The hotel is in a very beautiful setup. It's a peaceful place which really let you enjoy and admire the surrounding nature.
Very friendly personal that provide you with all you need including a delicious breakfast rounding up this wonderful place.
Sheets and towels could be changed more often although if you ask for it, it will be done immediately

My stay was very good the staff is very kind, the breakfast is simple and tasty! The common area is great, very cozy! Regarding the location although away from the city or the “village” it all depends on what you are looking for, it is a different experience totally connected with nature!
I believe you could have the option of electric shower for not so hot days, Wi-fi in the rooms, better access on the dirt road ;)

Beautiful location in an unique jungle atmosphere, completely surrounded by nature. Really astonishing.
Rooms are really nice and comfortable but need to be more clean. Also since you are surrounded by nature a bit more attention on how to prevent animal infraction in the room would be ideal.
The structure lacks in organization and welcoming services.

I was in TerrAmor with my partner at the end of October. The hotel is located in the forest, about five minutes drive to the village of Alter do Chao. It has a main communal lounge area which is completely open and with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding forest. From the lounge area, there are wooden paths that lead to a number of wood cabins. Our cabin was simple and rustic but clean, spacious and comfy. It had a double bed on the ground floor and a single bed on the upper level. It had a ceiling fan but we rarely used it as it was cool inside. The bathroom was also simple with a very good shower with room temperature water. In the bathroom there was a window that opened from floor to ceiling. It allowed us to look out at the nature while in there. There was also a small patio in our cabin where we could spend some quiet time contemplating the surrounding nature. There were no flies or mosquitoes, but during the night there were large spiders around, as well as smaller insects like ants, grasshoppers and cockroaches. There were also smaller reptiles like frogs and geckos. The cabin where my partner and I stayed was quite open so there was no real physical barrier that could prevent small animals from getting inside during the night.
The breakfast was served in the lounge area. It was varied and plentiful, and consisted of regional fresh fruits, coffee, fresh fruit juices, scrambled eggs, cheese, butter, jam, bread, etc. We really loved it, especially the tapioquinha prepared for us every morning.
On the hotel grounds there was a trail that took us through a short hike to the hotel observatory on the top of the hill. It had amazing views of the lake and forest. There was another trail to the beach but we didn't have time to do that one.
The owner (Indios) made us feel welcome and was very attentive. He was able to communicate with us in both English and Portuguese.
We highly recommend for a true experience of the Amazon forest.
While we chose this hotel because of its beautiful grounds and surroundings and because we wanted to be close to nature, we would have preferred if during the night we didn't have to worry about small animals crawling on to the bed or over us. Regardless of whether this was a real or just perceived threat, it would have given us extra peace of mind if there were more netting either on the cabin windows or around the bed. However, it's fair to say that nothing really happened during the three nights we slept there despite our worries and the absence of netting. It's also worth noting that this place may not be suitable for people that are afraid of spiders or nature in general.
During the night it was quite dark around the hotel grounds. The wooden paths would get illuminated through motion sensors as we walked through them. However, sometimes, the lights wouldn't switch on or would take too long to switch on and we couldn't see a thing in front of us. So we often had to use the torch from our mobile phones.
We rented a car to explore the area, so we drove to the hotel from the Santarem airport. Most of the way was on paved roads, but as you're getting closer to the hotel you need to take a narrow dirty road going uphill, which was quite unpleasant and felt treacherous at times. Also, while parking in the hotel was free, the parking space was limited, and during our stay, part of it was taken by wood planks and other construction materials.
Due to its location, rent a car if you decide to stay in this hotel. There's no public transport and limited taxi availability to take you to/from there, and it would be quite a long walk to/from the hotel to the village of Alter do Chao. The hotel offers airport shuttle, but I'm not sure if they offer any other type of transportation beyond that.
