Hacienda Sonadora was beautiful! Trent was very responsive and set us up with the caretaker Luis. Luis was fantastic at his job helping us book transport, activities, excursions and food catering. He met us at the house at check in and made sure everything was good and kept in touch when we needed him. We had 12 adults and 11 kids (from teens to toddlers) and there was something for everyone! Luis helped us set up fishing, ATV tour, lunch reservations, catering with Adriana, massages, and horseback riding. All excursions showed up right outside the front door or on our beach front. With so many kids in our group, it was nice having direct access to the beach so it was easy to keep an eye on everyone. There was staff every day to either clean the pool, take out the trash, set up beach chairs, umbrellas, paddle boards and kayaks. All the hard work was done for us so all we had to do was sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scene. Even at the peak of summertime travel, we were the only ones on the beach. It was like having a private beachfront (with the occasional cows walking by which all the kids loved watching). There’s so much I can say to boast about this place. Everyone had an amazing time!

A group of 19 friends traveled together for a getaway from work and we had an absolute blast. There was so much to do just at the house and we didn’t even get to do everything after a 5 day stay. The restaurant that we catered dinner from was delicious and the house was beautiful. The pool and beach were amazing and we can’t wait to come back again.

Beautiful home, excellent restaurant La Hornilla and a small but excellent breakfast & lunch place (La Dona) located just outside the property. Lots to do -- kayaking, paddle boarding, ocean swimming -- just steps from the back patio. Concierge Luis was friendly and very helpful.

The house was amazing - as beautiful and spacious as it looks in the pictures! The beach was great and almost totally private. Luis (the caretaker) was great - always checking in to help with whatever we needed. The local dining places were delicious and all the people we met were super friendly and helpful. We also had some delicious catered meals from Adrianas. Luis arranged for some massages at the house, which were so lovely that we actually had them come back later on in our trip. He also arranged a bonfire on the beach for our last night, and then went above and beyond by helping with roadside assistance when we got a flat tire on our way back home. We really enjoyed the kayaks AB’s paddle boards that were available at the house and really appreciated the filtered water and ice they had. We definitely hope to return soon.

Awesome Adventures!
Perfect getaway for 4 families with teens, college kids, plus grown children and baby! Isolation from the normal Cabo crowds. Beautiful, clean, spacious and well furnished property adjacent to beautiful ocean. Wonderful food at LaDona (walkable for breakfasts and lunches), catering by Adrianna (even a birthday cake!), dinners at some of the restaurants in El Cardonal (just a little bit down the road), local convenience stores in town, late night hot dog and taco stands--never were we hungry! Kayaks, paddle boards, towels, beach chairs & umbrellas--all there! Great walks on the beach too. Louis arranged ATVs for us to take on an adventure to the waterfall with lunch in Los Barrilles (much easier, shorter, and faster than driving the winding road!)!! I think the next time I would arrange a shuttle to the house to drop everyone off and rent ATVs for the week to get around! Everyone had something to do! Plenty of sun and shade if needed. This property is very accommodating for a variety of groups and ages. Highly recommend! The people in town were all very friendly as well. A great dream vacation with sunrises and sunsets! Even the whales gave us quite the show as they breeched and whacked the water with their tails as they fed! Can you tell we had fun??? Can't wait to go back.

Best place to stay at in Mexico!
This house did not disappoint! It was the perfect location for our extended family trip this year. The property is spacious and we felt comfortable even with our large party sharing the house and guest house. We felt safe with the home and its location being outside of mainstream Cabo. Trent and Luis were very response to all of my questions before and during the trip. We booked the mariachi band and piñata party for the kids and it was amazing! We loved the trip so much and would happily go back to this listing in the future.
The one thing I would point out that if you go in the off season like we did (January) the pool was cold since the sun didn't really have the strength to heat it. Our kids didn't seem to mind it, but if you really want to utilize the pool go when the weather is hotter.

