About this house rental
This is a spacious 2 story, 4 Bedroom 2.5 bath family home in a quiet neighborhood in artist enclave, Topanga Canyon. We are walking distance (1.2 miles) to the Topanga Community House, venue of many popular events, including the renown Topanga Days festival scheduled over Memorial Day weekend. The famous Theatricum Botanicum is also walking distance and the legendary Mountain Mermaid House is across the street from ours. The house is 6.3 miles from both US 101 and the stunning Pacific Coast Highway. Near hiking, mountain biking & surfing.
The space
There is a large master bedroom upstairs with its own private two sink bathroom with tub and an open walk in shower, down the hall are two guest bedrooms, the first with Queen bed, the second also with a Queen bed, both have access to another full bathroom off the hallway.
Downstairs there is a single bedroom with office desk and you will find a large comfortable living room complete with a fireplace and grand piano. The floors are finished with saltillo tiles in the living & dining rooms and carbonized bamboo plank in the kitchen and family room.
The family room has a 48" Roku smart TV with Netflix and Amazon, etc and many other apps/channels. There is a Google Home device & high speed 200/200Mbs Wi-Fi.
The kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements for large dinner parties with a 1/2 bathroom adjacent to the Family room. Massive 65' deck outside with a 500 gallon Hot Springs Grandee hot tub, Propane Fire Pit, ping pong table, rambling gardens, BBQ and a large tree house! Stunning views all around. Pets are allowed according to our policy. We have a big fenced yard. The yard is fenced in all around for dog safety.
There is a separate apartment on the property where we occasionally stay, but you will never see us unless you need assistance with the property.
The space

Get away from the city and enjoy this beautiful, home! Inside is cozy and comfortable! The back deck is so relaxing with the tropical setting. Hot tub and table tennis were a bonus! The hikes up the streets to peacock hunt were an adventure as well! :) Great spot to unplug!

It was a true pleasure to stay in this home. The location was away from the bustle of the city, but close enough to be convenient to a number of attractions, hiking, and the airport. The home itself is obviously adored by her owners and well maintained. We would stay here again!

Clean and comfortable home with a lot of character. Beautiful views all around the house. Well equipped kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner. Hosts were very responsive, and even decorated for Thanksgiving, which was a nice touch.

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood with great outdoor space. Hot tub and outdoor fire bowl were nice for the cool weather we had. The house itself is well stocked and very clean. The hosts were very responsive to any questions and made check in easy. It was perfect for our family.

We had an amazing stay! It was Grandma, grandpa, and our daughter and her family! We loved the hot tub, ping pong, the swing, and the beautiful views of the birds and flowers! Being lulled to sleep by the frogs at night! The house itself has a great energy! The owners couldn’t have been more responsive and kinder! Such a great experience!

We are local to L.A., and needed to vacate our own home for a couple of weeks and found Kris and Diana’s listing in Topanga Canyon. We feel like we made a great choice. The house is very comfortable and fully stocked, the location ideal if you are looking for access to both the beaches and the tourist attractions of Universal City and Hollywood. The hosts checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and offer information on places to eat, places to hike, etc. They very much made us feel like their home was our home for the time we were there. Check in and check out could not have been easier. If you are looking for a Topanga Canyon experience, this is a fine choice.

What a beautiful home! Diana and Kris were such gracious hosts! Everything about my stay was even better than I had expected. The property is gorgeous and so peaceful. The outdoor space is epic with breathtaking views. The flora and fauna were spectacular. Hearing the wild peacocks call while the mist rolled through the canyons was an enchanted experience. The communication and accommodation offered by Kris and Diana was fantastic, and they made my stay so very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and will return!

We took advantage of the hot tub outside, as well as all of the anomalies in the house. My family stayed up doing puzzles, and enjoyed all the walking available around us. I highly recommend this property, as the owners of the property, or extremely accommodating and friendly as well.

