Great house, great location! Needs TLC and maintenance. Bring your fishing poles and water toys for fun in the sun.

Our family has used this house three times . We always have a good time, and we love the rustic quality of this house for our large family. It provides everything we need for a great family vacation.

The WiFi was down most of the visit, but the beds were very comfortable and the view was beautiful.

The bunker beds are really nice. We also love the big fire pit, volleyball field.

The house itself isn’t bad, the kitchen and other areas could use so real updating but all in all the house was fine. The issue we had was with the cleanliness of the house. We were told it hadn’t been rented in quite some time and it really showed. From the dust on all surfaces, the dirt on the floors, the dust clumps (assuming from the dirty air filters) on the beds, the dishes that were left in the dishwasher, and the Christmas wine glass we found laying in the yard, we were very disappointed to have to buy cleaning supplies and spend the whole first evening cleaning and changing bed linens just to be able to stay there.
The downstairs bunk rooms were fine and the downstairs basement area was clean enough except for the floors and dusty surfaces.
The management company was responsive and sent some out to turn on the water and gas once we arrived.
Waiting on refund for cleaning fees that were paid when it clearly hadn’t been cleaned.

Plenty of sleeping arrangements with lots of space. Great backyard and dock right on the water.

The house was dirty with cobwebs everywhere but the worst part is they rented a house with no propane in the tank! So we had no heat, hot water and the stove didn’t work. The propane finally comes at midnight. The next nightmare occurs when we realize the house has a preexisting sewer problem as the mechanical room floor is covered in towels and the seer backs up and floods the basement where 8 of the beds are. The management is horrible and still hasn’t got back about a refund

We had so much fun staying at loggin off this week! We had our wedding party stay with us over our wedding week and had PLENTY of space for all 20 of us! The home is stunningly beautiful and you can not beat the views and ample amount of beds and space for the price!
The only few down sides we stumbled upon: upon arrival there were multiple cigarette butts found on the decks including a plastic bottle full of them.. the floor in the shower on the main floor has a beautiful rocky floor that is amazing to look at but VERY painful to step on.. one of the showers on the top floor would shut off in the middle of people showering.. the doors are very confusing and tricky to shut- I suggest having instructions over the knobs to avoid confusion and frustration.
Over all, we loved all of the amenities and our stay in Loggin off- thanks for having us!!

This is a beautiful home with fantastic views and space for many. For this caliber of home I would expect a little more attention to detail. Although the home was clean, the deck furniture was covered with cobwebs and there were umbrella stands but no umbrellas for additional shade. The beds were not very comfortable and took some getting used to. Linens are provided but, as noted in previous reviews, only one towel per bed (hand towel and washcloth as well). So bring your beach towels. There are plenty of dishes for your meals but they could use a few more pots for cooking up big meals. We were challenged trying to make spaghetti for 17. The bunk rooms are very nice and worked out well for our crew. The gym space is good but we were expecting the cardio equipment to work and it does not. We did replace batteries to the bike so it could be used but the stair climber is not operational. The Total Gym was nice to have, as well as the free weights. The bathrooms are lovely and we had no problems there. The yard is nice and the dock and boat house were one of the big reasons we chose this property. The boathouse was a mess and we ended up cleaning it up and organizing it-detail we feel should have been taken care of for the money we paid. Also, having an umbrella available for the top deck would have made that space more useable. That being said, it is a very nice space, nice dock, quality furniture and we had a lot of fun. We brought our boat and had no problems docking it there. There are kayaks and a SUP board and various inflatables available for use sot that was very nice. We had a great time and I would certainly recommend this home. I give it 4 stars because it is expensive and there is a significant service fee which I feel should show a little more attention to details. One more note, we traveled with my dad who has difficulty with stairs-you cannot enter this house on the main level without climbing 6 or 7 steps.

This is the second time we stayed at this property. It is perfect for our large family and we have a great time there. The negatives are that the person who was supposed to be the contact for check in and give us the code to the house did not return calls and text and we had a difficult time getting into the property. The other negative is that the home is not being very well maintained and there are some maintenance problems, rotting boards on the dock we had to cover to prevent falling , also slimy mold in the shower, and the shower leaked to floor below. My family love this property and have had great vacations here, it just needs some TLC.