Delayed 75th birthday party fabulous!
Seventeen friends and family from 3 generations gathered in perfectly safe isolation for a week in this fantastic hacienda. There was room and varied spaces for all to gather, subsets to play board and video games, read quietly, color and play trucks, and just hang out. The open roof was a particular favorite for the 3 year old to survey the beach and water and delight in the world championship of pool cornhole his elders were playing below. People snorkeled, kayaked, tried hilariously to paddle board, but mostly swam in the gentle surf. We decided to cater the evening meals, and were glad we did. Excellent, local, fresh food was delivered nightly and many times there were enough leftovers for many breakfasts and lunches the next day. Luis, our friendly and helpful support, also arranged for a half day fishing trip for 4. They had a great time and brought home enough yellow tail tuna for sashimi and seared tuna plus mahi mahi for civiche. We all had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend this place for a gathering. We hadn't quite realized long a drive from ATMs the place was, so had to make the trek for cash for our Covid tests. Everyone takes US dollars as well as pesos, so I would recommend bringing enough cash for all your adventures and treats.

The house was everything I hoped and then some. It is a new house, no issues with any of the appliances. Huge pool and the view is incredible, weather it is sunrise or sunset...simply amazing.

ABSOLUTE HEAVEN!
This is what Mexico is supposed to be like! Cabo is like cheap Vegas but thus home is on a private beach in a great little village. Old Mexico charm with everything you could possibly want! Few wonderful restaurants and local bar. The owners arranged a private chef which was super tasty. We fished, rented dune buggies and even set up a private fireworks show. Oh did I mention horse back riding on the beach!
We loved everything about our trip except leaving. House is spectacular...zero complaints!

WOW! Amazing property
We were blown away by how nice the home was.
The white sand beach on a private bay in the Sea of Cortez and the fabulous pool and house made this a perfect getaway.
The caretaker went above and beyond to take care of us. We catered in Dinners every night and just enjoyed the house as a destination. The kids played on the beach all day, went fishing and the caretaker took them on a guided horseback ride one day, while the adults rented ATV's and spent the day exploring the arroyos up into the mountains and the natural waterfalls.
It was a great escape and getaway from City life in the US.
We will definitely be back!
My only regret- we didn't stay longer.

Paradise Found at Hacienda Sonadora
We, 3 adult children plus spouses, 2 sets of great grandparents, and 10 children (1-14 yrs) had a blissful, relaxing, incredible stay at Hacienda Sonadora. The home is equipped very nicely to accommodate a large group AND, especially, to give everyone space when needed. The beach is lovely, the pool is beautiful, and the "toys" ie paddleboards and kayaks were put to much use and so much fun! The caretaker was very attentive to our needs and requests. We LOVED the feeling of solitude and purposefully did not seek the crowds, noise, and hectic flurry of commercialized Cabo San Lucas.

Perfect vacation
We had an incredible stay at Hacienda Sonadora! The property is absolutely ideal for large groups, and we really enjoyed getting to know the area. The locals are super friendly and the caretaker, Luis, made sure that all our needs were met. We got most of our groceries from Los Barriles, but the local shops are well stocked, and we enjoyed taking the kids for short walks to pick up candy at the nearby store. The small taco stand (La Dona) at the end of the driveway was excellent, and we ate there several times. We also tried La Hornilla and Las Terrazas, and they were both great.
Overall, I don’t think our trip could have gone any better. This property is fabulous, and with the sliding doors fully open, you hardly notice the indoor/outdoor transition. It just feels like one giant living space. Highly recommended!

The Caretaker made our stay extra special.
We had massages by the pool, went on an ATV excursion and just enjoyed sitting by the pool staring into the Ocean for hours on end. We had a chef prepare dinners and the food wags exquisite, and the little restaurant up the street was good too.
We felt, and were, completely safe in the wonderful community. We are definitely coming back!

Private Paradise!
What a delight! This property is gorgeous, private, safe, and truly perfect for our large group of 23! We celebrated our parents 50th anniversary with 10 adults and 13 youth/children at Hacienda Sonodora and the atmosphere here was key for helping us unplug and create numerous memories. The children (ages 5-16) played endlessly in the sand, ocean, and pool. When they were tired out or cold, they played hours of games up on the sun deck of the roof or made several trips to one of many small tiendas. Time seemed to stand still!
The local families around Hacienda Sonodora were gracious, kind and helpful and the property manager, Luis, was well connected and resourceful. Long walks on the beach, horseback riding, and fishing were favorites among our group. Luis connected us with Betto and his family at Cuadra San Alberto Horse Rides. Betto went out of his way to accommodate our large group and he even made a special trip back the next day. The fishing expeditions were also great for young and old and we happily welcomed the fresh fish to our table for the next several meals. With a group this size, most meals were cooked right on property and the kitchen is excellent! Beautiful modern appliances make cooking a dream. When we needed a break from cooking, Luis connected us with Adriana who provided us with a wonderful, authentic Mexican breakfast and dinner.
The drive north is straight forward, but an adventure in and of itself. Our van full of boys thought this was the most fun ride they’d ever taken. Over the hills and through the mountains to El Cardonel we go! The location is remote, so once there, we really had no desire to go elsewhere. Everything we needed was right there on property. If we had any needs or concerns, the property owner, Trent, responded immediately and graciously and the property manager, Luis, checked in daily.
I’m not sure my parent’s will make it another 50 years, but I am already looking for another good excuse to come back with our family. Trent and family, thanks for an amazing, one of a kind, dream vacation!