The home was even better then described or the pictures. It had everything needed and more. The whole place was so clean and had all the things we needed to cook, BBQ, or just Relax and I have a great time. The outside was awesome, gas fire pit, hot tub, even ping pong table. The Hosts were there for us if we had any questions before and during our stay. They also gave us plenty of information to make my wife's 65th birthday the greatest. The last part of the road getting to the place is a little rough, but if you go slow you will enjoy the ride and even see some wildlife. Don't miss going to Cafe on 27 just up the road. The hosts told us about it and it was great for Breakfast. It will take you about 1 hour from the home to most places in the Hollywood, Santa Monica area, the 101 and PCH do have traffic but just enjoy the scenery on your way. Santa Barbara is a great little town for a day trip.
This place is awesome and the stars at night are so bright and beautiful from the Hot tub.

We were hoping for a break from our east coast city life in a completely different environment. Kris and Diana's house gave us exactly what we needed! The house is spacious, homey and comfortable with everything we could possibly want. The property is just beautiful. Kris and Diana were always responsive to any concern we had, it was truly a pleasure to be there. When we left it felt like we were leaving our home. We had a great weeklong family getaway at this Gem in Topanga. 15 minutes to Malibu and 15 minutes to Calabasas. The property is quite and secluded in the eclectic area of Topanga. the property has tons of room for a family get together with extremely useable outdoor space. We will return.

The property is a bit out of the way but great for peace quiet and serenity. The art and architecture are beautiful and tasteful. If you are a fan of wood and tile and this is the place. We loved the decor and the personal vibe. Would love to go back someday.

Great summer getaway
My husband, teen daughter and myself enjoyed a week at this magical house! We really loved everything about it. The back patio is simply amazing with ample seating, a fire table, a grill, ping pong table, table for dining, hot tub, swing and even a treehouse! We had no trouble accessing amazing hikes and beaches from the property. The house had a wonderful indoor kitchen, living spaces, comfy beds and spacious bathrooms. Add in tons of books, a piano, a chess set and beach supplies (chairs/towels/umbrella) and we were totally set! If you’re looking for a relaxing and charming Topanga getaway look no further! Added bonus, Kris and Diana were so friendly and helpful with any questions/concerns during our stay.

Peaceful wonderfull little get-away
Great house, great location, wonderful hosts. We really enjoyed the place and the area, Some great hiking/mountain biking trails nearby (Dianna provided a lift to one trail) and some nice local restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked, nice little outdoor grill and hot tub! Everything comfy and nice.

Great Family Vacation!
This is a perfect family getaway home. The location is beautiful and the house is clean and comfy. We loved the relaxing patio and hot tub. The hosts were lovely and even when we had some confusion about the check out time, did everything they could to accommodate us. The location is very convenient for visiting both beaches and the city. I would highly recommend this property!

Peaceful Topanga retreat near Santa Monica
We had a great time in the hills of Topanga. This is a very nice and clean house that is extremely well stocked for visitors. Thx spa was a nice place to hang out in the cool evenings. We loved the fact the house was so homey feeling. It felt like someone actually lived there and let you use it instead of the “antiseptic” places you usually find. There’s lots of nature sounds and stars. Quite a surprise when you are only about 20-30 minutes from Santa Monica to the southeast, and valley to the north. Delicious restaurants within a 10 minute drive. You will enjoy yourself here too I am sure.

5 Days in The Canyon
Our family met up here for Christmas. Including two dogs. The house worked well for our small group. There are three upstairs bedrooms and a single bed in a small study/ bedroom off the tv room on the main floor. So technically four bedrooms. The furniture is a collection of really nice antiques and well-used sofas and chairs, plus some interesting art and personal items obviously collected over many years. We had never been to Topanga so this was a treat to see such an atypical part of LA. The weather did not cooperate, and it was cold and rainy. So we played games, watched tv and read books when not driving around and exploring. The house is well stocked. The owners even put up a Christmas tree for us. That was nice touch. We received texts from the owners almost daily. Check in and out was effortless. On the negative side, there are not many restaurants to choose from, and cell service is spotty. So overall, a positive experience. The house worked well for us.

My family and I had a great stay. The House is a Great place in a Great area of town. It is good for kids and families. Kris and Diana where wonderful hosts and very caring and giving from beginning to end. They are genuinely kind thoughtful people. An amazing Topanga getaway house
Our family had an amazing time staying in this wonderful home. The photos really do not do justice to this property - it turned out so much better than we has imagined. The house itself is comfortable and very well equipped for you to feel like home. And the location is outstanding, especially if you love hiking.
