Great space to relax and enjoy the gorge

Our Standard double room with small balcony & breakfast was great, we had a spectacular view of the Rio Corgo Gorge which was enhanced at night by floodlights. Our room came with breakfast, a comfortable bed, air conditioning, shower over the bath, TV, wardrobes and a small fridge. The balcony was large enough for us both to sit outside and enjoy an afternoon beverage. The hotel has 2 indoor pools the larger being 16 metres long, a very well equipped modern gym and outdoor sun leaners on the terrace and by the pool. The staff were great, very accommodating to our needs and friendly. We based ourselves here to visit the Douro Valley (no car) and being an easy 900 metre walk to the bus station to get to Regua, the valley and the MiraDouro Train made that easy. Great location.

Great hotel and staff, good breakfast. A big turn off is the fact that smoking is permitted in doors in the hotel. Stale smell of smoke in bedrooms. Bedrooms were very old and really need modernisation.

Modern high rise hotel with good 4 star facilities

Easy parking for 10 motorcycles, excellent breakfast, lovely indoor pool, bar area, and nice view from the dining room. Modern hotel.

best hotel in Villa Real and lovely staff

brilliant hotel in perfect location pool is superb and staff the best! stayed here 39 yrs ago and it’s just as good.The parrot is ace as well .

Great location. Good facilities. Secure parking.

Breakfast offered was both full English and continental style buffet and provided a lot of choice. The dinner menu was very good but we decided to eat at a local Portugese restaurant. The staff were hospitable and very helpful. The view over teh canyon behind the hotel was spectacular. Parking was secure.

The property was good value overall and exceeded my expectations.

The hotel, while a bit older, is very well maintained and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and the free underground parking was appreciated. Breakfast included all the essentials such as scrambled eggs, a selection of breads, fruits, pastries, cheese, coffee etc. We really liked the location as it is a 5 min walk to centre of town and many restaurants. Also the view from our room was excellent as it overlooked the river valley behind the hotel. The bathroom was also nice, clean and worked well. Overall, a great stay

The room was a bit on the warm side as the heating was still active and the system hadn't been switched over to AC. There was a window in the room but not having bug screens we chose not to open the window but shut off the heating system instead.

Very poor

We stayed at this location due to an indoor pool. Not the case since it wasn’t open. I could have stayed at a cheaper hotel. I have stopped payment until I hear from someone. 203-910-1063

Adequete hotel at a great location

Great location overlooking the Corgo gorge. A perfectly servicable room. Very nice staff. Decent price.

Fantastic, very smart, excellent staff and facilties. On a motorbike and free underground parking, lovely town however did struggle to get a decent meal. We stayed extra days due to poor weather. Drinks in the bar, not expensive and a restaurant, however not open Sunday and Monday night but you can get bar meals. I would stay here again.. loads of TV channels.