Beyond our expectations
We had an amazing experience at Hacienda Sonadora. We loved the quiet beach and more remote location of the house, which is removed from the busy tourist attractions.
The owner and property manager were incredibly informative and attentive and set us up to know exactly what to expect. We arranged a company trip for 16 people and each person Was set up for comfort and privacy. We were especially impressed by the well appointed kitchen (we cooked the majority of our meals) and the attention to detail with beach towels and cozy blankets.
At one point during our visit a member of our group fell ill and needed a doctor.Luis, the house manager found a wonderful doctor who was able to provide relief. This attention went well beyond what we could have hoped for. We are checking our calendar now to see when we can return for another visit.

AMAZING! True Mexico Rediscovered!!!
Its hard to truly put into this review just how special our stay was! So many many things we loved. First we were so burned out with Cabo the "Vegas of Mexico" and how Mexico has lost its specialness...well we found it here! The house is BEAUTIFUL.. Brand new, spotless and on a beautiful beach. The manager made all arrangements for our arrival and was there to grant our every wish. S'mores basket for the kids and a special Margarita basket of fun for the adults upon arrival. We had a chef brought in which was easy and the food was amazing. Snorkeling, horseback riding, fireworks, and THE FISHING!! Marlin, Tuna, Darado etc..all right out front! Little local restaurants and a bar were really fun. It was so nice to have a trip to Mexico that we actually came home rested and ready to return! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

WOW! AMAZING HOME
Amazing property! Exceptional Location!
This house exceeded our expectations. The home itself is amazing. The Great room is huge and the Cupolas in the ceilings are a work of art. All the bedrooms are large and inviting. We had dinner catered on the patio one evening- the food was great, and the backdrop is almost unbelievable!
This was the most fantastic vacation imaginable. Location, Location, Location. We were told by friends about the area and decided to make a list minute trip. It is on a private white sand beach nowhere near any time shares or high rise hotels.
This location was by far the most relaxing place we have ever been, and we felt completely safe. We loved using the paddle boards, kayaks, and swimming in the Ocean.
Luis made our entire experience extra enjoyable- he suggested a fishing/snorkel trip. We caught a Marlin and 3 dorado right in front of the house, then snorkeled the 2nd half of the day. He took care of getting us to and from the airport, and had dinner and drinks awaiting for us when we arrived. You must have Adriana cook you a Mexican Fiesta meal!
My favorite things- Sitting in the hand carved patio rocking chairs overlooking the Sea of Cortez is addictive, but going on the roof top deck at night to see the stars is even better.
We are definitely coming back. Looking forward to throwing a pool party and fully utilizing the swim up Palapa Bar.

Wonderful Winter Break
Pure Paradise. We escaped winter in Idaho for a family gathering and can truly say this was the best idea we ever had. We were a little unsure what to expect when we arrived at the airport, but the taxi service dropped us off right at the front gates and we were soon met by the caretaker who welcomed us to this beautiful destination. We had a truly relaxing vacation in paradise. The weather was great, the accommodations were fantastic, and the location was pure paradise. We will definitely plan on a return visit.

OUTSTANDING VACATION!
I would like to extend a thank you for helping us with this family vacation. We really wanted to get away from it all and enjoy a piece of paradise and this house provided a very unique setting in which to do so.
From the glorious sunrises, walks on the beach, afternoons by the pool, evenings having cocktails on the patio, preparing dinners in an amazing kitchen, and spacious comfortable bedrooms with air conditioning this place seems to have all the bases covered. Luis was fabulous at helping make our stay as good as it could be. We had 12 family members and this is a trip that will not be forgotten. We hope to be back next year for another great time.
PS- the beach in front of the house is an outstanding place to let the kids have fun for hours while you sit by the pool and relax.

