About this house rental
Centrally located, our cabin is a 6 minute walk to the lake, a half mile to the Village and a mile to Snow Summit. Featuring a Jacuzzi and fireplace, Bear Lake Hideaway is situated in a quaint neighborhood with a lovely, welcoming spirit.
Just down the block from Meadow Park which offers tennis courts, volley ball, basketball, kids playground, and a dog park. Ski Beach, which sits adjacent to Meadow Park, provides a path down to the lake (and water skiing when the lake is full). The Village is also walking distance, a half mile down Big Bear Blvd. The best breakfast place in town, the Grizzly Manor Cafe, is right on the corner!
There are board games for your family's entertainment. The kitchen is fully stocked with the following appliances: a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, range, and refrigerator. Linen and towels are included. We do recommend bringing extra towels for the Jacuzzi.
We currently have Spectrum Cable's Silver package which includes sports, HBO, and Cinemax
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire 2 bedroom cabin, fireplace, BBQ and spa. Help yourself to anything you need.
Interaction with guests:
We like to give our guests privacy, but you are welcome to contact us anytime with questions or concerns. We are available via text, email or telephone call. We usually respond to any message within an hour.
Other things to note:
Guests are welcome to use the fireplace, however, we do not supply firewood. Small pieces of wood work much better as our fireplace is great for atmosphere, not for heating the cabin. There are plenty of places in town to purchase firewood, though you might want to bring some with you in advance.

We absolutely loved this cabin!!! The size was perfect for our family of 4. The location was perfect, close to downtown and the lake!! The cabin had everything we needed (kitchen supplies, bath towels, shampoo/conditioner, etc). The TV and internet worked perfectly, and the jacuzzi felt amazing!! The only thing that I would recommend is bringing 2 small fans if you like it cold at night. Otherwise, I definitely recommended this cute cabin!!!

This was a perfect 2 night stay for me and my two labs.

The cabin was cute, though as many have stated, the seating situation is not ideal for a family. Someone will have to sit in an uncomfortable chair that makes your thighs sweat. There's room for another couch instead of the rocking chair. I notice this is a complaint going back to 2021. Should have studied the photos better. The code to get in was wrong which was frustrating after a long drive and waiting 90 minutes to be able to check-in. The owner did check-in with us to see if we needed anything. Lots of spare blankets and pillows. Good location to The Village.

Great home, great location. Jacuzzi! Would definitely recommend. Going to try and book for next year. We have kids and a dog and it was perfect. We dont ride anymore but its 2 min to moonridge and slopes. Grizzly Manor 45 second walk. Get it to go and eat at home. Best place we have booked so far especially for the price. Book eary to help save on rate.

We just stayed 2 nights but the place was nice and the location was great! Super easy check in and the property is nice. We had a blast shaking and would stay again for sure. The hot tub was great after a day on the slopes!

Everything was great except the sink in the upstairs bathroom that was very slow to drain. Using the fireplace resulted in some smoke in the bedrooms upstairs, despite having the flue open.

the cabin was cozy and quiet all the birds /crows made it vintage and creepy

This place was incredible. Walking distance to a lot of great restaurants. Hot tub was clean and chill. The duck statue in the bathroom cracked me up. Definitely want to stay here again in the future.

A quaint and lovely cabin in the middle of everything. Had a great time with my girlfriend and would definitely recommend this place.

Very cozy, clean, and comfortable. The location was great, and we had a fantastic time!

The cabin is cute, central to everything. It does need some updating and it wasn't the cleanest. There were some cobwebs in some places and the upstairs tub was backing up. However, given the recent weather conditions I would definitely cut them some slack. Over all it was a great stay.

My family and I had a wonderful few days in Big Bear. We got very lucky with the weather. Got maybe an inch of snow the same day, right after we got there, and then picking up gradually and finally hitting hard when we left on day 3.
Sledding at the Aspen Glenn picnic area was perfect for our 8 year old twins. This place is only about a 5 minute drive. No need to pay $20/hr per person to go sledding.
There are very good amenities close by on Big Bear Blvd. Big5 sporting goods for a couple of flying saucer sleds & mitten upgrades. And The Oakside restaurant was awesome for late lunch after sledding all day.
The owners/property managers communication was very good. They checked in with me to make sure I didn't get snowed in.
The cabin is in very good order. Such a cozy little log cabin feel. We cooked a few meals in the kitchen and had everything we needed. The living room was very quaint but I think could use some more comfortable chairs for relaxing by the nice fireplace.
The beds were quite comfortable and they had a lot of extra blankets to keep warm.
I think it would be hard to fit more people comfortably. In the end, it was perfect for our family . 2 adults + 2 kids.

Easy peasy registration and route to get there. Cute & comfy! Impending snow storm cut visit short but still enjoyed the cabin! Thank you!

our family of four had a great time here. the cabin had everything we needed and more! our only complaint would be more comfy seating in the living room like a bigger couch to relax on. we loved the grizzly manor and snowboarding at summit was only 4 minutes away. we will be back again next year for sure!

This cabin was super adorable and cozy. We took full advantage of the hot tub and fireplace. The location is perfect and a pretty quiet, calm neighborhood even though it’s right off the main road which was also great because it was walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. The mattresses and pillows were very soft, squishy, and comfortable and the water pressure was great. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The cabin is okay, needs general maintenance. The location is not good, due to close neighbors, busy street & loud traffic.

Very nice place. Kitchen is well stocked. Close to the lake and the Village. Enjoyed the front porch at night and while bbqing. Big Bear Blvd can be a little noisy in the Am with windows open, but we were there mid week.

My dad and I had a lovely stay. We ate at Grizzly Manor for Brekkie and Dynasty for dinner. Do both! You won’t be disappointed.

The cabin is great, wonderfully situated.. but the listing and the house need some TLC. We had a great time but there were some real concerns. First off, the beach that is promised 5 minutes away is closed, and has been closed for years. Would've been nice to know. The hot tub smelt funky (though hosts did have it serviced promptly), the BBQ was dirty, the windows barely opened, some appliances were broken, the games had missing pieces... If the owners spent 5 minutes in this house, they could simply throw the broken parts out / clean up instead of leaving guests to discover that there are no scissors or complete board games. We made do with a 1 and 3 yo but there are some safety concerns, hole in the kitchen floor, sharp knives very accessible. And yet other things were not advertised and we stumbled upon them: free pack and play would have been great to know about so we didn't lug ours out.

The place could be a lot more comfortable if the owner updated the seating situation downstairs. Scrap the random wood chairs & old loveseat & put in a couch. Our family of 4 had a hard time relaxing in the space. Upstairs shower head was broken & leaking - rec using the downstairs smaller one. Kitchen was great- fully stocked. Overall cleanliness was good- could use a deep cleaning, I.e, dust build up in blinds. Overall a good value for the price
Location was great, love the walk to grizzlys & the lake.

Only thing to watch out for is the upstairs shower. If the water splashes up high it leaks on the kitchen table downstairs. Goes down through the wall or something.

Good house for a family of four. Close to ski resorts, and a short walk to the lake/playground. My only suggested improvement would be to add a bigger couch to accommodate 4 people. The loveseat was cozy, but with 4 of us, the others had to sit on either a hard rocking chair, or the ground. But everything else was great!