Family and friends vacation with 13 people. A mix of teenagers, parents and grandparents.
Place is beautiful. Has much more than what they advertise.
I asked how many kayaks they have and they told me only 2, so we brought 2 extra with us. Actually has 4 kayaks on site. Also has a great extra living space above the garage which they don’t mention.
Amazing views, great boat house, used the volleyball court several times (bring your own rake to fix the sand though - we purchased one right down road).
We’ve stayed at several houses on Lake Anna, and this one was the best so far.

Great location but house is tired!
We had a wonderful weekend with our large family. The location and space in the house is great. Dock and pier were awesome. We rented a pontoon boat and that was perfect as well. We counted on the garage being available when we booked (as it is in the photos online) but then we’re told it was not so don’t count those beds!. A few details of interest if you are going to stay for longer than a weekend:
The water is brown and smells like metal. The water filter is filthy and needs changing. Bring bottled water for sure!
The kitchen desperately needs a good thorough cleaning and a reorganization of kitchen ware. It’s dirty and a total mess.
Many lightbulbs were out and the house is dark to begin with.
The beds and bedding are very low quality and really could use even the smallest upgrade. Our sheets had stains on them.
All in all it was fine for a weekend but if we had booked for a week I would have been very disappointed.

Awesome stay
Wouldn't have changed a thing about our stay. Perfect for a big group — where else are you going to find this many beds? Let alone full beds? Thanks for all the hospitality!

We had a great stay, the house has clearly been thoughtfully planned for a crowd of people and works quite well in that regard. It is just as beautiful as the pictures look.
All of the obvious surfaces and areas were beautifully clean (floors, furniture, kitchen counters, inside appliances, etc), though the inside of the kitchen cabinets was a different story. We took a little time when we first arrived to organize a bit and wipe out several of the cabinets that were especially grimy.
The kitchen layout is quite good, having 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers makes a huge difference when you have a large group cooking & eating together 3 meals a day (we had about 15 guests for a long weekend) and rarely had to wash a dish by hand.
It was fantastic to have the beds all made & with a set of towels laid out on each bed. It would be great if some additional towels were apparent - we had some folks with long hair who really need a 2nd towel to get fully dry. A few more dish towels in the kitchen would also have helped appreciably.
We had no issues with hot water or water pressure. HVAC kept things at a wonderful temperature the whole time.
Updates that are not fully reflected in the listing:
- the air hockey table pictured in the photos has been replaced with a ping pong table.
- the grills have been converted to natural gas so you don't ever need to worry about running out of propane.
Annoyances but not deal breakers:
- WiFi is great on the main floor, but struggles hard elsewhere, especially in the downstairs.
- The home is full of natural light during the day and becomes a terribly dark cave the moment the sun goes down. Even with all of the overhead fixtures on and all of the lamps on, we still found ourselves moving a lamp from the dining room to the living room and back as our group shifted activities because otherwise, it was too dark.
- The bunk beds are extremely comfortable. The upstairs beds, less so.
- Look carefully at the floor plan layout when deciding if this place will work for you. Several of the big beds are not in private rooms - there's one bedroom with 2 queens and the full is accessible only through the master suite on the main floor.
- The exhaust fan in the bedroom with 2 queen beds gets unbearably loud after its been on for more than a minute or so.
- The driveway is very poorly marked - we had multiple guests struggle to find the place. All other homes along this road have a mailbox with numbers on each side facing parallel to the road. This house has only a single artsy number display and it faces perpendicular to the road where it is impossible to see until you're on top of it. We eventually bought some balloons to tie to the sign to make it more visible during our stay.
- The kitchen gadgetry could really use an inventory, purge and revamp - the house seems to have bits and pieces to 5 different blenders but lacks a working can opener (the only can opener we could find was battery operated and the batteries were dead).
- None of the windows have screens, so you can't really open the place up to the outside without also inviting in bugs.
None of these issues were difficult to work around, so we never reached out to Vacasa Customer Service about any of them. I'm sure they would have been able to handle many of them (like the can opener).
We had a great stay, just highlighting stuff people may want to be aware of so that they can plan for it, or so that the owner can address them.

