Hotel Rural Ibo Alfaro was easily the best accommodation during our 2 week trip in La Gomera. The place is beautiful - we particularly enjoyed the stylish decor, attention to the details, high level of comfortability and the magnificent views surrounding the hotel.

we came in late feb, and the rooms/facilities didn’t have any heating.

Great views up and down the valley.
Excellent value for money.

Gorgeous, stylish boutique hotel with stunning views of the mountains. Room was spotlessly clean and had a comfy bed and a balcony with valley views. Good breakfast with strong coffee on tap. Honesty bar stocked with cold water, nice wine and snacks. Well located for hiking, and within walking distance of a few good restaurants.

Big room. (But we did pay for a suite; it wasn't really a suite though: just a big room in an old farmhouse) Firm spacious bed.
Lack of customer care and facilities: Hotel specifically asks for your check in time, but when you get there there's no one, just your keys hanging in a bag with instructions as to how to find your room. The parking on the side of a narrow mountain road is limited and basic, with no suitable alternative if the Hotel is busy (? more than 8-9 cars). There are some basic drinks in a fridge in the entry room, but you have to record your consumption yourself (Honour system) for the staff to bill you. Might be acceptable if there was a good selection, but you guessed it: you'd be better off bringing some off licence supplies of your choice to your room. There is some WiFi in the hotel foyer, but nothing elsewhere, and roaming data access is difficult, and requires you to lean out the window of your room. Breakfast buffet is very basic, with congested space for the buffet. The Hotel asks guests to stagger their breakfast time to suit the facilities. I've had a better experience in an Australian outback camping ground chalet. The feeling I get is there is no one in the Hotel who has any professional experience of a service industry.

Very nice location, views of sunrise over the valley. Very relaxed personnel, it felt like visiting a family - suggestions and tips on day trips were voluntarily discussed. Is close to the center of the lengthy Hermigua - if you visit, suggest to give Tasca Telémaco a try for dinner (ten minute walk)
The bathroom was modern and nice, the room itself quite rustic, but authentic. No air conditioning (see below), but given the location and a smart usage of the blinds/windows/natural cooling at night, it was still quite comfortable.
Parking was OK, no dedicated parking but public parking along the (narrow) road.
Beds were quite hard - depending on taste a good or a bad thing (one of us good, the other bad).
At first the lack of air conditioning was a bit a disappointment. However, Hermigua has cool nights, and the way the building is oriented, the sun disappears from the windows after about 10 or 11 in the morning. Opening the windows in the evening allowed for a cooled down sleep (visited in September).
Beds were quite hard - depending on taste a good or a bad thing (one of us good, the other bad).

We had to check out early and got breakfast befor official time. the view from the room was very beautiful. We may suggest for dinner restaurante Gastro Tasca Estadio, just downhill from the hotel.

Breakfast was really good, fruits, muesli, toast, cheese, egg, tea, juice... Rooms had amazing view, new ensuite bathrooms and the stone walls were restored which createdna very nice ambience. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed when we arrived. Very helpful & friendly staff!

breakfast was very good, the view from the room was amazing, and the town where the hotel is located is so beautiful.
everything was great

Great well run breakfast. Styling traditional Canaries hotel. Beautiful mountain views in all directions. Tucked away off Hermigua's main thoroughfare which adds rustic and community ambience.
Wifi was only available in the breakfast room and office areas. With Brexit, mobile phone companies are soon charging for services in Europe, rather than extending UK services. It would have made work zoom calls prohobitely expensive.

Great place if you like hiking. Nice location above the village. Nice view from my room.
Nice village nearby. Breakfast was ok.
The staff could be smiling a lot more. Staff is really not much service oriented.

a nice building with simple small but clean room with good views. beautiful view from terrace
good breakfast
poor customer service. there was no welcome and little contact with the owner. despite giving our arrival time when we arrived mid afternoon there were no staff in the hotel but just a plastic envelope with our key and some instructions. we saw no one till breakfast next day. it would have been nice to have some to welcome us, and tell us a bit about the area etc
parking only on road and not easy
no restaurant but we found an excellent one in the town

- We chose this property for its lovely terrace and it didn't disappoint - such a stunning place to have breakfast/a beer after a long walk at the end of the day
- Amazing shower and really nice toiletries
- Honesty bar so you can help yourself to beers/wine/crisps as needed was great
- The (continental) breakfast was lovely
- We did an amazing 6-hour hike straight from Hermigua directly up the mountain and then through Agulo and Playa Santa Catalina - it was challenging but would definitely recommend! Search for hikes from Hermigua on AllTrails (or similar) and you should see it.
- The rooms were really hot so we struggled to sleep (but in fairness, we never asked/looked for a fan so shouldn't really complain)
- Parking on the road - not something we didn't like as such just something to be aware of - we never had trouble finding a space but we were often the last one so not sure if we just got lucky or not!
- Walking down to dinner and back up again got a bit tiring (it's only ~10-20 minutes depending where you go but we were often tired from a full day of walking already!) Obviously ways around this include driving there and back, going for food before coming back up the hill, and getting bits from the supermarket and eating in your room/on the terrace, so very overcome-able and just something to be aware of/prepare for
