The one dinner we had was very tasty.
The Oluwa Seun Beach makes a good impression at first glance. However, it was then already with the good impressions. Upon arrival the two staff members were hopelessly overwhelmed with our booking. They said we were a day late, even though the booking made it clear we were there on the right date. Two minutes after our arrival there was a power outage, well that is not uncommon in Mombasa, what was unusual was that the backup generator was broken. The result that we had to use small solar lamps to find our way to our apartment at night. The next shock in the apartments, due to the lack of electricity, there was no water for the toilet and shower, and the air condition was not working. So we had to go to dinner dirty and sweaty. Already at the dinner, which was very tasty, it was teeming with cats in the dining room, which demanded a tribute with loud meowing. The staff tried to scare away the pests but to no avail. This cat concert was repeated the entire night under the bedroom window, so that a restful sleep after the long journey was out of the question. My fellow travelers were visibly disappointed and overtired the next morning and said they wanted to change hotels. What should also be mentioned is the apartment equipment in the shower, toilet and kitchen is very old, strong signs of rust on the fittings in the showers, loose unsecured electrical connections, hardly any equipment in the kitchen such as plates, cups and pots. The fact that we were billed for the early change of the hotel for this night of horror on the next day is the crowning glory. As we found out, we weren't the only travelers who left the hotel early the next morning because of the conditions. My rating, the employees were friendly, the kitchen was good, the hotel and communication with the management were bad. All in all not recommended. I will also reserve the right to claim back the 15,000 shilling commission.

The pool was enjoyed by the children
Management became defensive and unapologetic about the numerous interruptions and disturbances especially during our Easter dinner while they fixed an Air Conditioning unit that did not work properly and the restaurant was a joke.

The place is beautiful. It has a lot of good potential. The owners are awesome and easy to talk to, and seem kind. The kitchen ladies were kind and helpful. The beach was also a potentially beautiful place. We think they've got a good thing going on here, it just needs proper renovations and care.
The fact that they advertised decorated beds online isn't what you get. There is a lot promised online but in reality it's different. Our house wasn't what we booked, we got a smaller room and still paid the full amount. Upon asking we were told that the living room is counted as a bedroom so we got what we asked for! And it wasn't cleaned as we killed cockroaches and ants under the table and sofa when we started unpacking.
The bathrooms were water pools. Water running out to the bedroom wasn't a pleasant experience at all! The broken bedroom door, unwashed utensils, roaches flying out from wardrobes, ants, despite us cleaning thoroughly, broken toilets and the lie that they'll be fixed (never happened), the throwing of thrush from the facility into the ocean late at night (videotaped it and will upload in various forums and social media platforms), the fact that the janitor refused to give me back my money and instead claimed that he deserved money from me! It's very far from the main road! We never knew how much we'd have to spend on logistics. It is expensive if you have no personal means of transportation or someone who can drive you around. That is never told to visitors until you decide to go out. I just wish they'd be a bit more professionalism and better caretaking of the facilities.
