Nice garden level apartment on quiet street with fantastic owners. Clean and comfortable living space that included 2 bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Washer/dryer downstairs and in great condition. Nice outdoor space out back but we didn’t use it as we were gone most of the day.

I had a terrific 1 month stay here. The apartment is clean and quiet with a nice big bedroom and well set up second bedroom/office which was well set up for remote work. I had my dog with me and so having access to the back yard plus the Carroll Garden Park a block away was fantastic. Paul and Ewa were good landlords -- available when I had questions, friendly, but not intrusive. The Cobble Hill neighborhood is lovely, full of great cafes and restaurants and close to subways that make the whole city accessible.

What a fantastic way to experience Brooklyn! This lovely 2 bedroom garden apartment in Carroll Gardens was the ideal way to experience Brooklyn and NYC overall. The unit itself appears to be recently renovated/updated with a modern kitchen and bathroom - it's on a quiet low traffic street with trees surrounding you from all angles but just 2 min walk to Court Street and Smith Street for retail, dining and fun. The F and the G train are less than a block away, making city trips easy and for those with children we found 5+ different playgrounds within 5 mins of the house. The hosts are generous, polite and respectful. You won't go wrong here!

We stayed at Paul and Ewa’s place for a month with our 18 month old toddler. There are so many nice things to say about the location within Brooklyn that it’s easy to forget about the apartment itself. But I’ll get to that.
Still, this is one of the cosiest Brooklyn neighbourhoods one can imagine and perfect to spend with a toddler. The playground is right outside - on the way there mom and dad can grab a coffee at the Hungry Ghost café on the corner. The indoor playground (KidVille) is also handy to have nearby for the rainy days.
As it was chilly we didn’t spend any time in the apartment’s garden but it sure provides the same sense of coziness as in the public space.
The kitchen is well furnished - pots and pans a plenty - and we cooked quite some meals though there’s obviously no shortage to have food delivered at your doorstep either.
The pictures confirm the top notch state of the apartment. Maybe, as it is a basement unit, in winter it will be less ‘bright’ as the pictures make it seem, but this won’t be an issue in Summer :) oh and there’s floor heating which we definitely missed the day we got back in our own home!
And then there’s Paul and Ewa. Warm hosts and extremely accommodating in all aspects. We are very grateful for all the advice they provided. They made this temporary home truly feel like a home.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Brooklyn. The apartment was clean and comfortable and allowed us some space to rest after long days of activity. The nearby subway stops made it easy for our family of 4 (kids ages 10 & 11) to navigate NYC. Although we loved our outings in Manhattan, most evenings we found ourselves back in Carroll Gardens around dinner time. This was a highlight of our trip; walking to the multitude of restaurants and shops within minutes of the apartment. Ewa was a wonderful host.

My wife and I stayed at the property with our two teenage children for 5 days and it was a great home-base for exploring NY and Brooklyn. The property itself is meticulously maintained and has everything you need as a home-base for an extended stay.
The location in Brooklyn is very convenient with coffee shops, restaurants and everything you need half a block away (parts of it reminded us of our hometown of Portland OR). The best part was the sense of neighborhood with families on the streets and an elementary school nearby, all of which gave us and our kids insight into what it is like living in Brooklyn, which is is much better than staying in a hotel.
Getting into the city was trivial, with a subway station a block away and the F-train taking you to all the major sites without having to change trains. It was so easy, that we spent one evening in the DUMBO neighborhood and had the kids ride the subway back by themselves.
The hosts are great and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We will definitely look to come back on our next trip.

We stayed for a week, and could not have been happier with our visit. The apartment is cozy and well stocked with all the basics, and a perfect size for our family (2 adults + toddler). It is in a prime Carroll Gardens location close to grocery stores and restaurants and very close to the F train - perfect location! Paul and Ewa were gracious hosts - easy to get ahold of and and responded quickly to our few questions. Could not recommend their apartment more, and we can’t wait to return!

We had a great time staying for 6 nights at Paul & Ewas unit - they helped us move in our gear for our 2 kids, and were wonderful hosts. The unit was beautiful and had everything we needed for a weeks stay with a 2 and 4 year old - including kids toys and books - and a fully stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and the entire unit was beautifully done. Would recommend to anyone - one block to the F to midtown Manhattan!

Thanks to Ewa and Paul we stayed in a stylish furnitured, though comfortable apartment, very clean and well looked after, the kitchen equipped as it were yours at home, the beds most comfortable.
The two bedrooms are really separated, the king-size is a real king size, and the little terrace in the garden offers an additional space.
We found Carroll Gardens a friendly neighbourhood with lots of good place for dining, convenient access to Metro and thereby to Manhatten.
Definitely, we would go there a second time.

Myself, husband and 10 year old son stayed here for 5 nights. The garden apartment is situated in a quiet leafy street, only a few minutes walk from the nearest subway. It is very well equipped, nice furniture, good bathroom with a great shower and best of all, the beds are extremely comfortable - very much needed after a full days sightseeing in New York!
Brooklyn is a more peaceful alternative to the bustle of Manhatten and has many great local restaurants - we found several excellent Thai restaurants, a great Bistro and there are many Italian restaurants as well. There are local supermarkets nearby as well and many independent shops.
The owners live upstairs, are very friendly and are happy to offer recommendations for local restaurants.
We had a fantastic stay here, would highly recommend the apartment and would definately rent it again, on our next return to New York City.

