Everything was great. Super clean, nice and carrying people

Flying Annie Moa is a very nice hotel in the center of Neiafu, very close to the port and to the main restaurants, few minutes walking. It has a nice atmosphere and the breakfast is taken all together on a large table in the dining room. The rooms are confortable and clean. Excellent!!
I had only a problem: the little market down the street had the music high volume at any hour and I could not enjoy the silence :-(

Clean, secured, comfy, welcoming, friendly efficient staff, good location (5 mins walk to whale watching, 10 mins walk to town centre, lovely views).

-Very well located, in the city center and at 3 minutes walk from the whale swimming tours. More convenient than the hotels on the other part of the island, because you have access to all the facilities of the town.
- Extremely clean !! The floor, the bathroom, the bed, the common kitchen, etc… You feel like at home
- Staff is amazing, they helped us when we add issues, give advices and super cool
- good breakfast, just what you need for your day
- comfy bed and bathroom pretty modern for a hostel in the Pacific (I did 5 other hostel before, so I have quite a good benchmark)
- large commune living room with sofas, you somehow feel at home
- nice terrasse to enjoy the sun and a coffee after Whale swimming tour.
No negative points, the accommodation is not well rated on Booking, but after 3 days there, I definitely don’t understand why, given the fact that I am a “picky” girl traveler. I think the bad comments/ratings are outdated, and not accurate anymore.

Great location. Clean, comfortable and regularly cleaned during our stay. Great view of the harbour. Breakfast was very good and time to get to know others who are staying at Flying Annie Moa. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
WiFi dropped out most of my stay and I needed it for work.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Peti, Nia and Leli! Walking distance to Neiafu. We also really appreciated the balcony.
We booked through Booking and there was little info on payment and no direct way to get in touch with Flying Annie Moa. Would be good to get more clarity when booking a room.

Breakfast was prepared with care. Availability of fresh ingredients was appreciated. The dining/living area could be more comfortable as the tempreture was quite high on all the three days I was there. This made eating and relaxing in the areas most uncomfortable. In as much as I would have liked to stay out of the room, I had no choice but to go back in just to be comfortable. Air conditioning would be a great investment.
The service of the staff was unreliable at most times. Case 1. Communicating with the staff was almost a non event as I had to make multiple calls to various numbers listed, some of which were no longer working but still displayed as being active. Case 2. I was informed that I would have someone at the airport waiting for me with the hotel name on the vehicle and with the hotel name on a large card. I waited for about 15 minutes and could not see anyone, nor any vehicle. Someone else was kind enough to give me a ride to the hotel. Upon questioning the hotel person who was assigned to come and pick me up, she said that she was there and saw me! If so, where was she because she did not come to me. She was either late or was lying. Case 3. There seemed to be a communication issue between two members of the staff. They seemed to talk low of the other person and it was always the other person's responsibility. I enquired one of them to tell me how much my total accommodation would be in Tongan dollars, she said $350.00. I went out and got cash from the ATM. But upon checking out I was told that it was Tongan dollars $750.00! Oh, but I can now only pay in USD and they would not know the rate until the Western Union office was open. I had a flight to catch and could not wait around. I insisted that the staff member finalize my booking as I had to leave. The service was very unprofessional. As such, they never asked for my room key, nor did I remember to give it. I have been informed by my family there that a staff member came to their home stating that I had to pay for the 'lost' key otherwise the family/friend would have to pay for it.

A great location for the main attraction, whale swimming. The property does have its own whale swim boats which is great. The most enjoyable part about the stay was chatting with other guests at the end of each day and swapping stories about what we all had seen. Vava’u is an amazing place and certainly somewhere we will return!
