A beautiful old mansion set in large gardens and within walking distance to Roundstone. Richard is a superb host and ensures your every need is met. Parking is on site and the whole setting has tremendous ambience. Breakfast is excellent with lots of local elements directly from the garden or oven.
The pricing is superb with the breakfast only £6 a head.
No TV but plenty to do.

Sehr schönes altes Haus, sehr netter Gastgeber, sehr ruhige Lage. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, vor allem die Apfeltarte und das selbstgebackene Brot.

It is a different place but Richard makes you feel very welcome and he wants you to enjoy your stay. Location was great and it had parking. Richard provided a great breakfast and the grounds are beautiful. Our room was wonderful and very comfortable. We had a private bath which was nice
Really nothing but if you’re into a lot of modern things this might not be the place. It had WiFi but it is an older beautiful home and Richard love’s makes his guest feel comfortable

Location was excellent, only a short walk straight into the village. Richard was a fantastic host, opening up his family home to us. It’s not your usual guest house but well worth the visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to the area.

Great Location. Great Host in Richard. Very friendly man.Very homely feel. Nice fresh continental breakfast with tarts fruits cereals fresh breads and jams. Very comfortable bed and hot showers.
Could do with a bit of Tlc. We stayed in Kings room. Old leak mark's on the ceilings could be painted and the windows replaced. Was a tad cold as only 1 electric rad to heat quite a big room. Lovely gardens to have a walk about.

The house is a haven of calm and a treasure trove of art and antiques. I loved it. Our room was huge and comfortable with a huge bed and good pillows. I loved the eclectic selection of prints, maps, photos and art on the walls.
The wifi was dodgy. I wasn't looking for a television in the room but I did need to keep in touch.

I liked that you always welcomed enquirey
And we’re optimistic about the weather.

I liked the friendliness and warmth of the place. The decor was so interesting and unique… like the owner Richard. It’s a memorable place to stay and will remain in the memory box long after all the bland uniform hotel rooms are long forgotten!! Roundstone is a lovely place to base yourself in Connemara.
Lots of things could be better but that would contaminate the authenticity of the experience.

Richard is such a courteous and kind host and very informative about the local area. He was also so helpful to us when we needed to print out boarding passes. He is very friendly but never intrusive and just really knows how to make you feel welcome. His house is so unusual and interesting, full of family history - you do feel you are being welcomed into a home. His garden is lovely too. The house has lots of interesting artefacts and paintings but is also so clean and lovely to stay in. Our bed was so comfortable, and the breakfasts were great, and we really appreciated that the 6 Euros for each breakfast were being donated to help Ukraine. This was our second visit and we definitely want to return. The house is so well located to walk into Roundstone, and the back way Richard showed us only takes about 8 minutes and is very pretty. Two nights ago we were walking back from an excellent dinner at the Shamrock Bar (recommended by Richard and where we heard wonderful live music), and on the path back we saw, at very close range, two badgers running towards us!

We really appreciated the serene atmosphere, unique accommodation, delicious breakfast, beautiful garden and fascinating history of Errisbeg House. Richard was extremely genial and did all he could to ensure we had a good stay. The house is an easy walk to Roundstone village and a short drive to two of the most glorious beaches in the area.

It was quirky. It was a house full of character, an unusual place to stay and therefore memorable. The family tree showed links to the Royal Family. Richard was so welcoming and relaxed. He gave us access to a kitchen area with a big table where we played cards in the evenings. The kitchen reminded me of my Granny’s kitchen. We had a lovely time.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Errisbeg House. There was a bit of a mix up at the start as we booked the Duke's Room that was supposed to have an en suite bathroom (per Booking.com) but it did not. It has a private bathroom across the hall. This ended up not being a problem for us. It wasn't a busy time of year and we never met anyone in the hall. The room and bed were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a large shower. It is a 10 min walk into town for dinner and a short drive to Dog's Bay. The garden and house were lovely. Thank you Richard. We look forward to staying with you again if back in Roundstone.

What an amazing stay my husband and I had at Errisbeg House.
From the moment we arrived till we left we were treated with warmth and genuine real hospitality by our fantastic host Richard. The nicest gentleman you could ever meet, his stunning mansion is steeped in history and Richard tells its story with love and sincerity, you can tell he absolutely adores his home as we did, we felt so special there, thank you Richard.
The breakfast was one of the 'best' we had on our lovely Irish staycation, highly recommended, all homemade breads, jams, cakes and the most delicious fresh fruit salad, cheeses, hams, cereals etc etc...devine!!
We stayed in the King room, which was huge, so much storage space, it was spotless, airy and light and the decor/furniture was simply stunning, we had 2 great nights sleep in the super king size bed. Ensuite bathroom was lovely with a great power shower.
The location was absolutely perfect for us as we had our bikes with us, we did some amazing cycles around so many beautiful lakes, it was just something else, and the weather was favourable for us.
Roundstone village was so pretty and plenty choices to eat.
We really wished we had booked to stay longer with Richard, but are just so glad we got this opportunity to stay at Errisbeg with the most amazing host, until next time Richard!!
Wished we had booked to stay longer!!!
