Shrubbery Mews 5 is an outstanding apartment that is impeccably maintained. The property, located above the White Room in Kenmare, is in the heart of downtown and walkable to everything one might need when visiting. The apartment is new, modern, and well-appointed. Sarah has gone above and beyond in her efforts to create a warm, inviting place for guests to relax and unwind. The little details, including locally made chocolates, toiletries, and wine were waiting for us at check-in. What a delight! The queen beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, the towels and linens were quality, and the furniture was stylish and comfy (including the patio furniture). We appreciated the use of the washer and dryer on the premises; it is so nice to wash clothes during travel. Our family also took advantage of the well stocked kitchen to eat in for two nights of our stay. In addition, guests may also receive a discount in Sarah's shop, which we took advantage of when purchasing the diffuser scents Sarah used within the apartment! Having a designated parking spot in the rear of the shop is a relief, as street parking can be tricky with so many tourists and visitors to Kenmare. There is so much to love about Kenmare and we felt lucky to have found Shrubbery Mews 5 for our visit. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in this excellent apartment, which was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. Situated in the centre of Kenmare with easy access to the attractions of the town. Kenmare itself is a very attractive town, with many artisanal shops and many quality restaurants. A bonus was the secure parking provided by the owners. The countryside around is breathtaking with lovely seascapes and mountain scenery. We would highly recommend this property.

The apartment itself was a pleasure and a great location for beating around Kenmare and exploring the country side.

The apartment is lovely and very comfortable. Plenty of space, clean and well laid out. Sarah and team left a nice bottle of wine and a welcome gift - a nice touch.
There are stairs so you'll need to be able to climb them to get into apartment, but they are wide and easy to climb.
Close to everything in town and very walkable. Overall, I'd highly recommend!

We stayed in this darling apartment for 3 nights as we toured the island. The location is perfect and Kenmare is a great little town. We enjoyed the restaurants and coffee shops in the area. The accommodations were perfect for our group of 4 and we would definitely stay here again.

Overall, very good. Although the location is on the high street, it was quiet. Parking is very good, secure and easy to access. Host very friendly and the bottle of wine was a nice touch. Beds are not super king, although there is room in the bedrooms, but were comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it seemed to be well equipped.
Suggestions for future guests
Put dressing tables in the bedroom. There was no socket near a mirror which made drying your hair difficult. Nowhere to sit and dry your hair or put on makeup.
A magnifying mirror is a good idea.

Beautiful furnished apartment with everything you would need, with private car parking at the rear.
Kenmare is a beautiful village with lots of pubs and restaurants and you are just a walk away.
To explore further you couldn't be in a better position.
Finally, we received a warm welcome from Tracey and we knew if we had any problems she was close by.
Hopefully one day we will return.
Paul and Joyce.

I am so happy that I decided on the Shrubbery Mews apartment for my four-week stay in Kenmare in Sep-Oct 2022. It is well-deserving of its 5-star reviews, checking all of my boxes and more. The location was perfect: a spacious 2 bedroom unit with 2 1/2 bathrooms, situated above a high end linen/home decor shop on Henry Street, with access included to gated, private parking immediately behind the building, located in the centre of the beautiful, safe, tidy, walkable, laid-back, charming heritage town of Kenmare. The apartment is no more than a 2 to 5 minute walk to a number of excellent restaurants/pubs/cafes, music, shops, and services. While one side of this apartment faces Henry Street (one of the town's three main streets), we did not experience any issue with street noise at night or otherwise.
The area immediately surrounding (and within short walking distance of) the main part of Kenmare town offers lush, scenic greenery, parks (including lovely Reenagross Park), trails (including some of the Kerry Way), and the beautiful Kenmare Bay (with a nice pier area with public benches). Renting here, I had all the conveniences of residing in town while at the same time having an ideal launching pad for day trips to the Rings of Beara, Kerry, and Dingle (this part of the Wild Atlantic Way is without a doubt one of the most strikingly beautiful regions of Ireland), along with easy access to other areas like Killarney and County Cork.
The apartment itself more than exceeded my high expectations (the website photos are very accurate). The 2 bedrooms are upstairs; one is en-suite and the other has a very nearby bathroom, all with lovely decor and thoughtful touches. There is also a very nice half bathroom on the main floor (toilet and sink), ideal for when I had visitors. The apartment is immaculately clean and well-maintained throughout. The furniture and decor are a mix of modern & traditional -- warm, tasteful, and comfortable. All the appliances in the large kitchen worked well, as did everything in the rest of the apartment including the wifi, heat, water pressure, etc. The outdoor roof patio off the living room entrance was an added bonus.
Sarah and her team including Tracey are the consummate hosts, highly responsive and very professional, friendly, and accommodating. I plan to rebook this apartment for when I return to the area in 2023.

In 2 1/2 weeks in England & Ireland, this was our best lodging. Hosts had anticipated all needs and provided more amenities than we expected. We can’t wait to return.

