Beautiful breakfast and views despite the rain
Starting to date, selection of double & single meant removal of couch and therefore no space.
3.0 / 5.0
Firstly, the good - the majority of the staff were super sweet, friendly, and helpful, but there was widespread shirking of responsibility, which mainly can be attributed to management
The hotel is not quite up to date and somewhat worn out - both rooms and other facilities. It could use an upgrade, especially considering what a night's stay costs.
We could only get one key card for the room, but when you are two people, it can be a bit annoying.
At the pool, there were plenty of sun loungers without competition, but since the cushions were not taken inside when it rained - they were naturally wet or clammy.
The worst part was the access to pool towels - waited over 45 minutes on several occasions. Several employees did magic tricks for us meanwhile - you asked for a pool towel - yes, a moment - and then they were vanished. However, found one of the disappeared after 40 minutes - asked where he had my pool towel which he promised to fetch for me. The answer: Not my problem, Management problem – talk to management. And continued his work.
Towels in the rooms were also not functioning optimally. Not 5*
The breakfast buffet was ok. The quality of the coffee could be improved - and the same goes for the coffee machines - there was often a queue.
Several times I asked for an avocado toast from the a la carte - every day it was sold out. When it finally succeeded at the end of the vacation, they had almost forgotten the avocado.
And fine avocados could easily be obtained - for example, at the super good and cozy restaurant right next to Luuma Beach.
Communication - there was no communication from management to guests - although they had a fine messaging system on the TV.
All in all, not a particularly good 5* hotel and in my opinion (with quite a few hotel stays under my belt), it is poor in terms of value for money. I don't think it can be much more than a 5-6 out of 10 customer rating."

Great views, friendly staff. Short tuk tuk ride from Galle Fort.
Air conditioning was noisey and rooftop bar played music very loud until early hours. This was only on one night or our 2 night stay so could have been a one off.

Nice property located right at the beach! Got a free room upgrade and early check in as well!
Though generally the staff was nice, at times some staff acted quite rude and unfriendly. Limited vegetarian options in the buffet during breakfast and lunch!

The Duty manager Dixon is very helpful and tried to do his best to support guests. I appreciate his action
1. The bellboy who took my bag up was very rude. He talked to guests as if he is in a market talking to other boys.
2. When I checked out I called the reception 15' beforehand to ask them to print out the receipt for my stay. But when I went down nothing had been done. Mr. Harsha, the receptionist was most inefficient and disrespectful. He could not locate my reservation for the previous day even though I stayed in the same room, and under a different reservation. In the middle of that process, another guest checked out and he immediately tended to that guest abandoning me. I asked him to complete my check out first, (but he carried on dealing with the other person, ignoring me all the while keeping a stone-cold face. Not a single smile or any gesture to show hospitality. In no other hotels even 3 star hotel there are such rude staff, not knowing how to do their job. Lack of respect is seen throughout. Around the pool, staff who were lounging about just said 'hi' to strangers/ new guests rather than 'good morning Madam/ Sir'. Staff training seems to be lacking here
3. During breakfast when guests want peace and quiet and listen to the waves, a worker using a huge machine to mow the lawn, producing horrendous noise. Not very inviting

The breakfast was not really good, but dinner was great. Service is very bad. I had to leave the hotel one day earlier cause of the service standards.

They have a huge variety for breakfast and dinner. The pool is quite big and the water is warm. All the rooms are facing the ocean. I liked the vibe of this place, the stuff is very welcoming and helpful. The room was huge and clean. The view was amazing, we could hear the waves. The room was quite at night. I really recommend this property for 2 nights.
The music from the bar during the day can be a bit loud which can bother if you want to take a nap. They have limited sun beds which means you need to wake up early to get one. The sand and the waves at the beach are quite rough. You need to pay extra for soft drinks for breakfast or dinner. The hotel is a bit isolated.

everything was so spectacular

The property is massive, with a nice pool and private beach. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. Staff were polite and helpful.
The rooms all have lovely balconies with a stunning view of the private beach and ocean.
The cleaning of the room was not thorough. The bathroom drain had a constant stench during my stay, and sand on the floor was not properly cleaned even after 2 days of stay.

Hotel is very convenient. It’s near Galle, you can get there by tuk-tuk or taxi for shopping and walking. Staff are very friendly and always solve your problems.
Thanks a lot!!!!
There is the tuk-tuk mafia on all south coast Sri Lanka (there are these people near hotel too), which sell transfer services very-very expensive. Because of this you can’t take a taxi-car near hotel, because it doesn’t come to hotel.
But it isn’t the problem of hotel, but problem of government.

The hotel is beautiful. We were in the one bedroom suite and it felt surreal.

Huge hotel. Caters to big groups. Got all the facilities you need. Huge pool and excellent staff.
Its a resort so don't expect the local life, although the staff are super friendly. The beach is tiny and gets big waves. Don't expect to easily swim in the sea. Do go out of the resort for food and nicer beaches. It's between 2 beautiful towns so do go on day trips.