The home was spacious and immaculately clean. As other reviews mentioned the gas burners on the stove make a continuous weird clicking sound when on, but that's inconsequential.
Only issues we encountered were a tiny leak above one of the bunkbeds AND in a toilet stall in the bunk rooms....again, nothing that ruined our stay. And all the doors were very difficult to lock. Thankfully their costumer service representatives were easy to reach and sent a person right away to assist us with the problem.
Would definitely rent again!!

Perfect place for a quick weekend getaway. Just a group of high school friends who are busy with life doing our annual trip. Will be looking to book again during hotter weather since we didn’t get to use the lake.

Christmas 2021
First off - great customer service! Communication with Vacasa was great.
We appreciated the early check in - thank you.
Beautiful house and beautiful views.
The house was clean - surface clean. I do think the house needs a good deep clean.
The kitchen was very well stocked - I’ve never seen a rental house have so much kitchenware!! Everything and anything you need - and more!
All appliances in good working condition - bonus w/ two refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves and ovens!
When we booked the house, the upstairs garage was part of the property for use. When we checked in there was a property manager that gave us access to it, but the heat was not in working condition and we were unable to use that extra space during our stay.
As in previous reviews-
The main level master bath did leak into the bunk room below - turning the shower head all the way towards the shower wall seemed to resolve the issue.
The beds were comfortable but extremely noisy - unable to even move at all without a lot noise - sounded like they may break. One of the beds in the upstairs master did break - the slates fell out twice- again easily fixed but shouldn’t have to fix beds on vacation.
The shared bathroom upstairs has mold around the vent in the ceiling - should really be addressed. Also the sink barely drained in the same bathroom until my sister- in law actually cleaned it out - filled with a lot of hair and an artificial nail.
Overall - great Christmas with family!

Weekend with the boys
The house is truly amazing. So much space. Kitchen had everything you would need for most cooking. Fire pit with chairs and swings was perfect. Multiple refrigerators. Beds were super comfortable. Lots of parking.
This would have gotten a 5 star if the stove top wouldn't try to continuously ignite all 6 burners while one was lit. It was annoying. Also. The doors didn't lock on the exterior of the house. Plus the top level of the dock slip was covered with bugs. Still had a hell of a trip. Deff would go again.

Great house but needs a little attention to fixable items
We enjoyed the amenities that the place had to offer; boat dock, it was large enough to hold our group of 24 with the loft above the garage included (although not available moving forward from what I was told), private boat launch 1 house away was a huge plus, and location on the lake. As others have mentioned there are some significant items to look into before renting. First, the noise. The house is all wood and sound travels. With that said we had to manage our indoor activities accordingly. The hot tub was removed right before our visit and was not available for us to use (they did credit us the fee). The built-in microwave was not working at all but they had a smaller counter top model that fit our needs. The 2 refrigerators were a great necessity but one didn't keep as cold as the other. The gas cooking range still had the igniters going off and clicking for no apparent reason (which seems to be a known/common issue). Unfortunately, the fire alarms periodically went off for no reason our last 2 days there. Vacasa was quick to respond with a technician/handyman to address the few items we called about.
Overall, if not for these minor items (but not to be overlooked by future renters) this would be a 5 star house.
We spent the majority of our time outside at the boathouse decks, on the lake, at the fire pit swings (awesome!...just don't make too much noise at night), and playing volleyball so the inside issues were just a small part of the overall experience.

Great home
We loved the home…it was perfect for our family. The dock was huge and the volleyball court was awesome!! Beautiful fire pit with swings. The kitchen was absolutely my favorite room and the kids loved the bunk rooms too!

