just kick back and soak in the natural beauty of your private retreat.
Siltcoos Lake:
The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.
It also is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.
Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.
Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon and is among those mentioned in our article, Best Largemouth Bass Fishing in Western Oregon.
You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake here, including fallen trees, drop-offs, points, islands and numerous coves and several longer creek arms. There also are some docks, especially where there are a fair number of private homes along the banks on the west and north sides of the lake, many clustered around the communities of Dunes City and North Beach.
Bass will often move up into the shallower water during the spring, when they spawn just off shore, and they can be aggressive then. They will stage a bit more off shore at other times.
Crappie also like to hang out around structure and may be found in shallower water during the spring. Sunken trees and pilings are good places to start.
Also, the lake is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.
Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).
Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.
The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.
There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.
What’s nearby:
This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean
beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road, and the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city
is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants.
You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The
coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.
Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to
experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!
Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving,
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail.
Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are
offered daily.
Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road
where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force
the crabs out to the ocean.

Good place for an adult get together
10.0
Very friendly hosts. Clean and spacious for us all. Will stay again!

My adult college-age children are spread all over the country. One of them lives in Eugene, so I looked around for a nice VRBO in the area. This house was perfect. There were 6 of us. We loved the kitchen. EVERYTHING You need to cook a large dinner is here. We cooked every night. The view of the lake is amazing. Check-in and out was very easy. Thank you for sharing this lovely home.

The house was very quiet and comfortable. The coffee pot had the wrong carafe but the brought us out a new one. Great place and hosts
10.0
The place was perfect! It was a get away for four sisters and a dog. House was very clean and the set-up was ideal. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. Would recommend to family and friends. Plan to visit again!

We have stayed in this home for the past few years for an annual golf retreat in Florence. It is quiet, clean, and able to host our evening cocktail event after golf with our friends. The coffee carafe was new, but to short. i contacted the manager and a new one was brought immediately the same day. This is one reason we return, great service.

The house is thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay -- it even has an enclosed deck with a gate to a separate fenced area for the dog. The negatives are fixable: it was obvious that the floor had not been washed, the microwave did not have a turntable (so it could not be used), there were no instructions on how to lock the key in the lockbox at the end of the stay, and most importantly, after our calls none of these items were addressed by management while we were there.

Beautiful!

This location and accommodations were perfect for our family retreat. The beach, dunes, and lake, offered something for every one to enjoy, and the home was very comfortable for our group of adults.

We visited Florence for a family reunion. The home was in a perfect location. The view from the back patio was absolutely gorgeous! The home was very welcoming and comfortable. It had everything we needed. I would love to visit again and will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Everything was A+. Owners were very helpful with any and all questions we may have had and property was perfect

This house was everything it promised to be and more. Clean, bright, beautiful views, spacious, I could go on and on. Only minor issues were that there was no turntable tray in the microwave, but it still worked, and the paddle boat wasn’t there, but we didn’t have time to use it even if it had been! The home has everything you could want and was comfortable and quiet. We will definitely rent again the next time we head that way.

We are 2 seniors with 2 pugs and had a relaxing, safe and enjoyable time.
Beautiful view from the outdoor porch of the lake.
Owner/Manager Jim of iTrip rentals was accommodating and professional.
We are looking forward to future rentals with iTrip. Nice selections to choose from.

This property is spacious and had a beautiful view of the lake with a nice outdoor patio for outdoor dining. Located in a quiet residential area away from the main part of town it was a great little getaway. The king bed was comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed

Location was very quiet with a great view and plenty of parking. House was stocked well and had the actual amenities listed when we booked it.

This was our second time staying at this property & both times have provided amazing vacations and unforgettable, treasured memories.
Jim is, without a doubt, the best host we've ever had; kind, communicative, and very helpful. He genuinely cares about the happiness and wellbeing of his guests.
Walking through the front door feels like coming back home. The property is clean, spacious welcoming, and well-maintained. Very happy, positive vibes throughout, just the right amount of furniture and decor, and a truly gorgeous, breathtaking view. Plenty of cooking utensils and clean plates, glasses etc for meals at home. Everything works and works well. It has everything you need for a relaxing, memorable vacation.
Even our dog remembered the property from last time and was thrilled to be back. Our pooch even remembered the roads leading to the property and got all excited when we turned onto the first one. He loved the fenced-in yard & taking walks near the lake.
You simply can't go wrong with this property for an amazing, one-of-a-kind vacation. We can't wait for our next stay at this incredible gem!

Thoroughly delightful property…we loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the peace and quiet. Easy access to downtown Florence and beach activities. Property was a little hard to find the first time as the street sign was obscured by foliage. The home was awesome with very comfortable beds views from almost every room.

This house was perfect for our weekend away to relax, read and recharge. We did ask to check in a tad bit early and weren’t able to. The house smelled fresh and clean when we arrived so we figured it was just getting cleaned.

The house was great, the lake access wasn’t terrific but the house was super clean. The gated & fenced back yard

It was a Very beautiful house, and wonderful scenery. Not to far from the city by far enough. We will love to go back

Had a great time at this house, watched movies, relaxed, did some star gazing and went to the dunes/beach. House was clean, beds were comfy and overall a fun mini vacation!

Clean, roomy, homey, comfortable, with a great view. Just wish the weather would have been better so we could have eaten on the deck overlooking the lake.

The house was absolutely perfect for our Thanksgiving gathering. We enjoyed the living room space that had two areas for seating and 2 separate tvs. The view of the lake was beautiful!! We watched birds and took walks. I would highly recommend this space!!

Do not pass by this rental if it is available. We have stayed at many nice places and this IS the nicest place yet and it has absolutely everything and a spectacular view of the lake !
10.0
This house was perfect. Super clean, well decorated and well supplied kitchen. Lots of open space to spread out and three nice bedrooms. We used the lake access to put the kayak in the water and had an enjoyable time out on the lake. When not on the lake there is a deck with a view to share meals on or just relax. We will rent again. Thank you.

We loved the stay. Great location with the lake and coast just a few miles away. Loved the sunsets over the lake.
Only feedback is there is some wildlife that knocks over the trash cans outside each night and one of the cans does not have a lock. Would suggest getting a lock for the can. That was the only drawback.
I would recommend to stay here. Nice and quiet and plenty of room in the house as well as the property.
10.0
Comfortable and spacious, and located on a safe perch overlooking the lake. Very quiet and relaxing with spaces for everyone to get away. Bunnies, Deer and Bear and access to the lake, it is the perfect spot to get away. Close to town, really close to Darling Resort for some truly good burgers. I hate to see it get so popular that we can't come back! But thank you for another great stay.

Southern Oregon coast getaway
We had a crabbing trip scheduled in Winchester bay that was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. I contacted the property Manager to see if I could move the stay dates forward. He was very accommodating and it was an easy adjustment made to our reservation. As pictured in the VRBO app. the house is absolutely beautiful and nestled on a hillside above the lake. This is a very clean, spacious, kid friendly, pet friendly house. Plenty of parking, kitchen wares, games etc. I give it 5 stars because everything there is terrific. The only improvement that I could suggest is a hot tub and a fire pit. Otherwise this place is the perfect Oregon coast getaway. Book this house and you won’t be disappointed.
