but you can park in the garage. We had a rooftop carrier and so wouldn't fit, but we could easily park sideways along the garage door so there was no issue. I would stay in this house again if we returned to Duluth.

We had an amazing time in Duluth. The owners were very helpful with recommendations. We even got recommendations on where to go from some of the shops downtown. Would highly recommend!

A central location means you're very close to what Duluth has to offer (which is A LOT). The beds are comfy so you can enjoy Duluth while rested. Easy communication with the hosts so if anything comes up, it will be addressed. If available, flexible check-in and check-out times! That really saved us when staying in Duluth for UMD orientation.
The property has all the charm and character you can expect in an old home.
And! We accidentally left a prescription behind. The host contacted us to let us know AND dropped it in the mail for us. Very thoughtful and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay--the house was not fancy but had everything we needed. We especially appreciated that we could bring our dog on our weekend away for a soccer tournament. The games and books available, as well as trail recommendations, made it feel like a getaway and not just a place to rest our heads. Check in communication was easy and quick. Thank you!

Eve and Wayne are great hosts, very informative about property and area. The house is stocked with pretty much anything you might need for your stay! Just be sure to pay attention to the house rules, as you are very close to neighbors.

We enjoyed our stay. It is nice to have a garage to store the car and bikes. The owners are very responsive with questions and suggest great things to do on our visit. It was fun biking in Duluth but the hill to the house is a long haul when returning!

We enjoyed our stay in this simple, comfortable old house on a classic Duluth hill. The house was quirpy, very clean and very funtional. We both cooked meals there and found good restarants to eat out. We had wonderful morning walks some down to the lake and some of us witnessed a deer with triplet babies in the church playground.

This is a great property for active groups. IT was amazing to be able to have our dogs with us and the house had everything and more than you need. The garage was prefect for storing our bikes in between rides. It was a great central location to be able to explore all Duluth had to offer.

My husband and I, along with our 3 young boys (3, 6 & 8) loved our stay at this home. Eve was absolutely wonderful to communicate with and I really appreciated her sincerity and above and beyond helpfulness. We really appreciated their home being stocked with Kleenex in most rooms, this was especially important considering the cold winter weather. Also, the beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean and welcoming. We loved looking through the multitude of games and books available to enjoy! The only thing that ended up being an unforeseen issue was for my husbands parents, who were each visiting us for a few days while we were at the house, was the bathroom. It was not explicitly stated on the listing that neither of the bathrooms would be on the main level. For my family of 5 it was fine but my MIL just had back surgery and was not able to stay with us due to the stairs she would need to climb to use the bathroom throughout the day. Similarly, my FIL has COPD and he also had a very hard time getting up the stairs. Everything else was fantastic! Our family loved snuggling on the large and comfy couch, playing games together at the large wooden table and making memories together that we will always cherish! Thank you, Eve for being a wonderful host! I would absolutely stay at this home again if I it were just my family! I highly recommend this home for its location, charm and wonderful hosts!

It was nice to come visit our family and bring our dog along. Also nice to have a kitchen to make meals. Being within easy walking distance to Chester Park is also a big plus.

Really enjoyed our stay while visiting our daughter at UMD. We needed a place that allowed our three dogs, and they loved it too. It was like staying with a relative with all the comforts of home. And it was so quiet at night! The bed was super comfy! Located in a nice central location, so convenient for wherever we needed to go.