Such a shame
Firstly the positives - The property and house are beautiful, actually more beautiful than the pictures show. It's really such a shame that the management company is seemingly doing nothing to keep the house in proper working order. I'll try to be brief: We encountered multiple issues ranging from small annoyances (3 coffee makers none of which work - one has mold growing inside it, 4 slice toaster with only 2 working slots etc etc) to major safety concerns (major leak from the upstairs master bath down to the lower level and gas stove that was malfunctioning and possibly leaking gas). We only ever contacted Vacasa for the gas stove and it took a full day for someone to get back with us. When the tech finally came out, he told us this is a known issue raised by prior guests but never addressed (the outcome, by the way, was he cleaned the burners and left which didn't resolve it and still left half the stove non-functional). Oh and by the way - as some reviewers mentioned, the wifi here is non existent.
In full transparency - we received a credit from Vacasa for our trouble. But this was son's annual birthday trip and this stay was disappointing.

We enjoyed the great lake views, along with the private dock to swim, relax, etc. We would have given the house five stars, if not for the following issues we experienced:
-Beds: The beds upstairs are very uncomfortable. One of the beds broke (slates fell), while one of the families who joined us were sleeping on it. Sleep in the basement bunk beds, if you want any sleep.
-Hot Tub: We were told the hot tub was broken, and was out for repair, the day before we drove to Lake Anna. The weather was in the mid 60's, and we would have loved to have had a functional hot tub to use (one of the draws, of the property).
-Bathroom: One of the bathrooms upstairs was not working at all (where another family was staying in). It was not fixed or addressed during our stay either.
-Stove: The kitchen stove kept making a clicking sound, no matter which burner we used. It was an irritating sound, considering we cooked quite a bit while we were there. The sound stayed on constantly, while cooking.
-Wifi: The wifi is non existent. Do not expect much of a signal. It was nice not having wifi for the kids (so they could do non-tech activities, and be outside). But, do not expect to work remotely there, or have cell coverage.
-Etc: The Deck and dock could definitely use a power wash and cleaning. The top of the dock (which was a great view) was dirty, and not kept up.
The above are all issues, the owner can and should have addressed. It's inexcusable. For the money we paid to stay (our second time staying at this property too), these are all reasonable issues to address. We had a good time nonetheless, but would have enjoyed more had we not encountered the above.

Until next time!
We loved our time at Loggin' Off. There was plenty of seating inside and outside the house. The firepit was perfectly set up along with a volleyball court. The kitchen was well equipped. The dock and lake in the backyard made for around the clock relaxing and fun. A few things to note: If you are working or doing school remotely, it will be a little difficult as the wi-fi is not reliable and we had to use phones as hotspots. The house is a little loud, but for us we loved the rustic look and feel so the noise echo in some areas was not bothersome. We look forward to our next trip!

Perfect Getaway
House was conveniently located and the very accommodating. Had fun and it created just the right atmosphere for a place to stay during a pandemic.

Amazing view and beautiful house
I really recomend it. We had a great time. Great for big groups. Some appliances need an update and more light is needed in most of the room.

Spacious for a large family.
Property needs some improvement. Upgrade refrigerators, microwave, beds, hot tub, volleyball ball net, etc. If this property was properly maintained it would be the perfect house for a large family.

Great for large groups.
The house looks exactly like the pictures which is great. There was plenty of space for a group of 18 adults to spread out with everyone in beds and no issues with bathrooms. Be forewarned however that there is absolutely no soundproofing in this house and everything creaks. The beds, the doors, and especially the floors. There are also no curtains or blinds on the windows which allows for amazing views but makes it hard to sleep in. Lighting is also challenging in the living room and dining room. There is very poor cell service in the area and wifi didn't work so don't plan on trying to telework or anything online. We called maintenance bc the hot tub was severely leaking and other little issues. Took 3 calls before someone actually came and issue still wasn't fixed. We just kept having to put the hose in the hot tub to refill and wait a couple hours for it to get hot. Hopefully the hot tub, lighting, and wifi can be fixed/improved.

Lake Anna 2020
We had a great time the house is perfect for a large family, everyone enjoyed them selves . The only criticism is that there are not enough lights at night, and some windows need curtains for privacy . Otherwise an awesome house! We look forward to booking it again.

