We loved it, short walk to the beach and to the docks to fish and crab. Just wish tropical storm Debby would’ve have messed up a couple of days
4.6
A great place to carry family. We rode bikes, went to the pool and the beach. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach pulling chairs, toys etc. Freshfields village is very nice. A nice 1 1/2 mile ride to all kinds of shops. Nightly bingo and outdoor movies! I wish in info it was stated that e-bikes are not allowed on Kiawah island and the strict rules for riding in a car there. That was all a surprise. Once we figured out all the do’s and dont’s we had fun. The house was very well stocked with things you need. Much better than most rentals offer. A great trip!

This is an older property that was nicely situated. It is close to the entrance of Kiawah Island and Freshfields village and a short walk to the beach. The community was private and quiet with a nice pool a block away. There is lots of shade in the neighborhood.
There were four adults and two toddlers on our vacation, and the house was big enough for that many.
We rented bikes including two with toddler seats and they were delivered to the door. Biking is great on Kiawah, but beach biking can be difficult when going against the wind. We biked to a playground for the kids a few miles away on the many bike trails on the island.
4.6
The house was exactly what we needed. Enough space, quiet street, access to a nice pool, and easy walk to the beach. 10/10 would stay again.
4.6
Great place, great area. Loved our stay here. Thank you
4.6
Had a great time on the island. Being able to bike everywhere was so much fun.
4.6
We stayed over the Kiawah marathon weekend and had easy access to the race start as well as convenient for shopping.
4.6
Great Time overall
4.6
Great location, all the basics, great communication from property manager. Lots of beach chairs and other beach essentials.
4.6
nice place to stay with lots of activities to do

Great vacation home with access to a great pool and short walk to beach. My family really enjoyed our stay here, great instructions throughout our stay. We’d love to come back with Kayaks and Bikes and maybe take advantage of golfing.
4.6
Nice place. I liked how the house is a little back from the street. We had a very relaxing stay.

My daughters and grandchildren came down to Charleston for just a fun little getaway. Found this lovely jewel of a home on VRBO and could not have been more pleased! Plenty of room for all of us to be able to just relax. The screen porch was my little getaway in the early mornings! Would definitely stay again

We had a great weekend! Perfect place for the race. Very comfortable, clean, and convenient. Will definitely stay again!

We were pretty disappointed in the rental conditions. The pictures were not a true representation for what we expected. The backyard was over grown. We wanted to have a fire in the fire pit but the weeds were knee high and there were downed limbs everywhere. We also wanted to enjoy a little fishing but the boards on the wall were rotted and loose making it dangerous to try. The stairs leading into the house were rotted along the edges and the gutters were so full of pine needles that they hung down over the front deck. The number sign on the house was broken and didn’t light up. The inside of the house was very outdated and in need of repairs. The faucet in the kitchen sink was loose and the countertops had broken edges. The entire kitchen needed updating. The ice maker in the refrigerator was broken. Also, the TV in the living room needed to be replaced because there was a gray fuzzy line all across the bottom of the screen. The was no TV in the guest room and the one in the mater bedroom was not a smart TV so we could not login to our Netflix & Amazon Prime accounts to watch any movies. The shower wall in the master bathroom was duck taped where the tiles had come off the wall. There was no screen on the window in the guest room so the window couldn’t be opened to enjoy the cool breeze. The track on the sliding glass door leading out to the back deck needed to be cleaned or replaced because it was very difficult to open.
On the plus side we were able to checkin a couple hours earlier. The beds and the living room couch and loveseat were very comfortable. We loved the area and the shaded walking path to the beach.
Unfortunately, we would not stay here again unless there were repairs and renovations made.

Tucked in privacy near the spillway is a home away from home. Short walk to pool and dock where Roseate spoonbill and egrets swoosh by.
Beach supplies easy to transport and perfect weather to provide tanning, boogie boarding or swimming in ocean!
Awesome sunsets at beach or ocean. A great choice!
4.6
Dated property in need of maintenance and updating. Left property clean only to be accused next day of breaking into and stealing from supply closet. WHAT?
My guess, cleaning team lost a key broke in etc. As Steven has every reason to be upset he needs to direct his accusations to his team.
Now the end of my vacation is ruined as I have been falsely accused of a crime
Be wary of this when you rent.

The property is within walking distance to beach and pool. It helped to have wagon available for all beach equipment! Parking at beach is $20. The kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed. Had an issue with refrigerator not closing properly so water would accumulate on shelves. The dryer needs repair. Extremely loud! The back porch was nice. The grill worked great.
4.6
We would stay again as overall we were good. However, a few things to note:
- Dryer is a fire hazard. Very loud. Been brought up in reviews before and still not fixed.
- Broken light on outside stairs is a hazard. someone had duct taped it.
- Clean up underneath the house could be done.
4.6
watch for the extra fee's and charges! The additional charges, service fee's and tax was over $900 for 4 nights, most of those fees were added after we clicked the complete booking. Very disappointing. The parking permit was not emailed until our check in date so we had no way of printing the permit to get access to other facilities and amenities. Inside was very outdated and smelled of mold. The walk to the beach was at least a mile. The pool was very enjoyable.
4.6
The property is in a great location, pool and beach walk easy. The house is older and needs some updating but the property managers worked with us. Would definitely stay again if updated.

This place has issues. There's a large crack in the bathroom ceiling that leaks brown water every time it rains. The door to the back porch is super hard to open, the clothes dryer sounds like a bomb is going off when it runs, no ice cube maker with only two trays available. Curtain barely closes in master bedroom. Those are the top things.
On another note they gave us 100.00 reimbursement which was nice pluses they left us a bottle of wine and some cookies which was thoughtful. They also provide a lot of beach chairs, toys, beach towels etc.
It's just what is important to the renter.

