NEVER AGAIN

Nothing

Everything. The property doesn't look anything as advertised on Booking.com. It is very aged. The A/C was turned off. the mattresses were terrible. The food was horrendous

A good hotel when you want to stay in the centre of Menton at a reasonable price.

From the outside the hotel looks gorgeous, with a facade that was kept during the obvious renovation years ago, The rooms are just fine, and the one we had had a very nice view, all the way to the sea. Staff were generally courteous and helpful.

The inside somehow doesn't quite match the outside. The reception area feels a bit like a budget hotel. The breakfast is average; refills of food were taking time. The (covered) parking garage offers only small parking spaces. It is better on the upper floor, as there are no pillars there (out in the open).

Superb

The hotel itself is very nice and has a very lovely garden. The room was very clean, and the bed was big and comfortable.

The only downside was that there was no caffee machine or kettle in the room. Otherwise everything was perfect.

The location

Air conditioning was poor, we had to pay extra for room cleaning and private parking (which was not private). Why pay extra money for parking if they don’t supervise it?? Breakfast was the poorest we’ve ever experienced and it was the same every morning, which wasn’t pleasant at all for a long stay. We also felt the lack of a small mini fridge in such hot temperatures we couldn’t even keep some water cold.

Won't stay there again

The location is pretty good.

Cleanliness was poor. You get a box for a shower. Beds were uncomfortable. Breakfast was cut up frankfurters with wet eggs (That was really smelly). There were flies all over the pastries. It should really be a 1-2 star hotel so you can manage your expectations.

A very comfortable and well positioned hotel for all local amenities.

The room was excellent and only one of 3 rooms with a terrace. The Hotel location was excellent. Very close to the centre of Menton, the beach and the railway station. All only a short walk away. Breakfast was excellent and the bonus was the option of a cooked breakfast of scrambled egg and bacon. The reception staff were very helpful looking up train times to Monte Carlo for us and recommending good places to eat. A credit to the hotel. Secure parking was another real bonus.

Only criticism would be no tea / coffee making facilities in the room. Otherwise, we would have given the hotel an excellent overall rating.

it was beautiful! I know that next time I will want to try the main building but the garden rooms were nice.

beautiful grounds and building

elegant building in a beautiful setting. quiet surroundings. staff were helpful. self/service laundry which worked great for us. room was fine but not as grand as the o stall setting (but we had a cheap room).

breakfast wasn’t great but it was free so can’t really complain.

Actually the hotel charges money for beautiful look and stylish interiors. Breakfast is very-very basic, safe was broken with no possiblity to use that, a tiny piece of soap in the bathroom.

It’s a beautiful building, but I stayed in the building across, which was fine. I appreciated the private parking on premises and the walking distance to the beach.

I didn’t realise before booking the dinner served in the “restaurant” was a massive buffet with fairly mediocre food. Breakfast ended earlier than the usual 10:00, which I always find a bit annoying.