Great place and great hosts. Our family of three was perfectly comfortable. The extra touches like tea, coffee, filters, Shampoo, etc. made all the difference. Best VRBO we’ve rented in Brooklyn. We will definitely be coming back.

We rented this apartment for our 5-day stay in Brooklyn around a wedding. It is in a great location, the centre of Carroll Gardens with the underground, restaurants, shops, parks and a playground all within a stones throw. The apartment comfortably sleeps 4 adults (we also had our 1 year old with us). It was really well presented, spotlessly clean, modern decor, well equipped with everything one might need and more. From the living room, there is access to a back terrace with patio chairs to sip a glass of wine in the evening. Paul and Eva were super friendly and accomadating, they even sourced us a high chair and provided toys! Would highly recommend a stay.

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment is in an excellent neighborhood, on a quiet street with a subway station close, at end of block; many eating/food options close by on Smith St and Court St. Paul and Ewa had some good suggestions for a variety of tastes. We enjoyed the Smith Canteen, Savoias, Zaytoons, and The Chocolate Room. A great bagel place is three or four blocks from the apt. The apartment itself was above our expectations; very comfortable, clean and updated. (Better than the pictures!) We were traveling with our son and daughter-in-law. She had never been to New York and this was the perfect place to introduce her the city. It was easy travel to Manhatten and other Brooklyn destinations. We hope to be able to stay here again and have already recommended the apt to friends. Paul and Ewa were welcoming and available.

Wonderful apartment , it was even better then it's pictures. Very clean with eveything you woud need to make your stay comfortable. The owners Paul and his wife are very gracious, helpful, interesting to listen too and answer any questions we asked of them. They helped us get around town and getting into New York. Carrols Garden is a delightful neigborhood, very busy, lots of shops, markets and friendly people. We were given suggestion as to where to eat, and each place they sent us was great. In fact if you go to china town in New York, they know he best place to eat, the food was wonderful , clean, comforable and very friendly. I can't say enough as to how great are stay was and how kind and friendly the owners were. After being out all day sightseeing it was a joy to come back to this brownstone and relaxe. If we are ever out that way again we will stay here.

We genuinely enjoyed our stay in Carroll Gardens. Hosts Paul & Eva were delightful. When we arrived, they welcomed us warmly, and helped us in with our bags. The apartment was much more than we expected; beautifully appointed, very clean and organized, spacious, private, and included many extras we did not expect. Wonderful location, within easy walking distance of many restaurants, bodegas, coffee shops, and easy access via subway to all parts of NYC. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, roomy apartment close to the excitement of NYC. We hope to return!

This is Brooklyn's best kept secret! This lovely, quiet garden apartment in Brooklyn is truly outstanding. Newly renovated, spacious and a king sized bed that is like sleeping in a cloud and made my one at home seem terribly small! After having arrived from Sydney (Australia) after a 23 hour flight with 2 kids in tow, our hosts Paul and Ewa could not have been more welcoming and thoughtful. The apartment had everything we needed (even a salad spinner) , a generous supply of amenities and towels and quickly became our comfy Brooklyn "home".
Thank you Paul, Ewa and boys, we will be back soon! We wouldn't stay anywhere else in New York!!

I stayed at this beautifully renovated 2-bedroom apt last year and it was absolutely wonderful!! The location is great, it is on a beautiful street and the owners are all you could hope for--friendly, gracious and responsible. I highly recommend this apt. Perfect for a family with kids (the owners are very understanding of a little baby noise). A total find!

Our son and his family live in Brooklyn's Carroll Gardens, so we are frequent apartment renters in this area. This was our first stay at this lovely apartment. Upon our arrival we were met by the friendly and gracious owners. Their garden level apartment is attractively furnished in a "Pottery Barn" look. We loved the new stainless steel kitchen. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment, allowing some privacy if there are 4 people in your group. The apartment has everything you need for a perfect Brooklyn stay, including restaurant recommendations, travel guides for Manhattan and Brooklyn, and it is only one short block to the subway station. The owners are always available to answer any questions or assist you in any way they can. We will definitely rent again.

Paul and Ewa were excellent hosts. They met us when we arrived and had even picked up some groceries for us ahead of time. That was a very nice touch! The apartment was probably the cleanest place in which I have ever stayed. It looks exactly like the pictures--nicely decorated. The subway is just around the corner (the f & g trains), so the apartment is conveniently located. The neighborhood had some excellent restaurants, bakeries, boutiques. We went into Manhattan a few times, but we actually preferred the Brooklyn neighborhood. Everyone was so friendly! If we have an opportunity to go back, we hope to stay there again.

We booked this beautiful brownstone for our stay in NY over spring break. We wanted a location close to our child attending college in Brooklyn, and really didn't want to stay in a hotel! Everything about this apartment was wonderful. The layout, the furnishings, the location, and the owners and their boys. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, and will stay there again! You won't be disappointed.

Two of us stayed a week at Paul and Ewa's wonderful garden apartment. It is located on a quiet street in a bustling neighborhood near many interesting shops and restaurants and an easy walk to the subway. The rooms are spacious, modern and bright, the kitchen well designed and easy to use. Paul and Ewa were very helpful with any of our concerns and made us feel very comfortable. The location is close to the subway so that going into Manhattan or further into Brooklyn is easy to navigate.
We were delighted with our home-away from home and hope to return - it was hard to leave!