Great big house! Few issues
We rent via VRBO every year for our family of 20+. This is the first time we had Vacasa and was extremely unhappy with them!
Pros: Downstairs was perfect for the 12 kids 15-24 yrs old. 2 bunk bed bedrooms each with own bathroom. Above garage apt is huge but note NO bathroom. Window covering!! Hello! Kitchen with 2 fridges and dishwashers a plus. Dock and lake are awesome. We rented a boat for a few days. Food Lion, Dollar Store and the dump are very close by.
Cons: Long gravel hilly driveway. As you enter from the street it is side by side with the neighbors drive and in between is a drainage ditch you can’t see and NOT marked! My son hit it and has damage to his car! Large drainage ditches along the entire drive. If you are towing a lot of weight and don’t have AWD or a 4x4 you probably won’t make it back up the hill when you leave!!! Not fun!
We got to the house a half hour before check-in. The cleaners were still getting stuff out of there cars! At 4:00 they told us it would be another hour! Not what 21 people who just drove 14 hours to get there wanted to hear. Website said extra care cleaning because of COVID!! Ha! Definitely not! To top it off the WiFi is terrible! You have to be in the house to get a signal. Vacasa is terrible to reach! On hold for at least 15 minutes every time. Always the COVID excuse. I’m sorry but there should be a separate number for an actual person for those who are at the rental to report issues as they tell you to do immediately. Half of the power to upstairs was out the entire first night and the electrical box is behind a locked door. Many lights were burnt out and remote to ceiling fans are either missing or broke. Bring bottled water! We brought large Brita pitcher and the iron taste was still there. Your nails will turn orangish in the lake. Beds are extremely loud! It’s the frames not the mattresses. We had to spend a good hour to organize everything in the kitchen cabinets only to realize some things were missing . Don’t plan on using the stair master. The house and dock are covered in cobwebs and bees everywhere!! I doubt they have a service that sprays for bugs and cleans up the cobwebs! Thousands of spiders come out at night especially on the dock! All in all great house but Vacasa brings down my rating!!

Family vacation
Large house in a nice location.. waterfront was very good. For the size of the house it should have additional trash pickup during the week. Only 2 basic trash cans provided.

spectacular home that needs some TLC
This is a stunning and huge log cabin with absolutely gorgeous views of the lake. The yard, firepit, volleyball and dock are also amazing. Very close to the only grocery store in town. This home could use a handyman for a few days to fix things like shower heads, lights, exterior doors, and other annoyances. When you're paying close to $9K a week for a home like this, you expect everything to be pretty perfect. The hot tub wasn't filled and wasn't available for use...we were told the previous renters broke it. Overall it was a blast, and we've stayed many places and very few compare to this home. Internet isn't the best, and Verizon cell service seemed to be better than internet most days

Gorgeous log house on the lake!
The home was very clean and exactly as presented on the VaCasa website. The kitchen was stocked with everything one would need to cook all meals at home.

Great house! Great views
This house is gorgeous! The view is amazing, the dock and house are well equipped. The space in the main house and the room above the detached garage was wonderful. My only complaint is the mattresses were terrible in most of the beds. They were loud and creaky in the master and on the second floor. I had to sleep on the Murphy bed by the last night just for some peace and quiet- that mattress was much better. With such a gorgeous and expensive house, it would be money well spent to invest in decent mattresses. That is the only thing preventing me from going back.

House Wasn't Ready
Arrived to find out there was zero water. Waited on hold for 2 hours trying to call Vacasa. Thankfully the man who was working on the unfinished patio and firepit arrived to apologize for not having it complete, he was able to assist with getting water turned on. We still never got a hold of of vacasa. The bathrooms were dirt, the entire house was dusty and full of spiderweb. The dock has huge wasps nests and is covered in dirt and hasn't been cleaned it since last season. The hammocks under the deck are green and dirty as well. Thankfully the firepit and patio were complete by the last night so we could have a fire on our last night there. Vacasa wouldn't answer their phones or email and kept us on hold the entire weekend. Problems were never resolved in the slightest.
