About this villa rental
Villa Nerea is a small and beautiful property set in a quiet neighbourhood of Los Narejos just a flat 12-minutes walk to the bars and restaurants of the 525 Plaza in Los Alcazares, or a flat 15 minute walk to the beaches of the Mar Menor. Completely renovated to a very high standard, the property has its own large swimming pool, private rooftop solarium, and large shaded rear patio. For the 2024 season the pool has been completely refurbished after 5 years of enjoyment by our guests and is ready to be enjoyed all over again!
There is a comfortable master bedroom with a kingsize bed and a smaller second bedroom with adult size bunk beds. The luxury bathroom has been upgraded for 2024 with a large walk-in shower by Grohe. The kitchen is very well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The lounge area has a wall mounted flat screen TV with satellite channels with comfortable seating.
The pool is 8m x 3.5m and has steps and seating. The deepest point is 1.6m and the shallow area is 1.2m, so this definitely isn't a plunge pool!! Around it is room to relax on sun loungers and there is a wall mounted shower to cool off if you don't fancy a dip! Villa Nerea unquestionably is an all year round, relaxing, holiday home.
The solarium is extremely large and is accessed from the rear patio of the property. We have loungers on the solarium and new seating for 2024. The rear patio has seating for 4 and you can be protected from the sun by using the large extending awning. There's also enough room for a couple of sun loungers too. This is a great place to be in the evenings - barbecue on the rear patio followed by a wander up to the solarium for drinks and watch the sunset over Los Alcazares. Simply wonderful.
We provide free wi-fi for you all to stay connected, and we have aircon in both the bedrooms and in the lounge.
Los Alcazares is a little gem. Its beaches are awarded the EU blue flag, and you can walk for around 7km from one end to the other along the shoreline promenade. There are bars and cafes dotted all along the route so you'll never get thirsty or hungry!! In the evenings, there are dozens of great restaurants and bars both in and around the 525 Plaza and in the old town. Hop on the little road train, El Habanero Tren Turistico, in the summer months (May to September) and you can ride from the 525 Plaza right up to the old town and back again for a few Euros. For those who want an extended night out you can find several nightclubs and bars that open late all around Los Alcazares, but they don't spoil it for those that want an early night, so LA caters for everyone.
Los Alcazares is an all year round place to visit. There are a number of Festivals you can come to - Three Kings in January, Easter, Semana Internacional de la Huerta y el Mar - the festival of the orchards and the sea in August, and a large festival held in late October - El Caldero. These are really Spanish and well worth visiting. Cartagena holds an annual Jazz festival in November and has been doing so for more than 40 years. Los Alcazares holds markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays and you should visit whilst you are here.
Outdoor activities are plentiful - tennis, padel tennis, windsurfing, kite surfing, paddle boarding, cycling (bike hire available in the town), walking, you can do all of these things here in Los Alcazares. We mustn't forget the golf - there are some world famous and spectacular courses very close to Los Alcazares. Las Colinas has just been voted Spains best Golf and Country Club, and all the golfers will recognise the name of La Manga, which is 20 minutes drive away. Closer courses can be found at Roda and Serena within the surrounding countryside of Los Alcazares. Within 3 hours you can be in the mountains skiing.
If shopping is your thing, La Zenia Boulevard is just a 15-minute drive back towards Alicante, which is Europes largest outdoor shopping mall. South for a 15 minutes drive is Cartagena. A Roman city full of culture and sophistication - visit the amphitheatre and the many beautiful streets!! If you fancy a bath for the complexion, the northern part of the Mar Menor (Lo Pagan) is world famous for its high nutrient content mud - lots of people visit and it's an hilarious day out - and only 10 minutes up the coast from Los Alcazares!
So do I need a car? Absolutely not, there is plenty you can do without one. However, if you do hire one from the airports of Alicante or Murcia, it will extend your range to the countryside or coastline further afield, but not essential. Los Alcazares ( and the house) is just 20 minutes by taxi from Murcia International (Corvera) airport where Jet 2, Easy Jet and Ryanair all fly into from many UK International and Regional airports. Alicante airport is an easy 50-minute drive on the AP7 where all the above airlines fly into, plus many more from other European countries such as Holland, Belgium, Denmark, and Scandinavia. This is a really cosmopolitan area, and it's a place everyone enjoys and returns to year after year. We can arrange airport transfers and collections from Alicante and Murcia International (Corvera), so when enquiring please ask for more details.

This villa was clean, and very close to restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The pool area at the front is very much needed in the Spanish heat, the back covered patio is great for breakfast/lunch etc.. the upstairs solarium gets very hot during the day, but great at night to watch the sunsets. We are already, planning a return visit.

We had a brilliant time here. The location is great, with four supermarkets within a 5 minute walk. There are numerous restaurants within a fifteen minute walk at the 525. The old part of the town is a bit further away but had a brilliant atmosphere when we were there. There are miles of beaches, also within walking distance. The pool was great and my kids were in it twice everyday. If we go back to Spain I would definitely come back and stay here.