My correspondence to the property managers, with 2 follow ups to them, and no response at all. Zero! Here’s what I wrote:Hi Steven, this is Susan. We recently stayed at Sprigg’s shack from June 23 through the 27th. This is my first opportunity to contact you since I've been back. I have been getting emails from VRBO asking for a review and honestly my review would not be very good. I want to let you know how bad that place really is. It's very dirty. Actually borderline filthy. The floors are filthy. I took a napkin and put some water on it and wiped the kitchen floor and it was black. I have pictures. My daughter killed a huge roach and there were other bugs in the home as well. As you already know, two chairs were busted and should never have been in the house. The fabric chairs in the kitchen are filthy. The bedspreads are stained. The Queen bed had a flat king size sheet -Not a queen sized fitted sheet as it should have had. The couches, chairs with fabric, and carpets need to be professionally cleaned. The floors need to be mopped. The light in the master bathroom was like a strobe light all weekend and we had to shower in the dark. The refrigerator Needs to be repaired. It builds up water on the shelves and all of our food was sitting in puddles of water. There was a scary loud noise coming from the closet. Not sure what that was! We were afraid to look. I took videos for you to see the light and hear the noise. The rat trap of course startled us for the entire stay. You weren't even aware there was a rat trap. Have you been to that property recently? I was also shocked to see the breakdown of the cost that we were charged for almost 700 in taxes, and then additional service fees. It cost us over 3300 for four nights in a dirty broken down home with a rat trap and roaches . Lastly, I would never have booked the place had I known we couldn't have a guest which was my sisters stop by or be in the place. That's absurd. I am extremely upset with this entire stay and very bad experience and I am requesting a refund. I couldn't deal with this during my daughter's wedding but I am dealing with it now. I am asking you to do the right thing and make good for the horrible experience we had at your property. Thank you.

We had a great stay at Sprigg’s Shack. The home was very clean and had what we needed for our short stay. Great location. Appliances are a little dated but didn’t bother us.
4.6
Great location and nice property. Only issue we had was that we never received the gate code. Since our arrival was late at night and delayed even further by flight issues this was a bit stressful at 2 am. I had several emails with the door code and parking passes but no gate code. Fortunately security was very helpful and we were able to get the code and really enjoyed the stay. Property had been cleaned (rugs were not put down and there was a bar of soap on bathroom floor but for the most part very clean) and had all of the essentials. I would definitely stay here again.
4.6
Really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful location, super close to beach and pool just down the road too. Enjoyed renting bikes and getting around on Kiawah Island. Property is in an enjoyable location overlooking a lagoon. Screened in porch was one of the best features!
4.6
The property itself was in a beautiful location. There was an issue of ants infesting the kitchen (they were there upon arrival, and some came home with us). We understand that that’s the nature of nature, and very much enjoyed our stay. The kids loved crab hunting, and we (adults) loved sitting on the screened in back porch and making a fire by the marsh.
The kitchen is extremely well stocked, we are foodies who love to cook, and we were all impressed.
The bikes are super dirty and have flat tires, so they were not usable, and there weren’t beach chairs and other promised amenities available. The toilets are also a little tricky, and there isn’t much hot water for showers. We still loved our trip and the stay at Spriggs Shack.
4.6
We had a great time at this West Beach property. The location near Beachwalker County Park and surrounding trails provided a lot of recreational opportunities including biking, jogging, beachcombing, and wildlife viewing. The clubhouse and dock area was perfect for sunset viewing. We were a little disappointed about the lack of privacy (back yard is adjacent to main road to park) but overall a great experience.

We loved this house. Plenty of room for every. We ate all of our meals at n the screened porch and used the grill for most of our dinners. It was a beautifully stocked kitchen. We rented bikes from Alligator bike rentals that were in perfect condition. We both rode bikes and walked to the beach. You are able to both ride bikes and bring leashed dogs on the beach. We did not have our dog with us but it was fun to see the dogs on the beach. The pool and dock were fun and there were great sunsets from the dock. Love the location snd the feel of the community.

Sprigs Shack is a great house in Inlet Cove. It was probably the best equipped house we have ever stayed at on Kiawah! Beach towels, chairs, games, puzzles, lots of dishes and cups, even a juicer! It’s an easy walk or bike ride to the beach or Freshfields. Beds were comfy, lots of extra blankets. The pool and dock area is really nice too. Can’t wait to back to Kiawah.
4.6
We enjoyed our stay
4.6
I want to start off with the good things. The house is large, very well equipped and clean. There were a few issues. There was road work directly in front of the house for 3 of the 7 days we stayed. I wish we informed of this prior to our arrival. The biggest gripe however was that the internet was painfully slow. There is no need for that as the owner should pay a little more for the faster speed from the provider and get a better router. Finally, the bottom 10% of the TV screen in the living room flickered for 20 minutes or so whenever we turned it on. iTrips management wasn't very helpful in these issues. We have stayed in enough rentals to know it's the little things that separate a so-so place from the really good ones.

enjoyed property. very close to great access point to the beach.

Easy seamless process.
4.6
We enjoyed the location of this property immensely. It was an easy walking distance to the beach and a nice home base for activities on the islands and in Charleston. Spent all our time on the screened in porch! Bedrooms were comfortable but a little worn. Had every amenities you could think of.
4.6
Beautiful location and set up to stay with friends and family. Pool and dock area were fantastic with amazing views. Short trip to the beach and stores. We loved the screened in porch to relax it still enjoy the location!
4.6
This was the perfect beach home for our family! It was clean and the furniture and beds were very comfortable. The house has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing beach vacation. The screened in porch is a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The pool area is very nice as well and the beach at Kiawah Island is the best one in the Charleston area in my opinion!
