About this house rental

The house has three spacious rooms, two with a queen bed and one with four single bunk beds. There is fourth room that is in the sleepout next to the garage, this has two single bunk beds and a double futon bed, which makes it perfect for a large group. Clean linen is provided, which includes towels.

There is an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area which opens up onto the deck. The house retains its heat well and is warm when heated. The passage has a heatpump/airconditioner which heats most of the house and there is an installed gas heater in the lounge/kitchen area which provides instant heat (no need to light fires and wait for it to get warm). Oil heaters, electric blankets and extra blankets are available for extra warmth!

The hot water is heated by gas so you will not run out of hot showers. The bathroom is spacious with a toilet and a large amazing shower. There is an extra toilet in the laundry (making it 1.5 bathrooms).

The outdoor furniture is on the deck next to the BBQ, in the beautiful peaceful fully-fenced back garden and has a recently installed shade cloth to provide much needed shade in summer.

There is plenty to keep you and your kids entertained, a PlayStation II with various games for young and old, a separate TV and DVD player with numerous DVD's, books, kids toys, a ride-on bike, games, puzzles, balls, tennis rackets, soccer nets, various size older bikes with helmets, a basket ball hoop and a trampoline (with no safety net). There is a large flat screen smart TV with freeview in the lounge and a satellite dish is available if you want to bring your own sky decoder.

There is plenty of off-street parking available inside closed gates, with enough space to store a boat or trailer and a few cars. The long drive-way is a double lane so is easily accessible, yet off the main road.

Cleanliness is important to us, as you can see from our reviews, however during this COVID time we are taking extra care with cleaning and disinfecting. Cleaning products are available for guests to use during their stay, so they have peace of mind. We are also regularly decluttering and spring-cleaning the house, making sure everything is clean. Guests are welcome to bring their own linen and bedding.

All guest interaction is contactless, keys are kept in a lockbox for easy access and self-check-in. We are also very flexible with cancellations during this time.

This has been a home away from home for us during our road trip around south island in June. The house is well equipped for all of our needs and much more! Using the bikes to cycle around the neighbourhood marked our first experience cycling in winter! :)

Had everything we needed for our stay. Walkable to stores and a few restaurants in town. Easy day trip to Mount Cook area. House was clean, comfortable bed, outdoor deck and furniture.

We had a great time in this lovely holiday bach. We chose it due to its proximity to Aoraki Mount Cook where we did some day hikes and because it looked so cosy and other guests had mentioned how well set up for families and clean it was. We loved playing the board games at night and we used the bikes for a lovely ride along the river. It was very clean and well looked after and we hope to visit again in the near future. Great communication with the host - - we felt well looked after even before checking in. We all loved our stay!

Stayed two nights with a family of 8. The weather was fine so we cooked and ate outside...good BBQ and lounge area outside. The inside lounge/kitchen area was small for the size of our group. Most things in the kitchen and pantry, but overall a well appointed property in a handy location.

This was a great place to stay and we loved the back deck and barbecue. Very central, close to the shops and with a lovely back garden. It was fun to have the bikes to ride around town and it was a convenient base for exploring the Mt Cook National park. The house was very clean and had everything we needed.

We stayed here as a large family group and we’re all pleasantly surprised at how well done this holiday home was. Everything you could want was supplied, it was clean and tidy and so well set up. Beds were comfy and the shower was amazing. Very clean and tidy, plenty of off street parking. Would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Twizel

My wife and I really enjoyed staying at this house. The pictures are accurate and the house is very clean and tidy. Communications with the owner were excellent too. We really appreciated the abundance of pots/pans/dishes and pantry items. The large shower is really nice and works great. We used this house as a base from which to visit Mt. Cook and as a halfway spot between Christchurch and Queenstown, which was our next stop. This area is really nice and the scenery is beautiful. Wish we'd allotted more time to staying here. Would happily return again in the future.
