Beautiful but loud

The location was great, close to the river. The apartment outside was beautiful and cosy on the inside. The host was nice and very responsive. All basic facilities are in the apartment.

Unfortunately the noise kept us from sleeping. The apartment is well isolated, and the windows block out most noise from the street, but it still is a very busy, loud street. Most noise however came from inside the apartment building, with loud knocking, music, moving furniture... from other guests and/or neighbouring apartments. The apartment gets very warm even though outside was mid-twenties (°C). It has no AC, and opening the windows was annoying with the noise. We always had the small fan on when in the apartment. We were also a bit disappointed with the 'rental-vibe', where we only got two toilet paper rolls for 12 days, no cleaning during our stay, no fresh towels... It's a very DIY-experience, where other places include this as a standard.

Really wonderful apartment in the heart of Porto. Would recommend!

Easy check in (arrival time given to host who was present to give key and introduction to the property), Location was very central and right next to a strip of popular restaurants. Apartment was very clean and tastefully decorated. Despite being on a very busy street, the double window doors blocked out the sound perfectly. Wifi was good.

Privacy was slightly tricky as you could not have windows completely open without the brunch eaters on restaurant across the road seeing everything! Also note it is on the 2nd floor without elevator (not an issue for us though).

This is a great apartment. Easy to find, large, quaint apartment with kitchen amenities and more. Turn to the right is 2 breakfast charming comfortable and yummy locations, plus a bakery.and then onto the tourist location and Sao Bento train and metro. Then, within a couple of minutes, shop the Bolbao market. To the left are quaint resturants, benches to sit and relax, enjoy musical artisans at night. During the day, enjoy shopping restaurants, cappuccinos, and pottery. Continue to explore, the Tram is roughly 6 minutes walking, then the riverfront and Fado locations. While on the Tram, stop off in Foz. Can not miss an opportunity to visit the beach and all of the restaurants. Some spectacular spots to check out are Aviero, Costa Nova, and Duoro Valley, including food tours and Port wines. As a solo traveler, this was a fantastic location and could be comfortable for 2 travelers. The owners were fantastic with my traveling delays and scheduling for a driver to pick me up. I can nor wait to return.

In the heart of Porto

Location excellent. Soundproofing excellent. Shower excellent. Clean and tidy, good communication. Facilities as described.

No separation between bedroom and lounge. To be fair we were warned of this and if it's a couple it would be fine but we were two friends, so it wasn't ideal. Not being able to open one of the balcony windows. The apartment is quite dark. Not enough loo roll and needs a new loo brush! Would have been a good idea to have been given 2 keys.

The apartment is perfectly equipped. It is really comfortable and has everything you may need. The location couldn't be better and the hosts are really kind and helpful. We were a bit hesitant about the noise which could come from the main streets but we didn't have any inconvenient.

We had a wonderful time in Porto in this beautiful apartment!

A gorgeous apartment in a perfect location, a short walk from Sao Bento train station. Many cafes, restaurants, and shops along this busy pedestrian street. The bathroom had plentiful hot water and great water pressure—the best shower we encountered in Portugal!

No complaints at all, just a suggestion that guests staying longer than three nights would appreciate a second set of towels. Also, there are stairs to climb so would be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.

Great location!

The location is spectacular and with windows shut it is extremely quiet despite the vibrant location. Great bakeries, restaurants, and all the sites are easy to access.

The bed and furniture were not particularly comfortable. some things need replacing such as a very old and a bit corroded espresso pot and the pan for frying eggs.

The apartment and the location were both excellent. It is in the heart of the tourist area and close to all the sites. The apartment has all facilities and the hosts were very accommodating. I would recommend it.

The balcony doors have slightly restricted opening but it was no great loss.

Comfortable stay in beautiful building, central location

Amazing location in a beautiful building, within walking distance to the river and main attractions of Porto. The street the building is on is busy with cafes, bars and shops, people walking there late at night too, but the double windows in the flat worked wonders - we are quite light sleepers, and were surprised how much noise they actually block. Comfortable bed did its job too. Shower over the bath had a great water pressure.

A bit musty smell in the flat, including towels ☹ Although windows block street noise perfectly well, you can hear neighbours form the upstairs flat which can be quite disturbing at night time.

Unbelievable experience. We would like to come back again.

John, the host of the apartment met us on arrival to handover keys and explain everything in apartment. It was super nice. Apartment is great with historical touch. We really liked windows and wall facing the street as it looks very special. Location of apartment is very central, and close to shops, restaurants and main sightseeing. It was also nice that apartment is facing pedestrian only street, so no cars noise. Double-windows in apartment allows to be in very quiet space, but we actually liked to keep it open and enjoyed a nice music from the cafe nearby. Apartment has everything that you need to stay, including kitchen, etc. John also left us some welcome Port wine. We really enjoyed our stay there and definitely would like to come back. Huge thank you for apartment owner to make our trip to Porto even more exciting.