This apartment is truly one of the best we’ve stayed in. It was perfectly sized for a group of 4 and such a wonderful change from the hotels we had been staying in. 2 1/2 bathrooms in an apartment is not common, and it was great to have one on the main level. The location is so wonderful, right in the heart of Kenmare. We definitely would choose this accommodation again.

This property was exactly as described in text and photos - really lovely. Kenmare is a very friendly town and a perfect location from which to explore this part of Ireland. Day trips followed by excellent dining nearby and an evening drink on the back patio. All very well appointed, clean and quite comfortable. The hosts were extremely helpful and the reservation process easy. Would love to return sometime.

We arrived to a young friendly face who gave us all the instructions needed. She also made reservations for are 1st dinner in town. We loved the apt !! It was close to all our travel destinations. Thank you Sarah and Tracey.

Comfy commercialism
This apartment is decorated fabulously, with great style, and is centrally located above a shop in Kenmare. My negative comment would be this: the hostess seems to place commerce over consideration:
I’ve never stayed at an Irish VRBO, particularly at this price lint, where breakfast wasn’t provided. The kitchen was bare save some tea bags and coffee pods.
It was also very unpalatable to see price tags on items within the apartment with signs indicating the item is for sale in the shop below. Even the d toilet paper dispenser had a price tag hanging off it.
We booked a stay in an Irish home for comfort, not commerce. There were missed opportunities to make our stay a little more comfortable and personal.
We appreciated the slippers at the door and the bottle of wine.

Fantastic apartment
We had a lovely, relaxing break in this gorgeous apartment. Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, we felt very much at home from the start of our visit. Sarah and her team were so welcoming and Kenmare was a great town to base ourselves in. We would highly recommend and look forward to a return visit! Many thanks.

The while experience from start to finish was amazing. We booked the apartment for a week and enjoyed every moment. The owner Sarah and her staff were very helpful and provided us with information on the locality and resturants and cafes to visit. The quality and decor of the apartment was very high.

This rental was beyond amazing. Sarah, the owner is so responsive and when meeting her in person just a lovely person with a wealth of suggestions from food to places to see. We followed all of them and were not disappointed. The apartment is gorgeously decorated and has everything amenity needed for a very comfortable stay. Apartment is large and has a nice terrace. It is right in town so after traveling all day you can park your car and walk to many pubs and restaurants. Despite being in the heart of the town apartment is very quiet. We loved Kenmare, locals are so friendly, food is amazing and it is centrally located to explore Southern Ireland.

My husband, teenage boys and I recently stayed in Sarah’s apartment for three nights. We couldn’t decide which city or town along the Wild Atlantic Way to use as a home base, so I researched all different towns to see where I could find a really nice place to stay. I stopped looking once I found Sarah’s apt and we planned four days around staying in Kenmare. It worked out perfectly. The apartment looks new; it is very clean and nicely decorated. The two bedrooms afforded plenty of space and each has its own full bath. The kitchen is a very good size and has windows that look out over Henry Street, the Main Street in Kenmare. The kitchen has all of the basics; we had a nice breakfast each morning and made dinner there 2/3 nights. The apartment is over a lovely linen shop and the woman working there (I believe it was Tracy but I’m not positive) checked us in and was very friendly and helpful any time we had questions. She suggested an outing - a hike on the Beara Penninsula - that was my favorite part of the trip. The fact that we could go downstairs with a question during the day meant that we had the support of being in a hotel but we had the space, the option to cook, and the affordability of being in an apartment. The location of the apartment could not have been better. It is right on the Main Street which was totally convenient but Kenmare is such a quaint town that noise was never a problem. It was very quiet. The restaurants that I had read were great were just yards away. Kenmare felt like a hidden gem. The town itself is wonderful. It was about a 30 minute drive to Muckross Abbey and House in Killarney. It was a perfect launching spot for exploring the Beara Penninsula, which a friend and multiple people online said would be even better to visit than the Ring if Kerry - fewer tourists but equally beautiful. We went night kayaking in Kenmare Bay and it was our boys’ favorite part of the trip. We loved all of Ireland but Kenmare was all the way around our best stop. The one thing I would say is that they lock the gate to the driveway at night for security, so if you might be out late, just be sure you know how to open the lock. It’s not a problem at all but just a good thing to ask in advance. Book this apartment. You will be glad you did.

The apartment is very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Bigger and more beautiful than the photos. The location is wonderful, and the hosts are the best. You are in the middle of town, and easy access to the Beara Peninsula, Kerry and Dingle. I had lost my license and Visa while running one morning, and the hosts here cared so much, they posted it on the Kenmare facebook page. We were just leaving town. Within 15 minutes, we had a call. Someone had found my things down at the pier, and had sent a message to the facebook page. It was Julie- someone who works at the Brewhouse, a wonderful coffeehouse we frequented. I couldn't believe it. She was so happy to return my things- and well.. that simply sums up the Kenmare experience. The apartment, the town, and the PEOPLE.. truly lovely, and heartfelt. A well needed respite and refreshment for my soul!