A Family Christmas on paper plates
The house and grounds are as shown. It is a beautiful setting. The problem(s) we had were do to neglected maintenance. The dishwasher took anywhere from 5 to 7 hours to go through a cycle. The manager was well aware of it but apparently the owner did not want to spend the money. He also did not want to fix the sink and garbage disposal unit. We found a 16 penny nail and two pop tops in the disposal unit. The manager shook his head and gave us a lot of stories about the previous renter. A man whom came to look at it told us that - an this was without looking at it - there was also a leak in the pipe so you could not use the sink either. He apparently had looked at it before. Various lights were out throughout the house - about 10 to 12 - which is a lot. We got some of them replaced but not all. The pool lights did not work because of a broken underground cable. The owner told us he was very sorry for the problems, but that was all he did. We had 17 people and no way to really do dishes, so we used paper plates for 10 days. It is a nice place. A long way from anywhere over bad roads, but you kind of know that before you rent by reading the other reviews.

Awesome!
We had three families with kids aged 14 through 19 all spend a week at Bahia Sonadora in early January. You always hope that when you book a trip like this that the destination lives up to the hype. In this case, it was better!! We loved the home, very spacious for 14 adults/teenagers. The beach was extremely private and the local surroundings had something for everyone. We had a fantastic deep sea fishing experience, went on wonderful four wheel driving excursions, horse back riding and long peaceful walks. Family members also stayed pool side, read books, enjoyed the weather and just relaxed. Luis was a wonderful caretaker and took care of all our needs. Los Barriles was a 30 minute drive through the mountains but had a fully stocked grocery store, bank, medical clinic and great restaurants. And the local town of El Cardonal had a small grocery store which was very convenient. All is all this was the most relaxing vacation and one we would all love to do again! PS - Trent was great to work with!

A Little Piece of Paradise
What an amazing place!
We have traveled to Mexico quite a bit and stayed at a variety of hotels, resorts and haciendas in little fishing towns. This by far is our favorite place.
We spent the week truly enjoying the amenities. The views are spectacular and Luis, the caretaker, was so helpful doing everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. He can arrange for anything you want including fishing trips, ATV rides, a trip to a hidden resort to have lunch and let the kids swim and can even bring in his family to cook an authentic Mexican meal. There are also lots of pool toys, kayaks and paddle boards to keep everyone busy as well. Our favorite thing to do was cook and eat overlooking the ocean and take walks looking for seashells and coral. As the week progressed, we were able to run to one of the local tiendas to get a few things such as homemade tortillas, avocados, tomatoes and of course replenish our Pacifico supply!
We had 6 adults and 6 kids 5-8 years old with us, but this home is suitable for any age! It’s truly a piece of heaven once you get settled and start enjoying your time. The locals, and American home owners in this cove are very friendly.
If you want to relax and enjoy the beach in seclusion without any hustle and bustle – this is place is a must!

Great Home
Bahia Sonadora is a great home in a wonderful, quiet and safe location. The home's features were exactly as described in the listing - spacious, beautiful pool, private beach and well maintained. The location, north of Los Barriles, seemed a bit remote at first, but quickly became a real plus for a relaxing vacation with snorkeling, sea kayaking and fun on the beach. The home opens up to beautiful poolside patios where you can watch the sun come up in the morning and hear the ocean. Driving to the home is easy via a paved road thru the desert or a good, safe dirt road along the coastline past Punta Pescadero which is a beautiful drive. The fishing is good and the whale watching was great. Luis the caretaker was very friendly and helpful with everything - arranging fishing, an authentic dinner at the house (a must), providing sea kayaks, etc. And his restaurant in El Cardonal, Tacoriendo, which is very close to the home, was outstanding. The owner was very helpful and good to work with in all respects. This is a great family home and a very special place.

