Wifi is erg goed. Makkelijk parkeren

beautiful place in a beautiful setting
best hotel we stayed in out 2 weeks trip in the Azores, can whole heartedly recommend

The bungalow is very large, with a wonderful bed and windows showing the beautiful surrounding nature. The bathroom is large as well, with a warm shower. The bungalow has a little kitchen (fully equipped), but there is also a much larger shared kitchen in the breakfast area that we were able to use. There is plenty of seating space both inside and outside. The pool was at the most perfect temperature as well.
Finally, the staff was very friendly and helped with planning our activities as well as helping me book a rental car (recommended!).
We had cockroaches in our bathroom during the first three out of the four nights we stayed here, which made us a bit sensitive to little sounds during the nights. The stay-over cleaning was bit so-so and we even spotted a few cobwebs. The unit has a great air conditioner, but it is located in a little hallway with a doorway blocking most of the airflow from reaching into the room itself, which made cooling of the very windowy bungalow take a while (it would usually cool down well enough for a good sleep, but during the day it would be too hot).

easy to get to everything on the island and everyone was so wonderful !
can't say that there was anything .

The property was close to Urzelina but incredibly peaceful. Easy to walk to a small shop and a couple of restaurants and see the harbour. The family, and Monika, were extremely helpful offering very reasonably priced boat trips (with Miguel who is a marine biologist) and cooking a wonderful squid paella for guests to share one rainy evening. The communal area was very well maintained with delicious breakfasts each morning and pastries/ fruit throughout the day. The villa itself was very comfortable and the hosts could not have been friendlier.
Nothing!

Beautifully landscaped and modern, comfortable furnishings. Each casita has big sliding glass doors onto their own private patio with views across to the island of Pico. Also the breakfast included amazing homemade breads, jams, yogurt, and juices and eggs from their own fruit trees and chickens - not to mention freshly made waffles - so delicious! The staff were so kind and helpful, and it was only a 6-minute walk into the little town where there were a couple restaurants and a small grocery store. We can’t wait to return!
Truly can’t think of anything!

Beautiful, serene property, nicely landscaped and near the sea. Friendly and helpful owners; host drove to find me when I arrived, as I got lost, even on a small island, ha ha!
Very large kitchen with many choices for breakfast and homemade jams, yogurt, etc.

Everything. Amaro and staff are fantastic hosts. The villas are super modern. Breakfast is really, really good. The view on Pico Island is also amazing. Sad the weather wasn’t good enough for the pool which looks good as well. Will definitely come again!

This is hands down one of the best small hotels I have ever stayed at — and I travel a lot. Amaro and Julia have created a slice of heaven: spotlessly clean well-decorated rooms amidst a gorgeous garden, and a breakfast that is generous, varied and filled with fruits, eggs from their garden and homemade bread. We must return!
It was perfect.

Definitely recommend staying at this place!

It was excellent. The location, rooms and food.
TV signal was a little bad but that didn't really matter as it was stunning.

Fantastic property run by a wonderful family (also highly recommend boat tours run by the son, Miguel, a marine biologist who spotted a number of sea creatures from turtles to dolphins to a species whale!). The property has a beautiful location right on the water with easy access to swimming (in the ocean and a pool) and the town of Urzelina. Breakfast was fantastic and there are free homemade cakes and fruit plus an espresso machine available all day. Service was above and beyond, even helping us find a rental car when none were available on the island. Room was spacious with a king bed and AC. Loved our stay and hope to be back!

Staff is amazing. Everytime available to help and give very good tips around S. Jorge Island.
The place is so peaceful, relaxing, very well cared and with an amazing view to Pico, right in front of sea.
The room is perfect, bed king sized with a big bathroom.
For now the best accomodation in Azores.

It is a very lovely, cosy place with ocean and pico view. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits, ham, cheese, home made cake, bread and lots more. A nice little pool was highlight and Mr. Amaro is a very kind host. Thank you very much. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We originally had planned to stay one night at Villas Casteletes, but as soon as we saw how beautiful and perfectly thought out (and maintained) it was we stayed for three nights (our whole stay on Sao Jorge). The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast is great, and if you don't feel like going out there is a well equipped kitchen open to use and even a small private patio with a view directly to Pico. When we come back to Sao Jorge we will return without hesitation to Villas Casteletes to visit Julia and Amaro. The photos look nice on booking, but don't do justice to the real beauty of the place.

The location and accommodation is an oasis of calm with a direct view on mount Pico, free coffee, tee and cake and upmarket design. The rooms are lofty and modern, the small kitchen area handy, the breakfast varied and very tasty. The hosts are helpful and the husband speaks very good English (which, you will notice is rare, if you travel around the archipelago or on the island). All in all a beautiful place.
Design trumped function in a couple of areas and a basic hospitality logic failed at the start: 1) the lighting in the room: stylish but not very functional as it is too dark to read comfortably. But it is cozy... 2) the shower: flooding the floor seems inevitable. And the bathroom window does not open (or requires brutality, which I didn't apply), so airing or getting the humitidy out is a challenge - which can lead to smells after a while. 3) The check-in was a relatively unhospitable experience: I called the husband as my flight was delayed and all was good. I then arrived at the property and the experience changed. I was greated in a shouting rude tone in Portugese and treated as if I had just tresspassed. Once I cleared that we needed to communicate in English, the hostess still didn't click that I might be the one, single, female, foreign guest that had booked a room and continued on remarks about making a new booking (seriously, only two bungalows were occupied as I was there, including mine...so logic and deduction would be a good thing here!). Once that got cleared, the quite universal hickups of the Azores: not being able to remember your last name for longer than 5 sec. even with a formal ID (and no, it isn't a pronounciation problem it's a two word last name problem aka. basic hospitality respect). But that one I had almost everyhwere as the hospitality industry is very immature on the archipelago. Get ready for that. After that, things became "normal".

Great Hosts. Amaro welcomed us in Late check in, left the common space open for us with coffee, cakes, drinks.
Superb breakfast. Eggs from their own ckickens, natural juice with a mix of oranges, papaya and goyaba from their own farm, great pies, cakes made by the host Julia.
Overwelming front view to the ocean, with a great outside view spot with wooden chair and tables, great back view to the mountain, reminding us brasil, but better...

The owners are extremely nice people always trying to make your stay be as amazing as possible. The property is beautiful (loved the pond with koi fish), the bed super comfortable and the breakfast very tasty! Will stay there again when I come back to São Jorge.
The internet did not work properly at times but it was not problematic.