My family and I had the best time staying at this beautiful villa. Mark has thought of everything to make your stay perfect. All the little touches inflatables for the kids. Some gorgeous wine and Juice ready waiting in the fridge. It was home from home great location round the corner from the supermarkets. Close to beach and endless restaurants. Lovely pool that was ideal for me my wife and two children aged 5 and 9. We definitely will be back next year!!

This Villa was perfect for us, exactly what we were looking for. Well appointed, it had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean throughout and we particularly enjoyed sitting by the pool, the solarium and lunches on the rear terrace. Great location, we barely used the car! Thank you Mark and Helen for a lovely stay!

Sue was at the airport to meet us and drove us to the villa where Ann was waiting for us to show us around the villa we were lucky that we were able to go straight in to the villa as no one left that day, the first thing we saw was a anniversary gift left on the dinning table for us , it was a lovely surprise. So kind of mark to go to the trouble of buying us a gift, we found the villa was lovely and clean . Top quality towels and bedding , there was also beach towels to use , the 3 sunbathing areas were great and we made really good use of the pool, there was a Spanish bar around the next street, where we had a few drinks and a meal, the villa is well placed for supermarkets 4 in fact just 5 mins walk, by the arches there was a Irish pub we liked it did a good breakfast .

Very well presented property in central location, everything that you could need is provided. Good quality furnishings and nice clean property. We are already planning our next visit.

Villa was just ideal. Quiet neighbourhood not too far from beachfront and local restaurants. Very handy for supermarkets and some local bars. Pool, whilst a bit chilly (it was March) was clean and ideal size. Lots of sunbathing and shade areas, bedroom cosy and really comfortable. Hosts were great. We were allowed to stay all day at the end which was really appreciated. Thanks very much Mark & Helen.

Mark & Helen have been great to deal with from our initial communications, then upon meeting them when we got there, they were both really friendly and helpful. Throughout the stay they informed us of events in the area we might be interested in and answered all the questions we threw at them.
The place was immaculate. We found it really comfortable and were really at home there. The pool is fab and the downstairs is a lovely private sun trap area. Then if you really want to bake the roof terrace is super and has the sun all day. The area is a nice quiet street in a nice residential area with friendly neighbours of different nationalities.
Los Alcázares / Los Narejos is a nice town with loads of things to do, but to us hasn’t been spoilt by too much tourism. The Rio Nalon strip which took us 13 mins to walk to, has loads of bars of various cultures. They all speak English but the Spanish like you having a go even if you get it wrong. Milos for food and the Square bar & Sibarit bar were some ones we liked.
The promenade is about 20 mins walk away aswell which has lovely views and is really nice to walk down morning or night and has a string of bars on the beach if you want a coffee, bite to eat or a drink.
In conclusion, I probably haven’t listed all the plus points here but its the little things this place has that culminate to what was a perfect holiday for us.
We were really depressed having to leave back to the UK and for us, our future foreseeable holidays will be in the same place again.

Renting was extremely easy and finalised over two payments. We asked if we could bring our well behaved dog Freddie and Mark made allowances and Freddie was superb.
We knew and liked the area having owned a property nearby ourselves.
The pool was lovely and refreshing and all amenities and the beach are close at hand.
It’s easy to say we’ll be back - but we will.

The Villa did not disappoint in any way.The photo's don't do it justice. The pool was pristine and used by us frequently because it was so hot.The shaded area at the back was a godsend in the hot weather and we used the table for eating all our meals including a few BBQ's.The villa was very well stocked with all the utensils you could need and the TV was modern and up to date.Aircon in every room was wonderful. The shopping trolley was an added bonus for the nearby supermarkets.
We had a lovely holiday and can't wait to return.

A gem of a place
Villa Nerea is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Located in a quiet street but close to local amenities, clean, bright, light and airy, everything inside is of high quality and the swimming pool, rear patio and rooftop terrace are excellent features. The information pack with how things work was really useful and all the kitchen equipment easy to use.
We particularly liked the Spanish atmosphere of the area near the roundabout on the way to the beach with the cafes, restaurant, supermarket, chemist, hardware shop and bus stop. On Saturday mornings there was a large outdoor market from there to the Las Velas roundabout. We hired bikes from the Post Room in Plaza 525, went on the bus to Cartagena and San Pedro/ Lo Pagan and went on several walks along the paseo along the beach front, stopping off for drinks and light bites at the many chiringuitos along the way. The old town is a charming area with some lovely restaurants and the ever helpful Tourist Office.
Originally we booked to go to Villa Nerea for the summer of 2020 but we had to cancel due to the pandemic. We were keen to re-book and I must say it was well worth the wait. A big thanks to Mark and Helen who have been particularly helpful and understanding during this period making the booking and re-booking process easy. All enquires have been dealt with in an accommodating and professional manner. Thanks also to Tania for the airport transfers and the useful information about the area. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa. Highly recommended!

GENIAL.