Fantastic Once in a Lifetime Trip
My husband and family surprised me by organizing this trip as a fortieth birthday present.
We brought many family and friends over the 10 days we stayed. Luis was fantastic and helped arrange cars and drivers to bring guests to and from the airport. The home was immaculate and gorgeous - we felt completely spoiled in a 5 star resort. Luis helped with boat trips to restaurants and deep snorkeling, and we loved walking into town to pick up small groceries and meet the locals.
We had a diverse group with children as young as 10 months and grandparents too. the pool was perfect for kids, safe and clean. we watched horses comedown to the beach for rolling in the sea, and dogs herded goats and cows down nearby to cool off at the waters edge.
The swim up bar was a huge plus for us, and the whole patio area was a perfect adult birthday party venue once the kids went to sleep ;)
It was a little more remote than originally thought, with the last road over from Los Barriles being a slower one, but we quickly realized we had absolutely no reason to leave at all! We welcomed the privacy, making communal meals and spending seriously quality time together. Luis and his family made sure we were well taken care of. There were a lot of moms on the trip so we didn't opt for housekeeping but we did get the most amazing meal cooked for us in the kitchen and ate leftovers for days! We had truly a magical and unforgettable experience here, my 3 year old still calls it 'the special beach' and we look forward to next time.

I feel like a bit of a follower adding ANOTHER 5-star "excellent" review... but I have to agree with the other reviewers... this was a spectacular property and a 5-star experience.
The property: The pictures don't really do it justice. The house is truly a luxury home with luxury amenities and fixtures. Aside from an occasional locked closet, it doesn't feel like a rental property at all.The great room plus bedrooms layout of the house makes it comfortable and homey for 4-6 people just as easily as it does 12 - 14.
The location: Again the pictures don't do it justice. This beautiful sandy cove and warm calm water is my idea of a slice of heaven. There are other houses around but they don't intrude on your experience. You are off the beaten path (little to no cell phone reception but house has pretty good internet connection), so if you are looking for nightlife or a city tourist experience this may not be the property for you. There is a little town nearby (really a local village with a grocery store and a few rustic restaurants with amazing tacos). Los Barilles proper is 35-40 minutes away. It's a scenic drive though.
Service: It really depends how you want to do it, but I recommend you take their suggestion to hire their local caretaker to cook, bartend, and clean for you. It really completes the private resort feeling and they are very nice people.
Recreation: You are next to Los Barilles so the fishing is world class. They'll setup a charter for you that can pick you up right at the house (if you don't mind wading in waist deep water). We caught dinner multiple times within site of the house. On my second trip I was pleasantly surprised at the local snorkeling opportunities. The kids loved running around and playing on the beach in front of the house. This is also a famous kite surfing area but I don't know much about that.
Bottom line is I can't wait to go back.

Trip of a Life Time
This is one of my favorite places on earth. Been to this house twice once with kids once with adults. The accommodations are seconded to none. The house is decorated beautifully with high end appliances and a bathroom and shower in every room. My favorite part of the place is the patio and pool, when we weren’t fishing we were drinking beer and eating fresh made salsa and guacamole in the pool. The care taker is amazing he took care of our every need from fishing, kayaks, and a boat ride to a beautiful restaurant with amazing snorkeling. The house isn’t located near much but it’s quiet and peaceful. I will be back again next year. Thanks Trent for providing and maintaining such an outstanding vacation rental.

My family had a great vacation experience at this house. The view and scenery being right on the beach is as good as it gets. This place is located near some of the best fishing in the world so we had a lot of fun renting a fishing charter then bringing our catch back to bbq by the pool. The house was very clean when we arrived and we intend to rent this property again.

Amazing East Cape Serenity from Beachfront Private Estate
This place is amazing inside and out. It has everything you could want in a private baja beach vacation. The house is beautiful and well constructed with all the high end appliances you would love in the USA (viking range, dual stainless steel fridge / freezer, bbq, internet, flat screens etc.). The place is huge and can accomodate 12 no problem. The view from the living room and the patio / pool is second to none. The horizon line from the pool is the whole sea of cortez, The white sandy beach is private and breathtaking---i have rarely ever seen someone else on the whole cove beach. The caretakers are very helpful and the fishing is the best in the world right out your door. If you are looking for peace and natural environment (not the hustle and bustle of crowds, tourists and restaurants/bars/clubs of cabo) this is your place. It takes a little bit to get to from the airport but sooo worth it once you walk in the front door and experience the beautiful landscaping throughout the beachfront luxurious property. There are 2 great taco stands in town and a couple tiendas. That is it!

Just as advertised -- excellent
My wife and I hosted our wedding party and wedding at Trent's house in April 2010, and aside from some wind everything was perfect. The house drew rave reviews in all aspects. Amazing kitchen. Great bedrooms. Excellent location and beaches. We loved it. The only thing that would have made it better would be a heated pool.
I would recommend this home to anyone. You won't regret it!
