The kitchen staff and the bar staff. The grounds were well kept and beautifully and was very satisfied with our room and the maid that maintained our room.
The food. food was repetitive. You would think that staying in Puerto Plata the cooks would know ho to prepare green bananas, yuca and rice. Rice was under cooked Dailey, Yuca was over cooked and some times burnt, Green bananas over cooked or under cooked depending on the day. Sausages in the breakfast bar was over cooked and some time burnt ( I have pictures). The best food was Dominican day the goat was well seasoned and so was the chicken but the food was cold because the equipment to heat the food was in poor condition. I have never stayed at an all inclusive restaurant that served chicken gizzard on the main menu not once in 7 days but twice. The liquor was the cheapest money can buy. If you are a non smoker stay away from this resort, thank goodness all restaurant are non smoking. The only non smoking is at the bar and when it rain the smokers take over that area and the non smokers have to leave because management or staff will ask them to leave. We complain a few times even went and got a manger without results. The pool at the water level was very dirty and was being scrubbed while everyone was in the pool. When the smell of Clorox hit most of the people got out of the pool. Our room was the best part of our stay. Other than our room this is a very low budget resort and I mean low.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The entertainment was great and appropriate for all ages. The room was clean and spacious.
They kept telling us about this VIP breakfast or lunch that they wanted us to attend. When we attended the breakfast, it was the same breakfast I couldve gotten from the kitchen. Was told I would be receiving a gift card for $30 and a gift. Received a beach bag as a gift but when I mentioned the gift card, they said they knew nothing about it. On the beach we were constantly being bombarded by people selling jewelry. It started to feel like we were being harrassed.

I loved the location and it being on the beach
Our TV was broken so we could not watch it and the pictures on booking.com did not match the room we got

You should vary more the menu for all the food.

The property was clean and well maintained. The room had GREAT air conditioning. WiFi was good in most spaces (not all).
The food was not good. From the buffet to the restaurants that we had to make reservations for. The food did not look very appealing, the choices were limited, some things looked old. Overall, the food was the worst.
Also, I didn’t like that we were pressured to go to a timeshare event with the promise of a VIP breakfast or lunch. I go on vacation to vacation not to sit through a business proposition. When I said “no thank you” I expected to be left alone.

Decent place, as expected for what I paid. Rooms are okay, the staff I had contact with were all friendly, primarily the main bar area staff. The staff at the Beach Side Restaurant (primarily Jose) were truly outstanding and accommodating on every level. If it wasn't for Jose and the Beach Side crew, this trip would've been a total waste. Over the last 30 plus years I've visited a few Viva destinations and this one is probably my least favorite.
The sales pitches and the staff who are "assigned" to you to get you to buy. They pretend to like you, until you attend the presentation and decline "membership", then they act as if you don't exist. Also, one of the sales managers was pretty much a butthole and that's being generous and polite. Also, the water pressure and temperature are sketchy at best. Never really had "hot" water during my stay.

Grounds and staff were very nice.
The room wasn’t as advertised.

Omelette and fresh fruit was good.
Air conditioning didn’t work in the rooms. Dirty towels were never taken and we were never given clean towels. The television in the phone in the room never worked. Overall stay was not a good experience would not recommend it or go back ever

The cleaningness of the rooms were good. The food was very limited but is was good.
The service was poor. Staff were not friendly. The rooms were outdated. You had to request for towels in the rooms every time they cleaned. They only provide you with bath towels no hand or face towels. There's no vup.in the bathroom to rinse with.
The pool color is teal which makes the pool look cloudy and not clean. Everything is outdated. Nothing was to my expectation. I've been to many, many all inclusive resorts by far this is the one that least met our expectations.
They only have 3 restaurants you can make reservations for. Italian, Japanese and Mexican. They close 2 restaurants on the same day providing very limited options to dine.
We had to leave the resort twice to go out to dinner because the restaurants were either booked or closed and the buffet did not have great variety of food to please the guest for dinner.

It was nice and cozy… The pool was good, but the beach is for wind surfing. A bit ruff
The food wasn’t good. It was bland…

Enjoyed the flexibility for the kids to roam around and enjoy the location including the availability of food. The boys are 15 and love to eat randomly.
I was disappointed the resort tried to change the price of the booking price I secured on two separate occasions. I have yet to see the final bill/charges.

The viva staff was annoying and pushy. Definitely put a damper on our vaccination. They were constantly after us about attending their meeting and was insistent about me giving them my personal information .
The viva staff

The staffs were great! grounds and pool well maintained.
No hot water in shower.
AC not cooling, even after maintenance came by to check. It’s like they have it set to one temperature (28-30degrees C) doesn’t get any cooler than that, thermostat is useless..
buffet food could be better for the price.
Too much agents on property trying to sell/promote, it is a bit annoying.

I have visited many resorts and I can say that Viva Tangerine has been my best culinary experience, in terms of variety, quality, service and hygiene. The rooms that were initially assigned to us were a disaster, they are neglected, they had no water, the beds were weak and more. The manager Kelvin was very kind and offered us two other rooms with ocean views and offered us a reservation at one of the a la carte restaurants. all the staff are very helpful and fun. My daughters had fun playing Dominoes, Uno and other board games available.
The garden view rooms.
They are run down, outdated; feel like a motel room.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, comfortable and cool. The location was perfect because you could walk in either direction on the beach or road and find great restaurants
From an all inclusive standpoint this place is an absolute joke. Luckily I was gone everyday kite surfing and ate out at night with friends but the one day I decided to stick around and try to take advantage I was incredibly disappointed. I looked around at several points wondering if I was being punked because it was so low budget that it felt fake. The food was all disgusting and the drinks were terrible quality. I tried 10 different drinks and ended up dumping them all out because they tasted awful and it wasn't even possible to get a buzz. You couldn't get a reservation at any of the restaurants even though they looked empty and they never updated the entertainment schedule on the app so there was no way to know what was happening. While the staff was generally friendly, I had issues with some of their male staff hitting on me repeatedly and following me around despite me asking them to stop

The staff was excellet and then entertainers were super excellent
The fool is terrible they repeat the same thing morning afternoon and night they put the leftovers that was the only thing wrong about my stay

the A.C wasn’t working I complained about it 3 times and they claimed they fixed but wasn’t fixed until the night before I left and they wouldn’t change my room either
there was to many people smoking around kids and is not good when you go with kids that have asthma I think they should have a section just for smoking