Very good
Easy formalities on arrival and départure, housekeepers not necessary but very available. The house is well equipped,
pool better / bigger than on pictures.
You do not need a car for essentials,
but to explore, and visit nearby cities of Carthagena and Murcia, it is convenient. Good mix of comfort and touch of typical Spain.

First stay away from a golf complex
This property is as described, first class. It is very well appointed, great pool, very quiet yet easy access to both the beach and Los Alcazares itself. We hired bikes and the villa was a great base for us to cycle out and about, yet still enjoy the Spanish community feel of the location. Lee and Tanya were very helpful. We would definitely consider staying again and recommend to our friends.

Our stay at Villa Nerea
Fantastic holiday in a lovely, clean, fully equipped villa. The pool was great and just what we needed as we had really hot weather for the week. The outside terraces were lovely and we enjoyed the outside space. Mark and Helen were great, easy check in and out. We hope to be back again some time. Thanks Mark and Helen

Simply Pefect
We wish we could give more than 5 stars! The reviews speak for themselves. What a fantastic holiday we have just returned from. The villa itself is just beautiful and was perfect for our family, 2 adults and a 3 year old boy. It’s lovely and modern inside, the pictures don’t do it justice. Having previously been on villa holidays I can say this is the best equipped we have ever stayed in as well as being spotlessly clean. The location is set on a quiet road not far from the square where all the restaurants are. Lidl’s is 5 minutes from the villa for general food shopping. Lee collected us from the airport upon our arrival and took us for a little tour of the town so we could get our bearings which was excellent. We would just like to say a big thank you to Mark, Helen, Tania and Lee for making our stay so wonderful and easy from start to finish.
P.s - Thank you Mark for posting our sons stowaway toy back to us.
We will be back again!

What can we say that hasn't already been said before. The great reviews don't do the villa justice. It's very well equipped and smack bang in the centre of all the surrounding amenities. The pool is bigger in the flesh than in the photo. My wife and I had an amazing time here and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone.

Wonderful property - would give more than 5 stars if I could
We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at this wonderful villa. From the very beginning of the booking process through to our departure the owners and the property managers could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The villa has everything you need in the kitchen and the bed is the best I have stayed in whilst away - unbelievably comfortable. The rooms are cool and comfortable and for the ladies I was so happy to see not only the storage but all the lovely coat hangers - they have really thought out your every need.
We took our own towels however did not need to as the quality of the linens was excellent. I can’t speak highly enough about the quality of both the inside and the outside of the villa and the equipment provided. The pool is great and we had hours of fun in it. The owners even provided beach chairs for trips to the local beach although we have added an parasol shade, beach mats and a little trolley to wheel it all down to the local beach. Top tip for the parasol is when you have unpacked it take the cover and tie one end to the inside spikes and the other end to a heavy bag - this way you don’t run down the beach after it whilst your husband and son laugh at you from the water!! Good job I am not reviewing them here LOL.
The beach is only 15 mins walk and even on a busy weekend there is plenty of open space to enjoy. The lagoon on is non-tidal and shallow so very safe for young children and for just lying in the water to get a tan
Plaza 525 gives you the tourist restaurants and shops if you want again only 15 mins walk and the supermarkets are less than 10 minutes walk.
The only warning I would give is that if you want to explore outside Los Alcararez then the buses are only very 2 hours with limited destinations and tours will not pick up in the town unless they can guarantee a minimum of 8 people and so you may want to hire a car but in fairness there is loads in the vacinity so it does not detract from the property or our enjoyment of our stay.
The owners have provided loads of information in the property pack and we can recommend the Chinese restaurant close by my husband (a chef) said it was the best Peking duck he has ever tasted.
Would I recommend this villa? Absolutely 200%!
Finally we arranged our transfers through Tania and even that was friendly efficient and wonderful
Thank you Mark, Tania, Lee and Al one of our best holidays ever

wonderful villa with everything you required and all excellent quality
We had a great time in Villa Nerea and found it to be extremely comfortable with everything you could need and the quality of everything in the villa was of excellent quality. We found it so good that we used it as an extension of home life and did not feel the need to go out to eat many evenings. All in all we could not fault the villa at all and would only say that perhaps some details of where all the bars and restaurants are such as Plaza 525 and how to get there could just help. We had a great time and would certainly book again

Stylish Villa, Ideal Location
My husband and I stayed for 10 nights at the villa and had a wonderful time. The villa is very stylish and modern with lovely furnishings. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Good quality Towels and linen. The pool was a perfect size and the outside shower was great bonus. Lovely quiet road and within walking distance to supermarket, restaurants, bars and beach so no car is needed. We used Tania the house manager for our airport transfers and she was really helpful, showing us where everything was before we arrived at the villa. We will definitely be booking this villa again and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Los Alcazares.

We were so pleased to stay in this fantastic villa. So clean ,modern and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It had it's own heated pool so even had a dip in February. Close to local restuarants, bars and the beach.I have to mention it had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in.Even out of the busy season we found lots to do.I'm now relaxed and reluctantly ready to face the snow back in the UK thanks for a marvelous stay.Rebooking soon for Summer.
